NEW YORK, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The year was 1981: Big hair, high-waisted jeans and popped-up collars were popular fashions, "Bette Davis Eyes" topped the charts, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" hit theaters, and everyone was saving up quarters to play the latest video games. Also that year, a new video game by game designer Toru Iwatani at NAMCO LTD. (currently NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc.) hit arcades around the world and would soon become a pop- culture phenomenon and one of the most beloved games of all time. That game was "Pac- Man(R)," and today Microsoft Corp. and NAMCO BANDAI Games made video game history by unveiling the "Pac-Man Championship Edition" - featuring the first new Pac-Man mazes in more than 26 years - available only on the Xbox 360(TM). This brand new game was introduced today in New York City at the first-ever Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Championship, presented by Quiznos. As a special surprise from Iwatani and NAMCO BANDAI Games, the 10 tournament competitors became the first in the world to play and compete on the "Pac-Man Championship Edition" before its launch at 9 a.m. GMT (5 a.m. EDT) on June 6, 2007, only on Xbox LIVE(R) Arcade on the Xbox 360.

"Pac-Man Championship Edition" made its official debut during today's New York City finals for the Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Championship, presented by Quiznos. The 10 participants from four continents and eight countries around the world - Austria, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the U.S. - competed at The Supper Club in New York City's Times Square. To advance to the championship finals, each participant had to earn the highest "Pac-Man" score in their respective home country during the qualifying rounds that took place from May 4 through May 10, 2007. In an exciting finale, these top players competed on the new "Pac-Man Championship Edition" several hours before its upcoming launch on Xbox LIVE Arcade - the online games service exclusively for the Xbox 360 that today offers more than 60 downloadable game titles, including well-known arcade classics, card and puzzle games, and innovative original titles. The event was capped off with Iwatani crowning the first Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Champion - Carlos Daniel Borrego, a 27-year-old man from Pachuca, Mexico.
"It feels great to be the first-ever Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Champion," said Borrego, who has been playing "Pac-Man" since 1985 and achieved a score of 222,160 on the "Pac-Man Championship Edition" during the final match. "It is a thrill to hold the title and to have won it by playing on the new game. This is amazing, and I want to dedicate it to my family and Mexico!"
Along with the distinction of being the first in the world to play the "Pac-Man Championship Edition" and the international acclaim for being the first Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Champion, Borrego was awarded other great prizes, including 26 years of free Quiznos toasted subs (one sandwich a week for 26 years, a $13,520 [U.S.] value); 100,000 Microsoft Points for games, movies and other fun content available on Xbox LIVE; and a one-of-a-kind Xbox 360 signed by Iwatani and featuring a special design inspired by "Pac-Man."
"I'm deeply honored that people view 'Pac-Man' as my lasting legacy and am so excited to come full circle by releasing the 'Pac-Man Championship Edition' with its exciting new mazes and modes on Xbox LIVE Arcade on the Xbox 360," said Iwatani, creator of "Pac-Man" and currently a professor at Tokyo Polytechnic University. "It gives me great joy to know that my final contributions in my corporate career were to crown the Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Champion and to leave the world with an amazing new 'Pac-Man' game for generations to enjoy."
Since launching in 1980 in Japan and in 1981 around the world, "Pac-Man," its host of ghosts and its famous "wakka wakka wakka" sound have become global pop-culture icons. This arcade game played an instrumental role in establishing the video game industry in the 1980s, while the launch of Xbox LIVE in 2002 was a key factor behind the rapid growth in popularity of online gaming. Today, Xbox LIVE Arcade is the premier online destination for digitally distributed HD games offering fans around the globe a great opportunity to connect, compete, and enjoy the fun.
"'Pac-Man' was the game that ignited the world's passion for video games, with every member of the family hooked on avoiding Clyde and eating up all the Power Pellets," said Jeff Bell, corporate vice president of Global Marketing for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. "It is a tremendous honor that NAMCO BANDAI and Toru Iwatani are going to use the power of the Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE Arcade platform to deliver the next evolution of 'Pac- Man' to the world."
"We would like to tip our hats to the players who traveled from far and wide to display their 'Pac-Man' talent to the world and to congratulate Carlos from Mexico on his victory," said Steve Provost, executive vice president and chief marketing executive for Quiznos. "There couldn't have been a better way to celebrate the 26-year anniversary of Quiznos' chef-inspired toasted sandwiches than to help make the first-ever Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Championship into a reality."
About Pac-Man
As the story goes, one day in 1979, Namco developer Toru Iwatani removed a single slice of pizza and, after looking down upon the rest of the pie, saw what was to become one of the most popular characters in gaming history. The release of Pac-Man to arcades a year later (1980) lead to the beginning of "Pac-Mania," in which over the next few years would yield everything from character-based board games and breakfast cereal to a top 40 song and popular Saturday-morning cartoon. Namco Bandai Games estimates that the original Pac- Man arcade title has been played more than ten billion times in its 27-year history.
About Toru Iwatani
Born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1955, Toru Iwatani joined Namco in 1977. As a game designer, he created "Pac-Man" in 1980. Among its many achievements, "Pac-Man" was recognized in "Guinness World Records 2005." As of April 2007, Iwatani serves as a professor of a game course in the Faculty of Arts at the Tokyo Polytechnic University. Iwatani also acts as a fellow (special advisor) for NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc.

Hostopia acquires assets of TemplateRover.comIncreased inventory of web site templates strengthens Hostopia's position as wholesaler to communications service providers.
