Authentidate eBilling Connector for Electronic Invoicing Achieves 'Powered by SAP NetWeaver(R)' StatusProvides Electronic Invoices with Signatures in Accordance with The Value Added Tax Act, Directly From SAP(R) Solutions Based on SAP NetWeaver

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J. and DUSSELDORF, Germany, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Authentidate Deutschland today announced that its Authentidate eBilling Connector version 30.1 for electronic invoicing has achieved "Powered by SAP NetWeaver(R)" status as business content for the SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI) component. The Authentidate eBilling Connector, which works exclusively with Authentidate signature products, was developed by TietoEnator TOPAS GmbH, a SAP(R) Special Expertise Partner of SAP Germany. Authentidate Deutschland, a subsidiary of Authentidate Holding Corp. , is a worldwide secure enterprise workflow management application provider.

The SAP Integration and Certification Center has certified that the Authentidate eBilling Connector properly integrates with SAP NetWeaver XI in order to exchange critical data with the SAP Business Suite family of solutions and is integrated successfully with the SAP NetWeaver Portal. An "out-of-the-box" connection between Authentidate signature products and SAP solutions is possible with the connector. Electronic invoices can consequently be generated in SAP and applications automatically signed in conformity with the law.

Electronically signed invoices can be used to automatically deduct Value Added Tax in Europe and sales tax elsewhere without additional paper invoicing. The invoices can then be automatically posted into SAP solutions using the SAP ArchiveLink(TM) interface and further processed with SAP finance and SAP material management applications.

The Authentidate eBilling Connector supports various invoice formats such as IDOCs, CSV, ASCII and PDF on the basis of openTRANS XML. eBilling form templates and languages can be tailored for each user organization's unique needs.

The certified Authentidate eBilling Connector, now powered by SAP NetWeaver, is delivered with add-ons for SAP solutions that support invoice sender and recipient. Therefore, detailed process monitoring becomes possible. In addition, the check of the signatures of the electronic invoices that is required by the legislature can be automatically initiated via the add-ons for SAP solutions. The Authentidate eBilling Connector can also be used when invoice recipients do not have SAP solutions because of the use of standards.

"The certified integration of our Authentidate eBilling Connector makes it possible for users of SAP solutions to securely send and receive signed electronic invoices from any SAP solution-based system," said Jan C. Wendenburg, chief executive officer of Authentidate International AG, the parent company of Authentidate Deutschland GmbH. "By securely sharing information electronically, users will be able to cut costs by leveraging the functionality provided by SAP NetWeaver XI."

The SAP NetWeaver platform powers the SAP Business Suite family of applications, SAP xApps(TM) packaged composite applications, and solutions such as Authentidate eBilling Connector. SAP NetWeaver unifies integration technologies into a single platform and is pre-integrated with business applications, enabling change and reducing the need for custom integration.

Newport News Residents to See More Choice, Competition as Verizon Obtains Cable Franchise for CityCity Council Approves Franchise Covering More than 70,000 Households; Verizon Offers FiOS TV to More than 8,200 City Households Today; Will Expand Rollout Rapidly over Next Few Years

NEWPORT NEWS, Va., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- More residents of Newport News are a step closer to having choice for their cable television services, thanks to a vote by the Newport News City Council Tuesday night (June 12) authorizing Verizon to offer its fiber-optic-powered FiOS TV.

The cable franchise covers more than 70,000 households in the city. Verizon currently offers FiOS TV to more than 8,200 households in Newport News and will expand service availability to more households over the next several years.

Verizon began offering FiOS TV in Newport News in late April under the "ordinance franchise" rules in a new law passed last year to accelerate choice and competition for cable television services. The negotiated franchise approved by the City Council will be effective retroactively to April 18.

Verizon is providing FiOS services on the nation's most advanced digital, all-fiber-optic network. Only Verizon's FiOS network has earned the certification of the independent Fiber to the Home Council for providing fiber all the way to customers' homes.

"It's clear from the tremendous demand for FiOS TV that Virginians want choice and competition for their TV service," said Robert W. Woltz Jr., president of Verizon Virginia. "FiOS TV offers an innovative, reliable and competitive alternative to the incumbent cable provider -- powered by our lightning-fast fiber-optic network.

"Newport News residents are saying 'yes' to FiOS TV in rapidly growing numbers, and we hope to increase those numbers even more as we build our all- fiber network in the city."

