Original Program From Ogilvy Bows on Web for Hellmann's'In Search of Real Food' Features Celebrity Chef Dave LiebermanAiring on Yahoo! Food -- Produced by New Production Company -- Rock Shrimp

NEW YORK, June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- On behalf of Unilever's Hellmann's brand, Ogilvy's Branded Content & Entertainment group has teamed with Rock Shrimp production company, a collaboration between Bobby Flay and Embassy Row's Michael Davies and Kim Martin, to debut an original web-based series on Yahoo! Food, featuring celebrity chef Dave Lieberman entitled, "In Search of Real Food," a theme that echoes Hellmann's "Real Food" marketing position (http://food.yahoo.com/realfood).

Media partner Yahoo! has created a hub that will house the new series of 12 shows that will air on a weekly basis beginning on June 28th. The series will follow Dave Lieberman's on-the-road travels throughout the country as he seeks out the people, places, and recipes that are at the heart of Real Food in America. A key aim of the program will be to generate a dialogue around what real food actually means to people on an individual level -- viewers will be invited to respond to Dave's blog as well as submit their own videos featuring personal real food stories and recipes.

"In Search of Real Food" marks the debut of acclaimed chef and Food Network star Bobby Flay as Executive Producer of an original series. Flay is producing the program through his newly formed production company, Rock Shrimp Productions, a venture with Michael Davies' Embassy Row through its Factual Division headed by Kim Martin, who also serves as Executive Producer of the program in association with Ogilvy's Branded Content & Entertainment Group and Yahoo!. Embassy Row has brought a wide range of original programming to broadcast, cable and internet outlets including such hits as "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire." Rock Shrimp is the producer of Food Network hits "Boy Meets Grill with Bobby Flay" and "Throwdown with Bobby Flay."

"In Search of Real Food" is a programming concept that captures the fast- changes taking place within the food industry -- the emphasis on local-grown and real foods -- as well as the changes within the entertainment industry," noted Bobby Flay. "Finding new ways to reach consumers using interactivity is where the future of programming will be, and this show sets a new standard for consumer engagement."

"The challenge today with branded content is to maintain the authenticity of the production while maximizing the potential for the brand," explained Doug Scott, Executive Director, Branded Content & Entertainment at Ogilvy and Executive Producer of the program with Joe Frydl, also at Ogilvy. "This show offers incredibly rich content, allowing multiple channels for consumer engagement. By teaming with Rock Shrimp Productions and Dave Lieberman as our host, we have a ready-made fan base that is looking for the 'real food' point- of-view that Hellmann's as sponsor is all about."

The theme for the program was inspired by the current advertising campaign for Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise -- "It's Time for Real." Made with such simple ingredients as eggs, oil and vinegar, Hellmann's represents real food, and wants to call attention to the kind of food and experiences it believes are in too short supply in today's over-processed and complicated world. The brand is known as "Best Foods" in the West.

In commenting on the program, Brian Orlando, Senior Brand Manager for Hellmann's said, "We've always been about what's simple and real. Whether it's the quality ingredients in our jar or the real experiences people have with others when they share food made with our Mayonnaise. This effort leverages the technology available to have a conversation about that with consumers, offering recipe ideas and a point-of-view about food that keeps the brand relevant to moms and builds affinity to new and younger users."

Visitors to the "In Search of Real Food" site on Yahoo! will be able to watch the series; upload their own real food videos; find, save and contribute recipes; read and comment on Dave's blog and ask questions about food topics. Yahoo! was selected as the exclusive media partner for "In Search of Real Food" because of the company's past success with partnerships that generate high-quality user-generated content and the integration of its Answers, Groups and Video properties. The program will be featured on Yahoo! Food (http://food.yahoo.com/) that launched in November 2006. Since then it has become a leading food website with more than four million visitors per month.

"In Search of Real Food" further connects the Yahoo! audience to their passion for food," said Amy Iorio, General Manager of Yahoo! Lifestyles. "This experience combines the best of Yahoo!'s community and video offerings with Hellmann's commitment to real food."