MISSISSAUGA, ON, and FT. LAUDERDALE, FL, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hostopia.com Inc. (TSX: H), today announced that it acquired all of the operating assets of TemplateRover.com, a division of Geeksforless Inc. ("GFL"). The acquired assets include all of the ownership rights to over 3,200 web site templates that were jointly owned by Hostopia and GFL. Other assets include exclusive rights to 1,600 additional web site templates, over 30,000 digital images and a retail and channel software distribution system for templates currently powering the template distribution site Templaterover.com. Hostopia's purchase price for the assets was CAD $247,000.
Hostopia's chief marketing officer, Paul D. Engels states, "Web site design is increasingly demanded by small- and medium-sized businesses endeavoring to establish an online presence or to improve their existing web sites. Consumers and developers alike are finding professionally designed, pre-built websites speed their time to market and reduce site development costs. Our purchase of web site template business assets from GFL gives us one of the world's largest inventories of web site templates and images available to communications service providers for sublicense to their customers. The powerful search and distribution software is an added bonus that will help us distribute website templates both to service providers and their SMB customers."
Hostopia offers more than 4,800 web site templates and 40,000 web-ready photo and business-themed animated images to its customers, who in turn resell these offerings to business owners of web site developers. All but 500 of the web site templates are owned by Hostopia. The remaining number contain images licensed for use by Hostopia's service provider customers and their end-users.
"Hostopia has a multi-channel distribution strategy to meet the needs of the SMB market," says Engels. "Our customers can bundle web site templates free of charge with web services that we offer. Alternately they can sell templates on a stand-alone basis as a profitable product offering that helps drive their web hosting business. Web site designers and developers have the option of purchasing templates directly from templaterover.com or bulk-licensing large numbers of templates from Hostopia," he adds.
The software assets acquired from GFL, a related party to Hostopia, will become part of Hostopia's operations. Hostopia will focus on continuing to build its inventory of templates for distribution through its existing customer base of more than 330 communications service providers, as well as web developers, retail hosting service providers and others seeking web site design applications and web site templates.

Volterra Reports Updated Financial Guidance for Second Quarter 2007
FREMONT, Calif., June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Volterra Semiconductor Corporation , a leading provider of high-performance analog and mixed-signal power management semiconductors, today provided an update on its second quarter financial guidance.
The Company announced that it expects net revenue for the second quarter ending June 30, 2007 to be lower than previously forecasted, and is currently estimated to be between $18.5 million to $19.5 million, and non-GAAP earnings per share is estimated to be a loss between $(0.04) to $(0.07). These results are preliminary, subject to the Company completing its customary quarterly closing and review procedures. The anticipated decrease in revenues from the Company's earlier forecast is primarily due to a process defect with one of the Company's vendors, which has caused the Company to recall $2-3 million of product and will result in a charge to earnings of $3-4 million in the second quarter.
The Company indicated that it has identified the source of the defect and has worked with its vendor to replicate and correct the defective process. The Company has also worked closely with the affected customers to initiate the recall and to minimize any interruption to their business and to minimize any financial impact to them as a result of this issue. The Company will replace the recalled products, and revenues associated with the recalled products will be recognized in the quarter in which such replacement products are shipped.
Volterra will hold a conference call today at 6:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) to discuss this revised guidance. To access the conference call, investors can dial (800) 218-0204 approximately ten minutes prior to the initiation of the teleconference. International and local participants can dial (303) 262-2142. A webcast of the conference call also will be available from the Investors section of the Company's website at: http://www.volterra.com/. The webcast will be available on the Company's website until midnight on Tuesday, July 3, 2007.
A digital replay of the conference call will be available through midnight on Tuesday, June 12, 2007. To access the replay, investors should dial (800) 405-2236 or (303) 590-3000 and enter reservation number 11091467#.

Non-GAAP Financial Measures
Volterra provides its earnings per share forecast on a non-GAAP basis, which excludes the estimated effects of stock-based compensation expense and special items such as the cumulative effect of accounting changes and restructuring charges, net of tax. Volterra does not provide a GAAP forecast for earnings per share, as it is unable to calculate stock-based compensation expense for the current quarter without unreasonable effort. Volterra believes the use of such non-GAAP information is useful to investors and other users of its financial information and its inclusion with Volterra's financial results is warranted for several reasons:
-- it can enhance the understanding of Volterra's financial performance by adjusting for special, non-recurring items that may obscure results and trends in Volterra's core operating performance, particularly in reconciling differences between reported income and actual cash flows;
-- it can provide consistency in reviewing Volterra's historical performance between periods, as well as allowing for better comparisons of Volterra's performance with similar companies in Volterra's industry;
-- it allows users to evaluate the results of the business using the same financial measures that management uses to evaluate and manage Volterra's internal planning, budgeting and operations; and
-- it provides investors with additional information used by management, its board of directors and committees thereof, to determine management compensation.
Forecasts of non-GAAP earnings per share may have limitations as an analytical tool, and this non-GAAP financial information is not meant to be considered in isolation or as a substitute for earnings per share prepared in accordance with GAAP.