Newport News joins 18 other Virginia municipalities, including neighboring Virginia Beach, that have awarded franchises to Verizon. The company also has begun franchise negotiations with Chesapeake city officials.

In addition to Virginia, Verizon currently offers FiOS TV in parts of nine other states: California, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.

FiOS TV offers a broad collection of all-digital programming, 23 high- definition channels in the Hampton Roads market, video on demand and more. It is delivered over Verizon's fiber-to-the-premises network, which has industry- leading quality and reliability. Fiber delivers amazingly sharp pictures and sound, and has the capacity to transmit a wide array of high-definition programming that is so clear and intense it seems to leap from the TV screen.

In addition to FiOS TV, Verizon's fiber network also allows the company to offer consumers and businesses crystal-clear voice service and high-speed FiOS Internet service at download speeds of up to 30 Mbps (megabits per second) and upload speeds up to 5 Mbps.* FiOS Internet service currently is available to many consumers and small businesses in Newport News.

    * NOTE: actual (throughput) speeds will vary.

Verizon Communications Inc. , headquartered in New York, is a leader in delivering broadband and other wireline and wireless communication innovations to mass market, business, government and wholesale customers. Verizon Wireless operates America's most reliable wireless network, serving 60.7 million customers nationwide. Verizon's Wireline operations include Verizon Business, which delivers innovative and seamless business solutions to customers around the world, and Verizon Telecom, which brings customers the benefits of converged communications, information and entertainment services over the nation's most advanced fiber-optic network. The total 2007 donation is valued at more than $450,000; and, with the help of the USO, the cards will be distributed to military personnel who are stationed overseas. This donation builds on more than 85 years of AT&T support for U.S. military families and a 20-year partnership with the USO. The company also has provided a $300,000 sponsorship to support USO entertainment tours in 2007.

The latest donation marks 20,000 phone cards donated thus far this year via direct handouts with the USO. This set of 10,000 phone cards will be distributed on overseas military bases and during USO entertainment tours that are slated for the weeks following Father's Day. According to AT&T, this donation is in honor of U.S. military dads, whether they are on active duty or whether they have a son, daughter, or wife who is actively serving.

In the coming weeks, the USO will help AT&T distribute the phone cards to troops throughout Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, South Korea and Japan. Each donated phone card will provide 20 minutes of free talk-time from Iraq to the U.S.

"Many military families will be missing Dad this Father's Day," said Carmen Nava, AT&T senior vice president-Distribution. "In salute to U.S. military dads everywhere, we hope this donation will help ease some of the challenges posed by distance, time zones and ongoing military duties -- and bring loved ones closer together."

The donation builds on AT&T's commitment to help keep military families connected: Since January 2006, AT&T has donated nearly 200,000 prepaid phone cards -- valued at nearly $1.8 million -- to U.S. military members and their families. In the past 20 years, AT&T has contributed tens of millions of dollars to the USO in support of Operation USO Care Package, Operation Phone Home(R) and USO entertainment tours. AT&T also has helped the USO enhance troop morale through funding regional operations in Europe, Southwest Asia and the Pacific.

Since 1941, the USO has provided morale, welfare and recreation-type programs and services to enhance the quality of life for military personnel and their families around the world. The USO currently operates more than 130 centers, including 10 mobile canteens, and offers free Internet and e-mail access, prepaid phone cards, entertainment and lounge areas, libraries, travel assistance and refreshments. USO entertainment tours bring volunteer celebrities to entertain and lift the morale of troops and to express the gratitude and support of the American people.

For more than 85 years, AT&T has remained dedicated to supporting active military personnel, their families and veterans through charitable contributions, sponsorships, the hiring of military veterans and maintaining policies that support reservists when called to duty. Since 2000, AT&T has donated nearly $8 million in free prepaid phone cards to military members and has provided nearly $6 million in grants that support military members and related nonprofit organizations. The company has also built 70 calling centers for military members who are stationed in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan so that they may stay in touch with their families.

China Public Security Announces Proposed Amendment of Commercial Arrangements with iASPEC

SHENZHEN, China, June 13 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- China Public Security Technology, Inc., (BULLETIN BOARD: CPBY) ("China Public Security" or "the Company"), through its wholly owned subsidiary, Public Security Technology (PRC) Co., Ltd., a leading provider of public security information technology and Geographic Information Systems ("GIS") software services, announced today that it is planning to restructure its commercial arrangements with iASPEC Software Engineering Company Limited or iASPEC, a related party that has engaged the Company as its exclusive subcontractor for all public security information technology and GIS development and installation services that it provides to its clients.