Hellmann's will promote the new series via a series of online banners created by Ryan iDirect and promotional marketing activities created by Ogilvy. The media is being placed by MindShare.

Majesco Entertainment Announces 'Blast Works' for the Wii Console

    BRISTOL, England, June 27 /PRNewswire/ --

    - With Photo

    - "Sticky" Shooter With Retro Styling Features Multiple Editors for Maximum Creativity

A frenetic geometric battle is heading to the Wii(TM) home video game system as Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL), an innovative provider of video games and digital entertainment products for the mass market, today announced Blast Works: Build, Fuse & Destroy. Developed by Budcat Creations and scheduled for a Q1 2008 release in Europe, Blast Works is a side-scrolling shooter that lets players craft the game to their liking by building their own levels, ships and enemy ships. In addition, players can "absorb" the pieces and weapons of destroyed enemy ships to bolster their own defenses during battle.

"Gamers can literally build their own shooter experience via Blast Works' easy-to-use, multiple in-game editors," said John Merchant, Marketing Manager, Majesco Europe. "This exceptional customisation combined with the unique "stickiness" of enemy debris and bright geometric graphics delivers a standout game that never plays the same way twice."

Across more than 15 different land, air and sea missions, the goal of Blast Works is to destroy enemy ships while continually growing your own into a massive craft by absorbing their fragments. The larger a "fused ship" is, the easier it is to protect from the growing onslaught of enemy firepower. Players can also upgrade their ship in the Hangar by customising weapons, propulsion systems and armour. Creative types will further enjoy building a ship from scratch with the Ship Editor and then testing it out in combat on a custom level they've built with the Level Editor. To defend the Hangar, players must use the Wii Remote(TM) like an anti-aircraft turret to shoot down enemies attacking from all angles. Finally, the game's 2-player cooperative mode lets players work together to blast enemies, fuse debris to grow their ships and finish the mission as a team.

New Survey Shows Verizon Rates Higher With Customers Than CableVerizon Beats 5 Top Cable Companies on Overall Performance, Quality, Customer Service, Loyalty and Likelihood to Recommend

NEW YORK, June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon's customers like Verizon more than most cable customers like their cable company, a new survey shows.

The survey queried customers of Verizon and competing cable companies on various impressions they have of their provider's phone, Internet and video packages. Verizon beat the top five competitors on overall performance, quality and reliability, and customer service.

The survey results follow recent reports by PC World magazine and the American Customer Satisfaction Index showing that Verizon and the telecom industry lead cable in customer perceptions of service quality.

Customers were asked, based on their experience with their current service provider, how likely they are to recommend their provider to friends and others. In a solid measure of satisfaction, nearly 40 percent of Verizon customers said they were very likely to recommend Verizon bundles to others. Comparable numbers were just over 31 percent for Cox, 28 percent for Time Warner, 25 percent for Cablevision, 24 percent for Charter and 23 percent for Comcast.

A large number of cable customers also reported they are ready for a new TV and Internet provider. A third or more of the customers of Comcast, Cablevision, Cox and Charter, and more than a quarter of Time Warner customers said they were likely to switch providers. Fewer than 18 percent of Verizon customers said they were likely to switch from Verizon.

"This study gives a clear picture of the marketplace," said Fran Picone, executive director of performance assurance for Verizon. "These results show that the work we put into our networks, our product offerings and our service packages is recognized by our customers.

"The results also show that Verizon is truly leading the market. In some regions, Verizon actually beats competitors in every single parameter measured, and Verizon's raw scores were almost universally higher than the competitors'," she said. "It is important for Verizon to continually take the pulse of its customers and those of the competitors to understand what we need to do to be a leader in the marketplace and gain market share."

In the survey, companies were rated on overall performance, reputation, value, billing, customer service, products and services, quality and reliability, and pricing.

Because the survey measures opinions of actual customers of the individual companies rather than general public impressions, the results accurately demonstrate marketplace perceptions of the companies and services. Only statistically significant results are reported here -- those where there is less than a 5 percent chance that the samples are not reflective of the total population and thus are true differences, though Verizon generally had raw scores higher than the competition.