Forward-Looking Statements:
This press release regarding preliminary financial guidance for the quarter ending June 30, 2007 contains forward-looking statements based on current expectations of Volterra. The words "expect," "will," "should," "would," "anticipate," "project," "outlook," "believe," "intend," and similar phrases as they relate to future events are intended to identify such forward- looking statements. These forward-looking statements reflect the current views and assumptions of Volterra but are subject to various risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from expectations. Among the factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from those in the forward-looking statements are the following: the value of orders received and shipped during the quarter and the costs and expenses associated with the recall are difficult to estimate, the estimates are subject to the Company completing its customary closing and review procedures following the end of the quarter, Volterra's financial performance in the past has fluctuated, Volterra's operating results have fluctuated in the past and may fluctuate in the future, Volterra is subject to inventory risks and manufacturing costs that may negatively impact its operating results, Volterra relies on third party foundries and assembly and test subcontractors and may fail to achieve satisfactory yields or quality, and other factors detailed in Volterra's filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, including the annual report on Form 10-K filed on March 8, 2007 and quarterly report on Form 10-Q filed on May 1, 2007. You are cautioned not to place undue reliance on these forward-looking statements, which speak only as of the date of this press release. The SCO Group Announces Second Quarter 2007 Results
LINDON, Utah, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The SCO Group, Inc. , a leading provider of UNIX(R) software technology and mobile services, today reported results for its second quarter ended April 30, 2007.
Revenue for the second quarter of fiscal year 2007 was $6,014,000, down from $7,126,000 for the comparable quarter of the prior year. The net loss for the second quarter of fiscal year 2007 was $(1,143,000), or $(0.05) per diluted common share, an improvement over the net loss of $(4,694,000), or $(0.22) per diluted common share, for the comparable quarter of the prior year. Revenue for the first two quarters of fiscal year 2007 was $12,029,000, down from $14,469,000 for the first two quarters of the prior fiscal year and the net loss for the first two quarters of fiscal year 2007 was $(2,167,000), or $(0.10) per diluted common share, an improvement over the net loss of $(9,275,000), or $(0.45) per diluted common share for the first two quarters of the prior fiscal year. The decrease in revenue was primarily attributable to continued competitive pressures on the Company's UNIX products and services and the improvement in net loss was primarily attributable to reduced legal costs and operating expenses.
"Even though competition continues to impact our revenue, we are pleased that our legal costs and operating expenses are lower than the comparable prior periods which improved our financial results," said Darl McBride, president and CEO. "We are committed to our strategy of serving our UNIX customers, developing innovative new mobile technologies and protecting our valuable intellectual property."
Legal and related costs incurred in connection with the Company's litigation were $1,066,000 for the second quarter of fiscal year 2007, which was down significantly from costs of $3,762,000 for the comparable quarter of the prior year. Because of the unique and unpredictable nature of the Company's litigation, the occurrence and timing of litigation-related costs is difficult to predict, and will be difficult to predict in the future. While the Company expects to continue to incur legal costs related to its ongoing litigation during the 2007 fiscal year, the Company's expectation is that fiscal 2007 costs will be less than they were for the 2006 fiscal year.
Cash and cash equivalents, available-for-sale marketable securities and restricted cash to be used for certain legal expenditures totaled $11,181,000 as of April 30, 2007, compared to $12,664,000 as of October 31, 2006.
The Company's Business
During the second quarter of fiscal year 2007, the Company worked closely with customers and partners to offer new solutions to the marketplace. The Company announced that it had partnered with April System Design and Alpha Micro to help customers extend the life of their UNIX applications. Through this partnership, customers can convert their green screen UNIX applications to a modern new graphical interface without the need to rewrite applications or make large investments in software development. This saves customers valuable time and money by allowing them to stay on their familiar and reliable SCO UNIX platform while continuing to use their existing applications.
The Company recently announced a new release of HipCheck, a unique mobile technology designed to remotely control and manage UNIX and Windows server and PC systems. The new version of HipCheck extends the product's capabilities in terms of feature sets and the number of mobile handheld devices that are supported.
At the recent CTIA Wireless Show, the Company exhibited many of its current and beta mobile technologies, including a soon to be released mobile technology that enables users to manage their life on the go. The Company's latest release of Shout Postcard received favorable press coverage and product reviews during the CTIA Wireless Show. Shout Postcard is the Company's new mobile technology for sharing life's moments on the go with a personalized, multimedia postcard. Shout Postcard creates a rich, mobile experience by combining pictures, audio and text into a unique postcard that users can share through e-mail or other smart phones. USA Mobility and WeatherBug Professional Form Alliance To Bring Severe Weather Alerts from National Weather Service and WeatherBug's National Network to Enterprise and Government UsersHospitals and Police Departments in States Prone to Severe WeatherAmong First to Trial the Service to Support Mission Critical Applications
ALEXANDRIA, Va. and Germantown, Md., June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- USA Mobility, Inc. , a leading provider of wireless messaging and communications services, and WeatherBug(R), the leading provider of live, local weather information services, today announced an agreement to provide WeatherBug Professional's severe weather alert service to USA Mobility's paging customers and its Sprint GPS-enabled handset customers.
Available immediately, the service integrates live severe weather alerts from the proprietary network of WeatherBug Tracking Stations -- including 8,000 across the United States -- with alerts from the National Weather Service (NWS) and allows enterprise and government users to better plan for the impact that severe weather can have on property and lives as well as better protect and alert citizens in advance of a severe weather event.
Hospitals and police departments in such states as Florida and North Carolina, which are prone to severe weather conditions, are among USA Mobility's first paging customers to use the service. These customers, including the St. John's County Sheriff's Department in St. Augustine, Fla., are using the service to support such mission critical applications as planning for an increase in emergencies due to extreme weather, including a high heat index, freezing temperatures, tornados and hurricanes.