China Public Security anticipates that the proposed amendment will provide it with, among other things:

-- the assignment of all of iASPEC's revenues and expenses, and rights to, or rights to acquire for nominal consideration, iASPEC's assets -- an exclusive option to acquire all of the oustanding equity of iASPEC that would be exercisable by the Company or its subsidiaries only if PRC regulations are modified to permit foreign ownership of PRC companies that hold security licenses similar to those held by iASPEC -- a voting agreement that would provide the Company with control over iASPEC corporate decision making under certain circumstances

China Public Security is seeking to implement the Amendments to its commercial arrangements with iASPEC in part so that its interest in iASPEC will be accounted for as an interest in a variable interest entity under FASB interpretation No. 46. China Public Security believes that the modifications to its corporate structure and accounting treatment will result in greater transparency for investors and the ability to exert greater control over the business and affairs of iASPEC. China Public Security expects to implement this amendment before the end of its second fiscal quarter.

"We believe the proposed amendment of our commercial arrangements with iASPEC will give us all of the benefits of ownership, along with the financial reporting transparency that results from consolidated financial reporting under Fin. 46," said Mr. Jiang Huai Lin, the Company's CEO. "We believe that the revised structure will enhance our corporate governance and investor confidence, while enabling the Company to continue to grow our share in the very exciting market providing IT solutions for public security and Geographic Information System (GIS) related projects in the PRC."

STMicroelectronics Unveils Design Platform for Low-Power Next-Generation 45nm CMOSST Confirms Early Availability of Design Platform for Power-Optimized System-on-Chip Solutions, Including 45nm Libraries and First Tape-Out of 45nm SoC Demonstrator IC

CROLLES, France, June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- STMicroelectronics , one of the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers, today unveiled details of its 45nm (0.045-micron) CMOS design platform for next- generation System-on-Chip (SoC) product development for low-power, wireless and portable consumer applications.

ST's innovative low-power process option with multiple threshold transistors cuts the silicon area by half compared to designs implemented in 65nm technology. At the same time, the process improves speed by up to 20% or reduces leakage current by half while in operation, and, in retention mode, reduces leakage current by several orders of magnitude. This latter option will bring important benefits to designers of portable products, where battery life is a significant factor.

The leading-edge 45nm low-power CMOS platform has already been used to complete, or tape-out, the design of a highly integrated 45nm demonstrator SoC device. This chip design includes an advanced dual-core CPU system and associated memory hierarchy, featuring the sophisticated low-power techniques required at the 45nm process technology node to combine new levels of performance with very low power consumption.

The new low-power design platform, which takes full advantage of the multiple features and modularity of 45nm process technology, was developed at the STMicroelectronics site in Crolles, near Grenoble, France, and verified at the 300mm wafer facility operated by the Crolles2 Alliance.

"Early access to low-power 45nm CMOS technology is crucial to industry- leading manufacturers in their development of new wireless and portable consumer products, especially for next-generation 3G and 4G handheld multimedia terminals," said Laurent Bosson, Executive Vice-President of Manufacturing and Technology R&D, STMicroelectronics. "The silicon developed using ST's low-power 45nm CMOS platform will enable applications to combine very high performance with low power consumption."

In common with other 45nm platforms being readied for deployment, ST's low-power 45nm process features all of the advanced modules required for high density and high performance. These important modules include: 193nm immersion lithography for critical patterning layers; shallow-trench isolation and transistor stressors; advanced junction engineering, using millisecond anneal; and very low-k inter-metal copper dielectric, allowing reduced interconnect capacitances. In addition two cell libraries are available: one optimized for high performance and the other for low power consumption, giving designers a rich selection of options.

The 45nm design platform is fully supported by the industry-leading CAD tools from Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Synopsys and Magma through design solutions that have been developed in partnership between ST and the respective EDA companies' individual R&D groups, allowing customers to immediately begin designing advanced SoC solutions using familiar industry- standard tools.