"This research was designed to accurately reflect customer views of the companies measured and to allow comparisons of those views between Verizon and its cable competitors," Picone said.

According to George Wilkerson, president of Flake-Wilkerson Market Insights, the company that managed the survey process, interviews were conducted with a random sample of Verizon customers as well as customers of the head-to-head major competitors in each region. The survey is also blind: Customers did not know for whom the survey was being conducted, eliminating any bias effects and providing results that are highly reliable. The survey reflects customer opinions as of May 2007.

The survey results were reported regionally by Flake-Wilkerson. Among those results:

-- In New Jersey, Verizon beat Comcast on every parameter and beat Cablevision on overall performance, reputation, value and pricing.

-- In New York, Verizon beat Cablevision on reputation, value and pricing and beat Time Warner on value, quality, and reliability and pricing.

-- On the West Coast, Verizon beat Time Warner in all categories and beat Comcast in all but billing and customer service.

Verizon's broad base of customers queried included those with traditional services and packages of voice, Internet and entertainment as well as those with FiOS all-fiber services delivered over fiber optics right to the home.

FiOS Internet was recently named to the top five of PC World Magazine's 100 Best Products of 2007. The only Internet service to make the prestigious list, Verizon FiOS Internet was ranked fourth on the roster of what the magazine called "the finest products and services of the past 12 months" -- "based on exemplary design, features, performance and innovation."

Local phone service provided by Verizon is better than that provided by much of the industry and it continues to get better, according to consumers surveyed in the annual American Customer Satisfaction Index conducted by the University of Michigan.

Verizon was tied with Qwest for the top spot in the fixed landline sector -- improving its score over last year by 4.3 percent, more than any other company in the industry sector. On a scale of 0-100, Verizon earned a 72, up from 69 last year and above the industry average of 70.

In results of its own survey, PC World magazine recently reported FiOS Internet service the best ISP service in the market, and Verizon's high speed Internet service beat Comcast and Charter in the same rankings.

Two Herley Industries, Inc. Manufacturing Facilities Suspended by the U.S. Federal Government

LANCASTER, Pa., June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Herley Industries, Inc. announced today that two of its eight manufacturing facilities have been suspended from receiving new contract awards from the U.S. Government pending completion of a full investigation of certain deliveries by the Company under a program with a U. S. defense contractor. The affected operations include facilities in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Woburn, Massachusetts, and Chicago, Illinois. The Chicago, Illinois location is a two-person marketing office.

The suspension arises out of certain discrepancies in the automated test equipment (ATE) test data for certain equipment manufactured by Herley at its Lancaster facility for a U. S. defense contractor. After notification from the U. S. defense contractor of these discrepancies, Herley conducted an initial investigation which resulted in the recalling and retesting of certain equipment and immediately notified the Department of the Navy that it had reason to believe that certain non-management employees at its Lancaster facility had misrepresented test results on the equipment. At the same time, Herley engaged a third party to conduct an analysis of the test data recorded on the ATE for the equipment provided to the U.S. defense contractor and conducted interviews of its employees working on this program. During the course of these interviews, two technicians stated that they had manually modified certain test results with the approval of a test supervisor.

The order of suspension noted that within the past year Herley had developed and begun implementation of an ethics and compliance program that included the appointment of an Ethics and Compliance Officer, a corporate hotline for the reporting of suspected misconduct, a Corporate Code of Business Ethics and Employee Handbook, government contracting policies and procedures, audit and compliance and review procedures and recurring training for its employees on each of these topics. The employees in question, including their supervisor had participated in this training. Accordingly, the U. S. Government is concerned that the policies and training program in place at Herley Lancaster were not able to prevent and/or identify these acts.

Commenting on this suspension, Myron Levy, the Company's Chairman and CEO stated, "We have been fully cooperating with the U. S. defense contractor and the U. S. Government since this conduct came to our attention, and we will continue to cooperate so that this investigation can be concluded as expeditiously as possible. The investigation conducted by Herley to date has revealed that no one from Herley management was involved. The three non- management employees involved have been suspended pending the outcome of this investigation. Herley intends to take the appropriate remedial measures necessary and to satisfy the U. S. Government that more substantial procedures are now in place to prevent the activity that caused the suspension."