"We are delighted to partner with WeatherBug to provide critical and timely severe weather alerts to our enterprise and government customers," said Mark Garzone, executive vice president of marketing at USA Mobility. "USA Mobility's highly reliable messaging networks, which cover more than 90 percent of the U.S. population, coupled with WeatherBug's superior national weather network will give our emergency care providers and first responders up-to-the-minute information to help them meet their organization's public service objectives."
WeatherBug provides severe weather alerts not available through any other service, and it is the only alerting service system to integrate live information from the WeatherBug Network of more than 8,000 WeatherBug Tracking Stations located throughout the country. These alerts, along with severe weather alerts issued from the NWS, deliver a complete view of conditions outside a user's specific location. Alerts such as wind gust monitoring, lightning detection and warnings and heat index allow users to protect lives and property with reliable, live information. WeatherBug matches weather alerts with each end-user's specific location -- whether it is a building address or for field personnel who move from location to location -- then formats and delivers the appropriate alert message so customers receive precise, relevant and immediate alerts.
Chris Brozenick, vice president of WeatherBug Mobile, said: "With nearly four million paging units in service and 60 percent of the U.S. paging market, USA Mobility represents a great opportunity for us and we are very excited to work with them. By offering their paging and mobile users accurate and reliable severe weather alerts, WeatherBug and USA Mobility are providing a valuable service that can help safeguard property and ensure public safety."

AMICAS Features Next Generation Radiology Workflow Solutions at SIIMRadiology IT leader highlights exclusive solutions designed to grow, run, and optimize radiology operations
BOSTON, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AMICAS, Inc. , a leader in radiology and medical image and information management solutions, will be demonstrating a series of innovations designed to streamline radiology workflow at the 2007 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting from June 7 to June 10, 2007, in Providence, RI.
(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20060202/AMICASLOGO )
"The practice of radiology has never been more challenging than it is today," said Peter McClennen, president and COO of AMICAS. "Radiologists and radiology departments are facing unprecedented exam complexity as a result of advances in imaging science and tremendous growth in exam volume due to increased utilization. These challenges, when coupled with continued reductions in reimbursement, make for a challenging time in radiology. We are excited to share our solutions that are designed to help grow, run, and optimize radiology operations in the face of these challenges."
AMICAS will highlight seven innovative offerings at SIIM:
-- Vision Series(TM) PACS is an industry leading Web-based PACS that
represents years of customer feedback matched with one of the
industry's most innovative engineering teams. Vision Series PACS is
designed to deliver unmatched functionality and productivity to
radiologists, radiology staff, IT support staff, and referring
physicians.
-- RadStream(TM) is a next generation software product designed to
optimize radiology workflow. Above and beyond the significant benefits
of PACS, RadStream is designed to further reduce interruptions by
nearly 25 percent and further improve report turnaround time by 40
percent.
-- Vision Reach(TM) was designed specifically to address the unmet needs
of the referring physician. Using the latest Web-based technologies,
Vision Reach integrates the radiology report with key images and
creates a single "multi-media" report for referring physicians. This
report does not require the installation of any software, which is
expected to improve adoption by referring physicians and should drive
imaging volume.
-- Vision Series RIS, which utilizes a modern Web-based architecture,
provides attractive benefits to ambulatory care practices, imaging
centers, and radiology group practices. This intuitive, robust solution,
which has been well received by customers and prospects alike, supports
a new level of productivity and workflow management.
-- Vision Series Financials is a next generation radiology practice
management and billing software system designed to meet the challenges
of today's complex radiology billing environment. This modern practice
management platform is tightly integrated with other AMICAS revenue
cycle management modules, including Insight Dashboards, Insight
Services, and Vision Series Document Management.
-- Insight Dashboards(TM) is a Web-based business intelligence platform
that provides access to customized, easy-to-read graphical data for key
performance metrics and indicators. AMICAS customers can leverage the
dashboard presentation of their operations to clearly view and
understand their imaging business.
-- Vision Series Document Management is a comprehensive "paperless office"
solution designed to streamline workflow, reduce expenses, and
facilitate compliance with the privacy and security guidelines mandated
by HIPAA. Vision Series Document Management stores and manages every
document electronically, and provides a rapid link to RIS, PACS, and
billing systems.
"SIIM presents a tremendous opportunity for AMICAS to highlight the breadth of products and services we offer and the depth of innovation we are introducing to the market," said Peter McClennen, president and COO of AMICAS. "We believe that AMICAS' focus on solving real-world customer problems - combined with our passion for helping our customers grow, run, and optimize their businesses - differentiates AMICAS in the radiology IT marketplace."

(Logo : http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20000822/MSFTLOGO )

l'environnement Microsoft .NET Micro Framework >>, confie Jerry McGuire,
incorporées telles que l'USB On-The-Go (OTG) haut débit. Blackfin Lockbox
Secure Technology, qui combine des mécanismes matériels et logiciels, permet
aux développeurs d'appliquer des mesures de sécurité afin de protéger le code
et le contenu. Pour de plus amples informations sur Blackfin, consultez la

1-800-FLOWERS.COM Blooms Online With 'The Second Life Summer Flower Show'World's Leading Florist Launches Virtual Greenhouse to Create a Closer Community and Raise Appreciation for the Ways Flowers Enhance Our Lives
CARLE PLACE, N.Y., June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 1-800-FLOWERS.COM , the world's leading florist, has officially opened the doors to a new floral pavilion and greenhouse that will exist solely in the virtual world of Second Life and will offer a world of complimentary flowers for its 6.9 million residents to collect and give to one another.