Texas Instruments Sees Dramatic Results from New Chip Material, Addresses Power Leakage, Scaling for 45-nm and BeyondHigh-k Approach Delivers Largest Reported Reduction in Power Drain without Sacrificing Other Key Parameters

DALLAS, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) today announced plans to integrate a "high-k" value material within the transistors in its most advanced, high performance 45-nanometer (nm) chip products. For years, high-k dielectrics have been under consideration to address leakage, or power drain, which has become increasingly problematic as transistor dimensions continue to shrink. Through its approach, TI will reduce leakage by more than 30 times per unit area as compared with commonly used silicon oxide (SiO2) gate dielectrics. In addition, TI's high-k choice offers the compatibility, reliability and scalability to continue delivery of high volume, high performance and low power semiconductor solutions through the 45-nm and 32-nm process nodes.

"TI has been at the forefront of Hafnium-based research and development for nearly a decade, and we're confident that our high-k choice overcomes the technological hurdles faced through continued digital CMOS scaling and the transition to smaller process geometries," said Dr. Hans Stork, chief technology officer, Texas Instruments. "By moving forward with high-k at 45-nm, TI continues its commitment to deliver high performance, low power and cost-effective products to our customers."

    TI's 45-nm Process

Last June, TI unveiled details of its 45-nm process that will double output per wafer through use of 193-nm immersion lithography. Through a number of techniques TI will also achieve a 30 percent increase in performance of its SoC processors, while reducing power consumption 40 percent. TI expects to sample a 45-nm wireless product in 2007, with qualified production starting by the middle of 2008. High-k dielectrics will be added in later versions of the 45-nm process for TI's highest performance products.

Several 45-nm recipes address customers' unique end-product requirements and provide options for creating flexible, optimized designs. These options include a low power offering that extends battery life in portable products, while delivering the necessary performance for advanced multimedia functionality in tightly integrated SoC designs. A mid-range process supports TI DSPs and the high performance ASIC library for communications infrastructure products. The third, highest performance 45-nm process option supports MPU-class performance and is expected to be the first process to integrate the high-k material.

    HfSiON Technical Overview

TI will leverage a chemical vapor deposition process (CVD) to deposit Hafnium Silicon Oxide (HfSiO) followed by reaction with a downstream nitrogen plasma to form HfSiON. While the benefits of Hafnium-based dielectrics have been widely recognized for the impact on leakage, implementation has previously presented several hurdles. Issues include electrical compatibility with standard CMOS processes, as well as challenges in matching the carrier mobility and threshold voltage stability that SiO2-based gate dielectrics have previously delivered. However, by implementing the nitrided CVD technique, TI is able to solve the leakage issue without degradation of the other key parameters that customers have come to expect from SiO2-based gate dielectrics. TI's approach reduces leakage significantly over any of the SiO2-based material options.

The nitridation of CVD HfSiON film also delivers the scalability that supports the performance, power consumption and gate length requirements outlined through the 32-nm node. Through a modular addition to the typical CMOS gate stack process, HfSiON integration has been demonstrated offering mobility that is 90 percent of the silicon dioxide universal mobility curve, with effective oxide thicknesses (EOTs) below 1-nm. These results were accomplished without sacrificing reliability or adding significant cost to the CMOS process. Precise tuning of the film composition, tight controls, and high throughput also make HfSiON suitable for high volume manufacturing.

TI's extensive research includes the composition, process optimization and characterization of HfSiON gate dielectric films. In addition, TI's efforts are fully compatible with its 45-nm metal gate strategy.

Alcatel-Lucent Announces Software Platform That Lets Mobile Operators Capitalize on the Increasing Demand for Mobile Content Shopping

PARIS, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced the availability of the enhanced Alcatel-Lucent 5965 Mobile Content Platform, a powerful software platform that changes the way mobile content is delivered to mobile phone users. With the new release, operators can create a personalized mobile shopping experience for targeted subscriber segments based on individual interests and behaviour, and improve the overall quality of their service with expert content management, merchandizing and delivery of mobile advertising and entertainment. The Alcatel-Lucent 5965 Mobile Content Platform gives operators the tools needed to create a simplified one-stop shop for mobile content, providing the integrated shopping experience subscribers are looking for.

Today, mobile content is typically sorted by content type rather than by brand, requiring subscribers to search through multiple levels of menus to find the content they want to buy. For example, a subscriber interested in purchasing content relating to U2 or another favourite music group or artist, would likely visit their operator's portal and see a ringtones menu, a graphics menu and a video menu and have to navigate each one separately. Alternatively, subscribers could shop at other mobile web sites (off portal). At no time, however would subscribers be able to see everything relating to U2 or their preferred artist. In addition the operator may not be able to capture a record of their buying preferences.