While the suspension remains in place, the named facilities will not be solicited for or awarded new contracts or contract extensions without special exceptions. The suspended facilities may receive contract awards or subcontracts from the Federal Government if the head of the agency states in writing the compelling reason to do so. A significant portion of Herley's business is received where the company is the only qualified supplier on critical defense programs. Currently Herley has a funded backlog of approximately $150 million, which is not affected by this action, and which will be delivered to customers within the next year or two.

Herley facilities which are not included in the action and who are free to contract with the U. S. Government are its facilities in Farmingdale, New York, (Herley Farmingdale), Whippany, NJ (Herley-CTI), Jerusalem (Herley- Israel), McLean, Virginia, (Innovative Concepts, Inc.), Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, (Micro Systems, Inc.), Farnborough, U.K. and the U. K. (EW Simulation Systems).

Herley Industries, Inc. is a leader in the design, development and manufacture of microwave technology solutions for the defense, aerospace and medical industries worldwide. Based in Lancaster, PA, Herley has eight manufacturing locations and approximately 975 employees. Additional information about the company can be found on the Internet at http://www.herley.com/

Sun Donates High Availability Cluster Code to the Open Source Community, Enables Accelerated Innovation in Scale-Out ArchitecturesTwo-year anniversary of Solaris OS release to open source community highlighted by new contributions

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sun Microsystems, Inc., , announced it will release the Solaris(TM) Cluster source code through the HA (High Availability) Clusters community on the OpenSolaris(TM) site. Sun is releasing the Open High Availability Cluster in response to interest and feedback from the OpenSolaris community. For the first time, developers will be able to participate in the evolution of the software itself, as well as leverage the open source cluster technology to develop and support highly available application services.

"Sun is releasing this code to the community to accelerate innovation around clustered solutions, in a world moving quickly to scale-out architectures. When applied to Solaris or other technologies, the Solaris clustering code is a great base to support clustered and HA systems innovation throughout the community," said Rich Green, executive vice president, Software, Sun Microsystems, Inc. "The Open HA Cluster code allows open source developers to use the same Solaris HA infrastructure that powers enterprises' most mission critical applications with their open source and network facing applications and services."

Sun's first contributions are application modules, or agents, which enable open source or commercially available applications to become highly available in a cluster environment.

The Open HA Cluster code will be made available in three phases, beginning at the end of June and continuing over the next 18 months. In the first phase of Open HA Cluster, Sun will deliver code for most of the high availability agents offered with the Solaris Cluster product. Solaris Cluster's high availability agents allow developers to cluster-enable applications to run as either scalable or failover services. Sun is also making available the source code for the Solaris Cluster Automated Test Environment (SCATE) along with agent related documentation, to assist in testing new agents. The test framework and first test suite will be contributed at the end of June 2007. Among these agents are the Solaris(TM) Containers agent, the BEA Weblogic agent, and PostgreSQL.

Agents written using Open HA Cluster will also run on Solaris Cluster version 3.2 on the Solaris 10 OS. Subsequent phases of Open HA Cluster will include delivery of the code for the recently released Solaris(TM) Cluster Geographic Edition - software that enables multi-site disaster recovery by managing the availability of application services and data across geographically dispersed clusters. Later, Sun will release the code for the core Solaris Cluster infrastructure, again with SCATE infrastructure tests and documentation.

To learn more about Open High Availability Cluster and the HA Clusters community on OpenSolaris, and to review a complete list of the high availability agents offered with the Solaris Cluster product, please visit: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/ha-clusters/

QNX Introduces Security Acceleration on Freescale PowerQUICC(R) Processors

ORLANDO, June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Freescale Technology Forum (FTF)-- Building on its secure protocol and partitioning technology, QNX Software Systems today announced support for the Freescale Integrated Security Acceleration Engine. Developers of next-generation network elements can now leverage hardware acceleration when using QNX's comprehensive suite of preintegrated protocol security stacks. Running on the QNX(R) Neutrino(R) RTOS v6.3, this new addition leverages the powerful security engine on many PowerQUICC(R) processors and other host processors from Freescale to deliver highly optimized encryption and authentication.