(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20070507/NYM092LOGO )
Designed to let company and consumer interact with both the openness and anonymity that Second Life allows, the "Summer Flower Show" (to which Second Life residents can teleport in-world or from a landing page at http://www.1800flowers.com/secondlife) will promote greater knowledge and enjoyment of the ways flowers enrich lives by:
* Offering complimentary floral arrangements for residents to carry around
as expressions of their own sentiments and personalities, display in
their own Second Life spaces, or give to others they encounter "in
world." Floral selections reflect the mature social nature of the Second
Life community. "Happy Hour Bouquets," for instance, come in seven
varieties such as "Apple Martini," "Champagne Wishes" and "Cosmopolitan
Bouquet," and are gathered in cocktail glasses and champagne flutes for
vases. Decorative note cards accompanying the bouquets further
facilitate in-world expression, and carry coupons good for real-world
discounts at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM;
* Providing a casual, open environment that is as perfect for hosting an
event as it is a private spot for a rendezvous among a couple or small
group of residents;
* Populating the space with 1-800-FLOWERS.COM representatives who can
dispense knowledge about the meaning and history of different flowers
(drawing on the company's decades of experience in the floral business),
point out interesting features of the space, and even tackle customer
service issues ranging from feedback on the greenhouse, to comments on
the company's real-world products and services. Nearly two dozen
volunteers have been formally trained and will staff shifts in the
greenhouse from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. PDT during the week and 11 a.m. - 5 ]
p.m. PDT on Saturday and Sunday, in addition to appearing in-world
throughout the day. Initially, they will travel around Second Life
promoting the new destination; and
* Staging events, such as roundtable discussions led by 1-800-FLOWERS.COM
founder/CEO Jim McCann (the first of which will take place Friday, June
15, from 10:30 - 11:30 A.M. EDT), a virtual flower bouquet design
contest in July, and a series of focus groups with Second Life
"residents" to solicit opinions on the company's future Second Life
endeavors.
Director of Special Projects, Seth Lasser (avatar: Kal Winkler), says visitors to the Summer Flower Show will be pleasantly surprised to find that the greenhouse centers around experience, entertainment and enhancement of their Second Life personas.
"Erecting a virtual greenhouse is an opportunity to connect with people in a uniquely engaging way," Lasser says. "Creative self-expression is at the very heart of Second Life, and flowers add so much color to those who surround themselves with them or give them to others. We are delighted to offer Second Life members a naturally beautiful space where they can socialize, learn more about flowers and fellow residents, and collect creatively designed bouquets to enhance their in-world personas."
This Second Marketing LLC, a San Francisco-based digital marketing agency that specializes in helping brands enter Second Life, created the greenhouse, and hosts it on its own island, "This Second Island," along with training and demonstration facilities, a nightclub and buildings erected for other clients.
"Second Life offers limitless possibilities for creativity, self- expression and socializing, and its popularity has increased dramatically," says Joni West (avatar: Joni Rich), President, This Second Marketing LLC. "As a result, a growing number of companies are looking to Second Life as a new channel to reach the consuming public, but many have been criticized for being too commercial or for not engaging residents on a personal level. 1-800- FLOWERS.COM has made a bigger commitment, training eager volunteers to go in- world and engage and interact with residents, helping them enjoy their visits to the greenhouse and come away with new information, experiences and virtual accessories to use in both worlds."

Motorola Renews and Expands Its Membership in Chicago Climate ExchangeFirst company to join CCX for global corporate emissions reductions
CHICAGO, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Motorola, Inc. has renewed and expanded its membership in the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX(R)), the world's first and North America's only voluntary but legally binding greenhouse gas emissions reduction, registry and trading system. By becoming a Phase II CCX member, Motorola has committed to tracking and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and to achieving a 6 percent reduction in its greenhouse gas emissions by 2010 below a year 2000 baseline.
Motorola also has become the first member of CCX to include in its commitment all of its worldwide manufacturing sites that currently are not covered under the regulatory emissions reduction requirements of the Kyoto Protocol signatories and the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EUETS). The CCX commitment will include sites in Brazil, China, India, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States, thus making Motorola the first global member of CCX.
CCX establishes a legally binding reduction commitment. Members that reduce emissions beyond the commitment may sell surplus allowances to other members. Participants that do not meet reduction commitments must buy allowances to achieve compliance.
"Motorola is working proactively to manage our impact on climate change by reducing our carbon footprint, using renewable energy and reducing our products' energy usage," said Jodi Shapiro, vice president of environment, health and safety for Motorola. "We value the CCX's innovative, collective approach to addressing climate change and believe Motorola can make a bigger impact when we work together with others."
A CCX founding member, Motorola's objective is to be highly energy efficient and to use renewable energy wherever practical to reduce its carbon footprint. Motorola is the first major cell phone manufacturer to redesign all its new mobile phone and accessory chargers (external power supplies) to be ENERGY STAR-qualified. Since voluntarily signing the European Union "code of conduct on energy efficiency of external power supplies" in 2000, Motorola has reduced the average standby power of its chargers by at least 70 percent.
"We proudly welcome Motorola's decision to continue its membership in CCX and highlight their path-breaking decision to include their global sites not already subject to a regulatory reduction structure," said Dr. Richard L. Sandor, CCX's chairman and CEO. "This shows their leadership and vision, which is consistent with their many environmental initiatives throughout the years, including their role as a founding member of CCX. The use of the CCX Registry and Trading Platform for a global company shows CCX's capacity to address the challenge of climate change from a global standpoint."