With the Alcatel-Lucent 5965 Mobile Content Platform, this dynamic changes, and operator's existing content systems (e.g. video, music, games, etc.) can be used to drive marketing campaigns and gain the intelligence to help them sell more. For the end user, the ability of the operator to support content both on and off their network, enables the subscriber to quickly see the content and brands they care about regardless of content type or where it is hosted. In addition, the operator can track purchases and based on that intelligence send targeted advertisements or special offers for related entertainment or brand specific promotions such as buy one get one free or earn a free ringtone.

The Alcatel-Lucent 5965 Mobile Content Platform is a software platform that can be added to mobile networks without replacing existing content systems enabling operators to quickly begin delivering revenue-generating new services.

"The mobile phone is a highly personal communication channel. This goes beyond simple advertising. It is this kind of relevant, interactive experience that brands want and subscribers appreciate," said Scott Ellison, VP Consumer Mobile Research at IDC. "This release offers new opportunities for operators to turn their content investment into a profitable revenue stream through higher subscriber usage and brand revenue."

Today's product announcement also coincides with the release of new user survey data from The Worldwide Lab at Alcatel-Lucent, a primary research program designed to understand the preferences of teens and young adults. The new survey data highlights growing market demand from the Internet generation for personalized advertising and awareness campaigns that deliver relevant content.

"Our research has shown that teens and young adults want to find and interact with the brands they care about," said Margaret Norton, Vice President of Mobile Content Platforms at Alcatel-Lucent. "Subscribers continue to be surprised at the lack of visible, relevant brands on their mobiles. They want to be marketed to as they are on the Internet, at the mall and on TV. With the new release of the Alcatel-Lucent 5965 Mobile Content Platform, mobile operators can take advantage of this market demand and revenue opportunity."

In addition to its orchestration capability, the Alcatel-Lucent 5965 Mobile Content Platform includes a set of tools that can be used across existing content components from marketing to delivery. For example, if an operator has a video server but needs the most current solution for Digital Rights Management (DRM), the Alcatel-Lucent 5965 Mobile Content Platform can supply it.

About The Worldwide Lab at Alcatel-Lucent

Microsoft Products Preferred by European Schools

    PARIS, June 13 /PRNewswire/ --

    - New study finds that Microsoft products are better suited to teaching and learning, compared with open source solutions.

Satisfaction with Microsoft(R) products is higher among European students and schools, when compared with similar open source software (OSS) solutions, according to a new report by Wipro Technologies. The results of the study released today, was commissioned by Microsoft and audited by Professor Soumitra Dutta of INSEAD Business School.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20000822/MSFTLOGO )

Wipro's Product Strategy and Architecture (PSA) practice compared the use and benefits of the two platforms in 73 schools across six European countries. The findings state that user satisfaction with Microsoft software is high among both student and teacher communities, who find Microsoft products easier to use, richer in functionality, better integrated and better suited to supporting education activities than OSS alternatives. In addition, Microsoft products were considerably less expensive to manage and maintain than open source equivalents, counteracting the perceived cost savings from OSS's lack of licensing costs.

"In conducting this study, we found that the schools' responses were quite consistent across the countries included in the study," said Theodore Forbath, the Practice Leader of Wipro PSA. "Overall, our findings indicate that Microsoft outperforms Open Source alternatives when it comes to supporting the priorities of European schools."

    Key findings

    The Wipro report finds that:

-- In schools where both Microsoft Office and Open Office are available, student and teacher satisfaction with Microsoft is consistently higher. For desktop productivity, 48-50 per cent of schools reported that student satisfaction with Microsoft products is higher than with OSS, but only 17-26 per cent reported the same for the open source platform.

-- In terms of its support for student and teacher activities, Microsoft receives a higher rating than OSS in eight out of ten areas, in the two remaining areas the platforms were rated equally. Teachers reported that Microsoft offers stronger solutions for learning-management scenarios such as monitoring, grading and collaborating on assignments online with students and parents.

-- Despite the lack of licensing costs for OSS solutions, the schools benefit from Microsoft's lower ongoing support costs, fewer failures, and less time devoted to troubleshooting. The study found that OSS solutions required just over 105 hours ICT support per month, in comparison to Microsoft solutions that required just over 87 hours per month (based on the report average of 148 PCs per school).