The need for "self-defending networks" is rising dramatically. As speed and complexity in the network increases, equipment vendors are looking to extend computationally intensive encryption algorithms, such as 3DES and SHA- 1, beyond the data plane to the control and management plane.

To address this demand, QNX has introduced an integrated hardware-software solution that takes advantage of the outstanding security features on PowerQUICC processors. At the Freescale Technology Forum this week, QNX is showcasing the performance benefits achievable by offloading encryption algorithms, including DES, 3DES and AES, to hardware.

"The threats facing today's network drive the need for pervasive security," said Romain Saha, netcom segment manager at QNX. "By offering one of the most comprehensive selections of preintegrated protocols in the embedded industry, along with support for the embedded security capabilities on PowerQUICC processors and other host processors from Freescale, QNX provides networking vendors a compelling and highly flexible platform for building high-performance encryption and authentication into networking elements."

More about the QNX Neutrino RTOS

Designed for high availability networking elements, the QNX Neutrino RTOS is built on a memory-protected microkernel architecture, providing dynamic upgrades, fine-grained fault isolation, and rapid error recovery. With native support for multi-core processors, QNX Neutrino offers massive scalability, allowing networking elements to handle increases in network traffic or services without the need for forklift upgrades.

To enhance system security, system designers can leverage QNX Secure Partitioning. This technology gives designers the flexibility to either lock down a set of applications in fixed partitions or to optimize CPU utilization through adaptive partitions. In fact, a multi-core design can employ the two techniques simultaneously, depending on the prioritization of each function. QNX partitioning technology guarantees CPU time for applications when the system is heavily loaded. It can also dynamically reassign unused resources from partitions not under full load to those that need additional processing time, providing a higher level of performance by increasing CPU utilization. This approach is far more efficient than traditional partitioning solutions, which waste memory and CPU cycles through their rigid and fixed resource allocations.

    Demo at FTF

To catch the QNX demo in action at FTF, visit the QNX pedestals, numbers 1820 and 1821. FTF takes place June 25 to 28 in Orlando, Florida.

Bandit Project's Cross-Platform Card Selector Gives Users Control of Their Internet IdentitiesInformation card selector runs on Linux and Macintosh platforms

SAN FRANCISCO, June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Catalyst Conference -- The Bandit(R) Project today hit another key milestone in the development of open source identity services with the availability of an open source, cross-platform information card selector that helps users manage "digital identity cards" used in Web transactions. Based on working code from the Bandit Project and interoperable with components from the Eclipse Higgins Project, the DigitalMe(R) information card selector is functionally equivalent to Microsoft* Windows CardSpace* and runs on Linux* and Macintosh* platforms. The DigitalMe information card selector is being demonstrated today at the Burton Group's Catalyst Conference, with a test version now available as an installable package with a graphical interface. This marks an important step forward for user-centric, cross-platform identity management for Web-based services.

"A multitude of user-centric components have rushed onto the scene in recent months, providing a telling harbinger for next-generation identity management technologies," said Gerry Gebel, vice president and service director at Burton Group. "To ensure greater adoption, user-centric components must be interoperable and available on a wide range of platforms. The Bandit Project has been very supportive of these efforts through its participation in the Burton Group user-centric interoperability demonstration project."

The Bandit Project's implementation of DigitalMe demonstrates a successful identity-enabled application that makes it easier for users to manage their identities. Industry trends highlight increased market demand for user-centric identity management technology, such as Windows CardSpace. By making this type of technology available to Linux and Macintosh users, DigitalMe is helping accelerate the adoption of this user-centric approach. Additionally, customization capabilities and related identity management components available from the Higgins Project will encourage service providers to utilize the technology, as it gives them the ability to provide complete identity management solutions for their users.