About Motorola
Motorola is known around the world for innovation and leadership in wireless and broadband communications. Inspired by our vision of seamless mobility, the people of Motorola are committed to helping you connect simply and seamlessly to the people, information and entertainment that you want and need. We do this by designing and delivering "must have" products, "must do" experiences and powerful networks -- along with a full complement of support services. About Chicago Climate Exchange
CCX is a financial institution whose objectives are to apply financial innovation and incentives to advance social, environmental and economic goals. CCX is the world's first and North America's only legally binding rules-based greenhouse gas emissions allowance trading system, as well as the world's only global system for emissions trading based on all six greenhouse gases. CCX members are leaders in greenhouse gas management and represent all sectors of the global economy, as well as public sector innovators. Reductions achieved through CCX are the only reductions in North America being achieved through a legally binding compliance regime, providing independent third party verification provided by NASD and price transparency. The founder, Chairman and CEO of CCX is economist and financial innovator Dr. Richard L. Sandor, who was named a Hero of the Planet by Time magazine for his founding of CCX. For a full list of CCX members, daily prices and other Exchange information, see http://www.chicagoclimateexchange.com/.
Chicago Climate Futures Exchange (CCFE), a wholly owned subsidiary of CCX, is the world's first and leading environmental derivatives exchange. CCFE currently offers standardized and cleared Sulfur Financial Instrument (SFI) futures and options contracts and Nitrogen Financial Instrument (NFI-OS) futures contracts based on mandatory cap and trade programs created under the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. CCFE has traded over 2 million SO2 allowances in its futures market, making it the world's largest exchange for trading criteria pollutants. Market participants are able to secure price- transparent, standardized futures and options contracts on an anonymous electronic trading platform. The availability of effective hedging tools offered on CCFE, including prompt and deferred years for both futures and options has increased liquidity while easing volatility in the SO2 market.
CCX, a U.S. corporation, launched its trading platform in 2003. In 2005, CCX launched the European Climate Exchange (ECX), now the leading exchange operating in the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme. Since 2006, both CCX and ECX have been owned by Climate Exchange Plc, a publicly traded company listed on the AIM of the London Stock Exchange.

Cleveland Indians Receive Laureate Award From Computerworld Honors Program for Protecting Vital Data With Overland's REO and NEO ProductsGlobal Information Technology Awards Foundation Pays Tribute to Individuals and Organizations that Use Information Technology
SAN DIEGO, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Overland Storage, Inc. today announced that esteemed customer, the Cleveland Indians baseball team, has been bestowed with a Laureate award by IDG's Computerworld Honors Program. This year's honorees were commemorated last night during the 19th annual Laureates Medal Ceremony & Gala Awards event at the Andrew W. Mellon auditorium in Washington, D.C. The Cleveland Indians' award-winning case study, "Best Practices Data Protection for In-House Video Application," was recognized for its highly innovative use of information technology in the Arts & Entertainment category.
As one of the most technologically advanced teams in Major League Baseball, the Cleveland Indians developed a sophisticated in-house video application to capture every at-bat during home games for the purposes of training and advanced scouting. The system, which is accessible through a simple, touch-screen monitor, enables players, coaches and scouts to easily locate and view different images.
The new video system is supported by a complementary disk-to-disk-to-tape (D2D2T) solution from Overland Storage, reducing the team's backup window by more than 50 percent while lowering administrative overhead from 45 minutes daily to nearly nothing. Additionally, Overland's REO(R) 9000 disk-based backup, recovery and virtual tape library (VTL) appliance and NEO(R) 4000 tape library allow the team to dramatically increase the amount of data kept online-storing 21 days of critical operational data on REO and up to 60 days of data and video backups on NEO.
According to Whitney Kuszmaul, network manager for the Cleveland Indians, Overland's best-of-class products play a pivotal role in the team's award- winning D2D2T data protection plan. "We are extremely pleased that our leading-edge data protection plan, featuring Overland's REO and NEO, has been recognized for technical excellence by the prestigious Computerworld Honors Program," he says. "Overland's highly flexible and scalable disk- and tape- based appliances ensure we can continue to embrace the latest video and other technologies to boost productivity and lower operating costs."
Initially populated with 3 TBs, the REO is being expanded to 9 TBs with room to grow to 44 TBs of raw capacity. Meanwhile, the Indians are expanding their NEO library to safeguard online video for every game from all 32 major league teams-totaling some 2,600 games for the 2007 season. "Overland provides the Cleveland Indians with a 'future-proof' solution that meets their ever- increasing backup and recovery requirements while helping take their game to the next level," says Michael Kerman, vice president of worldwide marketing and chief strategy officer for Overland Storage.
Each year, members of the Chairmen's Committee, a group of 100 chairmen/CEOs of global technology companies, nominate individuals and organizations from around the world whose visionary applications of information technology promote positive social and economic progress. "Each laureate selected for this honor understands the importance of using one's resources and technical prowess to benefit one's fellow man," says Bob Carrigan, chairman of the Computerworld Honors Program Committee and president of IDG Communications.
About the Computerworld Honors Program
Founded by International Data Group (IDG) in 1988, the Computerworld Honors Program is governed by the not-for-profit Computerworld Information Technology Awards Foundation. In its 19th year, Computerworld Honors is the longest running global program to honor individuals and organizations that use information technology to benefit society.