"This study echoes what we hear every day -- that teachers, administrators, parents and students see technology as a powerful aid to teaching, learning and employability, and that Microsoft's products offer a high degree of functionality and value," said Mark East, general manager of Microsoft's Education Solutions Group in Europe Middle East and Africa. "At Microsoft, we will continue to build innovative teaching tools and scenarios by collaborating with students and teachers from around the globe."

    A closer look at costs

Overall, schools primarily using Microsoft solutions invest 16.9 per cent less resources in IT support than schools using primarily OSS solutions. In Poland, however, this figure is 37.86 per cent less, reflecting the limited availability of OSS support resources in that country. Wipro calculates that for a country such as France, which has 1.9 million PCs deployed in its schools, this translates into an annual difference of more than 36 million euros in total IT labour costs. The equivalent figure for the UK is 48 million euros.

PC failures are 50 per cent more common in the schools using OSS than in schools using Microsoft overall, and schools with experience of both platforms find that troubleshooting and resolution activities for Microsoft products were better defined and better documented.

"Prior to our deployment of the Microsoft educational platform our information resources suffered from disorgansation," said Pablo Huerga Melcon, Coordinator of ICT at IES Rosario de Acuna, a secondary school in Gijon, Spain. "Students had difficulty locating important documents and teachers struggled to organise course materials and monitor the progress of students. Since the deployment, these problems have been resolved, and our student and teacher populations are more productive than ever."

    Research programme

Between May 2006 and February 2007, research was conducted in 73 primary and secondary schools located in France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The two-phase study included written surveys and follow-up interviews aimed at comparing and benchmarking the value of Microsoft and open source platforms for teaching, learning and administration. Support costs were also investigated. The study was commissioned by Microsoft, conducted by Wipro and audited by Professor Dutta.

    (Logo : http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20000822/MSFTLOGO )

Micrel Previews Industry Breakthrough SuperLNR(TM) Family of Low Noise Regulators Featuring Efficiency of Switching Regulators

    SAN JOSE, California, June 13 /PRNewswire/ --

Micrel Inc., (Nasdaq: MCRL), an industry leader in analog, high bandwidth communications and Ethernet IC solutions, today previewed a new family of 'SuperLNRs' (Low Noise Regulators) that feature the advantages and ease of use of LDOs with low noise, high PSRR, ultra-fast transient performance, while providing the efficiency of a switching regulator. Micrel's new SuperLNR family combines the "good" characteristics of both linear regulators and DC-to-DC converters to produce a new generation of easy-to-use Low Noise Regulators. The MIC38300, the first device in this family, is a 3A voltage regulator housed in a tiny 4mm x 6mm MLF(R) package that produces less than 5mV of output noise and 70dB of PSRR. Industry leading, ultra-fast dynamic performance also allows the MIC38300 to maintaining less than 30mV of output voltage deviation even during fast load transients. The IC is targeted at applications that need an easy upgrade from LDOs as power dissipation becomes an issue or where low-noise performance, small size and fast transient performance are paramount. Target markets include point-of-load and digital IC power regulators for networking, servers, wireless base stations, industrial and RF applications. The IC is available in sample quantities with pricing starting at US$3.95 for 1K quantities.

"As supply voltages continue to move lower, the output noise and transient response associated with a switching regulator poses a significant challenge for engineers," noted Ralf Muenster, Micrel's marketing director for power products. "The MIC38300 creates the perfect low noise power supply for voltage sensitive point-of-load applications while combining the efficiency of a switcher with ease-of-use, transient performance and the low noise of an LDO -- all resulting in an extremely small solution size that fits into the footprint of an LDO."

The MIC38300 features an input voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V and adjustable output voltages as low as 1V. The solution requires no external inductor and fits into a total solution footprint of less than 40mm squared. The MIC38300 has a junction operating range from -40 deg C to +125 deg C.

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Micrel Inc., , an industry leader in analog, high bandwidth communications and Ethernet IC solutions, today previewed a new family of 'SuperLNRs' (Low Noise Regulators) that feature the advantages and ease of use of LDOs with low noise, high PSRR, ultra-fast transient performance, while providing the efficiency of a switching regulator. The IC is available in sample quantities with pricing starting at $3.95 for 1K quantities.

    SAN JOSE, Californie, June 13 /PRNewswire/ --