Each year, members of the Chairmen's Committee, a group of 100 chairmen/CEOs of global technology companies, nominate individuals and organizations from around the world whose visionary applications of information technology promotes positive social and economic progress. Nominations are evaluated by an independent board of CIO-level judges who select laureates, finalists and award winners in 10 industry-related categories, to be honored at a Laureate Medal Ceremony. This year's ceremony and accompanying Gala Awards Program took place on June 4th at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
The technology achievements honored by this program are preserved and protected in national archives and in over 350 universities, museums and research institutions throughout the world. Additional information about the program and a Global Archive of past laureate case studies and oral histories can be found at the Computerworld Honors website: http://www.cbhonors.org/.

NextMart Provides Update of Expected Fourth Quarter Financial Results and Outlines Business Strategy for 2007-2008
NEW YORK, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NextMart, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: NXMR) , an online trade media and merchant company today announced its preliminary estimates of its financial results for the fourth fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2007. Although the Company has not finalized its financial results for the quarter, revenues are estimated to be in the range of $1.8 million to $2.1 million and the Company expects to report a net loss on a GAAP basis.
The decrease in revenues over the prior quarter is primarily attributable to seasonal fluctuation and repositioning of the Company's apparel business, as well as the discontinuation of the Company's former beverage business in Wuhan, China. The Company's expected loss is primarily due to the write-off of bad debts associated with the discontinuation of the beverage business, as well as the impairment of certain non-core assets and rationalization of certain business units begun in the third fiscal quarter. The Company expects to report a net loss lower than the $27 million net loss reported for the third fiscal quarter.
Dr. Bruno Wu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NextMart, Inc. commented, "Although we are expecting a loss in Q4, particularly due to the discontinuation of our former beverage distribution business and divestment of non-core assets and business units, we have progressed with our restructuring efforts begun in the third fiscal quarter. We have enhanced our operating structure and rationalized our supporting assets to ensure they directly support our core transactional business in the area of women's fashion."
The Company's restructuring milestones have included: (a) significant reduction of total overhead, consisting mainly of non-operating expenses; (b) further divestment of non-core assets that did not support the Company's renewed focus on women's fashion and apparel; (c) contract for the repurchase of 28.5 million company shares that will be cancelled, thereby reducing overall outstanding share count.
Dr. Bruno Wu continued, "We are working toward a smaller organizational structure centered around William's Brand, our brand apparel and production management subsidiary. In fiscal 2008, we plan to build revenues by leveraging our core competency in online marketing, design, production and channel management in the area of women's fashion and apparel. Our goal is to develop China's largest online shopping community for wholesale distribution and retail shopping in this industry sector."
Going forward the Company plans to pave the way for new revenues by streamlining all business development efforts of the women's apparel business into two key areas: (1) Creating organic growth in its existing wholesale distribution/business-to-business ("B2B") operations and (2) Creating new growth within the retail shopping/business-to-consumer ("B2C") sector. Management expects the Company to return to operational profitability in fiscal 2008 and plans to issue financial guidance at a later stage once the Company progresses with its B2B and B2C growth initiatives.
In fiscal 2008, key initiatives for the wholesale distribution/B2B sector will be:
(1) Adding B2B Clients. NextMart will attempt to sign up additional
foreign brands and wholesalers for outsourced brand management and
apparel design/production.
(2) Providing B2B Technical Services. The Company plans to provide
technical services (mainly virtual exhibition and e-commerce) to
other e-commerce providers in exchange for transactional commissions
on sales generated through their websites.
Key initiatives for creating growth in the retail shopping/B2C sector will be:
(1) Building a Direct Sales & Marketing Platform. Online, the Company
plans to develop a digital product catalog for distribution via the
Company's Credit 114 database and Her Village's female consumer
database. Offline, the Company will explore partnerships and/or
acquisitions of direct mail-order catalog companies.
(2) NextMart Private Labels. The Company plans to leverage its design,
production and brand-building capabilities to launch its own private
labels. These private labels will be sold through NextMart's direct
sales & marketing platform, allowing the Company to integrate its
vertical operations and earn a higher return on sales.
(3) NextPay Services. The Company plans to market its NextPay Services as
the back-end payment system for its online wholesale distribution and
retail shopping operations. NextPay will be offered primarily through
fixed-line telephones. Eventually, the Company also plans to offer
NextPay through mobile phones by way of a national strategic
partnership.

ANADIGICS Powers Emerging Markets CDMA450 3G Cell Phones With Small and Efficient Linear Power Amplifier
WARREN, N.J., June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ANADIGICS, Inc. (http://www.anadigics.com/) today announced the availability of its AWT6388, a linear power amplifier (PA) for the CDMA450-based cell phones and wireless local loop applications that bring affordable 3G voice and data communications to wide areas in emerging and developed countries.
With deployments under way or completed by 103 operators in 60 countries, CDMA450 service is expanding rapidly around the globe, according to the CDMA Development Group (CDG) (http://www.cdg.org/) and International 450 Association (IA450) (http://www.450world.org/). China, Indonesia, Mexico and Russia are among the large markets that have allocated the 450 MHz frequency band to provide universal telephone and Internet access. Commercial service is already being provided to 12 million people by 67 operators in 36 countries.
"As the leading supplier of CDMA and 3G power amplifiers, ANADIGICS has introduced the AWT6388 as the smallest and most-efficient solution for the fast emerging 450MHz market," said Dr. Ali Khatibzadeh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Wireless Products at ANADIGICS. "CDMA450 offers an attractive solution for fixed and mobile, high-speed communications and represents a significant growth opportunity for our CDMA business. The AWT6388 delivers high efficiency for longer talk times and it is compatible with the leading CDMA chipset supporting CDMA2000 and EVDO data and multimedia services."
The ANADIGICS AWT6388 PA offers high power and low receive band noise (-134 dBm/Hz) for outstanding performance over the extended coverage areas of wide area CDMA450 networks.
At 4 x 4 x 1 mm, the AWT6388 has a significantly smaller footprint than the 6 x 6 mm of previous designs. It is built using ANADIGICS' InGaP HBT technology for outstanding reliability, temperature stability, and ruggedness. ANADIGICS' power amplifiers are manufactured using a material set consistent with the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).
In addition to high power added efficiency, the AWT6388 features a low- power quiescent current mode to further reduce power drain on the system battery. These power-saving measures make it possible to design handsets for longer operation between battery charges, an important consideration in remote areas with limited access to electrical power.

Lockheed Martin Team Delivers Key Software For Ground Component of Space-Based Missile Warning SystemSystem Required to Launch First GEO Satellite Ready Three Months Early
BOULDER, Colo., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lockheed Martin team developing the Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) has successfully delivered key ground segment software to support the launch of the program's first geosynchronous (GEO-1) satellite. SBIRS will provide the nation with greatly enhanced missile warning capabilities and support other vital mission areas simultaneously including missile defense, technical intelligence and battlespace characterization.
Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Services builds and maintains the SBIRS ground segment. The software block, known as GEO Early On-Orbit Test (GEOT-D) was delivered to Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, Sunnyvale, Calif., prime contractor for the SBIRS program, three months ahead of schedule. This is the first software delivery capable of supporting a GEO launch.
"With the completion of this milestone, the Lockheed Martin SBIRS Ground Segment team has illustrated its continued focus on customer satisfaction," said John Mengucci, president of the Mission & Combat Support Solutions business unit. "We are on schedule and well-positioned to continue to meet program commitments."
The GEOT-D software, which includes 1.6 million source lines of code, provides functionality for launch of the GEO-1 satellite. Subsequent ground segment deliveries will provide capabilities for early orbit testing and initial GEO operations, followed by the full capabilities block to operate the Defense Support Program, and SBIRS highly elliptical orbit (HEO) and GEO spacecraft constellation. Each of these operational blocks will provide new surveillance capabilities to the warfighter.
Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company and payload subcontractor Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, Azusa, Calif., are developing SBIRS for the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center. Air Force Space Command operates the SBIRS system.
"As a result of sustained energy and focus, our team has greatly improved program execution, completed key milestones on time and is on a continuous effort to improve quality," said Mark Crowley, Lockheed Martin SBIRS vice president and program manager. "SBIRS will deliver revolutionary new detection and surveillance capabilities and we look forward to achieving mission success for our customer."
Lockheed Martin is currently under contract to provide two HEO payloads and two GEO satellites, as well as the ground-based assets to receive and process the infrared data. The first HEO payload has completed initial on- orbit deployment and checkout and demonstrated that its performance meets or exceeds specifications.
Development of GEO-1 is progressing following a successful completion of spaceraft bus engineering thermal vacuum testing. The GEO 1 payload is currently in the midst of thermal vacuum protoqualification testing at Northrop Grumman. Payload delivery is scheduled for mid-2007 for final spacecraft assembly, integration and test leading to satellite delivery in late 2008.
Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employees about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2006 sales of $39.6 billion.

Verizon Wireless is Having a COW at Laconia 'Bike Week'Temporary, Portable Cell Site to Handle Increased Wireless Usage During Week-Long Motorcycle Extravaganza
WOBURN, Mass., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless is beefing up its network capacity during Laconia Motorcycle Week, June 9th - 17th, by activating a temporary cell site in Weirs Beach.
The Cell on Wheels (or COW) is a mobile cell site that enhances wireless capacity - allowing more customers to concurrently place calls, exchange messages, and download content.
Verizon Wireless maintains a fleet of portable transmitters to support its network when highly populated events, or weather disasters such as a hurricane or major flood, suddenly stimulate increased wireless voice and data usage.
"The presence of a mobile COW will enhance our network capacity during the event," said Richard Enright, director of network performance for Verizon Wireless New England. "We're constantly investing, engineering and deploying resources to stay ahead of growing demand for our products and services."
Verizon Wireless has invested $35 billion in the last seven years -- $5 billion on average every year since the company was formed -- to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. Across New England, the company invested $318 million in 2006 alone for its regional wireless network build-out.
Quick Facts on the Cell on Wheels (COW)
- The temporary cell site is equivalent to the highest capacity stationary
site presently available in the Verizon Wireless network -- able to
process thousands of calls every hour.
- The trucks are specially-equipped with $500,000 in sophisticated mobile
equipment.
- The 25,000 lb. vehicle features a 55 ft. retractable mast. In the
interest of emergency preparedness, the vehicle is fully self-contained
with equipment, fuel, electrical generators, food, water, cots, etc.
Verizon Wireless' team of real-life test men and women, backed by the company's network operations team, test and re-test performance and durability of the wireless network year round. Nationally, the network test team-referred to as baseline engineers-drives 98 specially-equipped vehicles almost 1 million miles every year to test wireless call quality and reliability. Vehicles are equipped with computers that automatically make more than 3 million voice call attempts and more than 16 million data tests annually on Verizon Wireless' network and the networks of other carriers.