"One of the key elements to developing an Identity Metasystem is providing tools that can help users easily access Web sites or online services to be in control of their digital identity," said Kim Cameron, chief identity architect at Microsoft Corp. "By extending the ability to use Information Cards that are compatible with Windows CardSpace to different operating systems and platforms, the Bandit project is helping to broaden this effort with DigitalMe."

Sponsored by Novell, the Bandit Project works with community partners to develop an open identity framework that simplifies the creation of identity-enabled applications. Built on open source, Bandit provides a transparent and consistent approach to managing digital identity information, regardless of the underlying platform. Code for DigitalMe has been donated to the Eclipse Higgins Project, an open source group focused on developing a multi-platform identity framework to give users convenience, privacy and control over their identity information. The donation of the DigitalMe source code to the Higgins Project will increase the number of opportunities for users to access this technology.

"The Bandit Project continues to be one of the leading innovators and contributors in user-centric identity," said Paul Trevithick, technical lead of the Higgins Project. "We appreciate Bandit's donation of the DigitalMe code to Higgins. Written in C++, it will give users the option of deploying a native code version of the Higgins identity agent on a local machine."

DigitalMe allows for a user-centric identity model, where users, not Web sites, control how sensitive identity information is presented. This offers greater security, since users provide only the digital card with the specific information necessary to complete a transaction, and storage of sensitive information is limited to authorizing sites. DigitalMe works by allowing users to manage multiple digital identity cards to control identity data, including name, postal address, e-mail address and credit card information. The cards are either obtained from third-party companies or created by the user. When the user visits an information card-compatible Web site and performs a transaction, such as purchasing an item, a list of digital cards is presented. The user selects the relevant card and credentials are sent to an authorizing third-party site, for example the credit card company, which verifies that the user has the necessary funds to perform the purchase. Authorization is securely sent back to the original site through the user's system, and the transaction is completed.

"The Internet explosion occurred without an effective framework for managing identity information," said Dale Olds, distinguished engineer and Bandit Project leader at Novell. "This lack of framework has created frustration for users who have to manually provide identifying data at multiple Web sites. Software, such as DigitalMe, will revolutionize the way people control their identity data."

To test drive an early version of DigitalMe, an openSUSE(R) 10.2 installable package with a graphical interface can be downloaded at http://www.bandit-project.org/index.php/Identity_Selector_Service_Download. The source code for other Linux versions and Macintosh is available at http://www.eclipse.org/higgins/downloads.php.

A Community-driven Approach to Identity Management The Bandit project builds on the participation of the broader identity and open source communities, and many industry leaders are expressing their support for DigitalMe.

Ed Macbeth, senior vice president of Business Development for ActivIdentity Inc., said, "The deployment of digital identity assurance and strong authentication solutions for both government and enterprise would greatly benefit from seamless interoperability and tight integration with identity management systems. ActivIdentity supports Novell's leadership with the Bandit project as we believe the resulting open industry standards will expand the market and deliver greater value to customers."

Brett McDowell, executive director, Liberty Alliance, said, "Liberty Alliance salutes open identity initiatives that contribute to the development of a ubiquitous, interoperable and privacy-respecting Internet identity layer. DigitalMe builds on the CardSpace-to-Liberty interoperability the Bandit team demonstrated at RSA 2007, fostering a common user experience regardless of underlying protocol."

Anthony Nadalin, distinguished engineer and chief security architect for IBM Software Group, said, "We are very pleased to see that the Bandit project is contributing an Identity Selector to the current set of Identity Selectors in the Higgins project. This addition gives Higgins the broadest platform and usage coverage that our customers have been requesting. We look forward to working on the integration of the Bandit Identity Selector in Higgins."

Phil Windley, co-founder of the Internet Identity Workshops, said, "For the vision of user-centric identity to thrive, ecosystems like information card selectors have to extend beyond a single operating system. As a vendor of a major Linux distribution, Novell is in a great position to lead the use of information card selectors on Linux. I'm very encouraged by these developments."

Andre Durand, CEO of Ping Identity Corporation, said, "In order for card-based identity systems to succeed, it's important that all platforms be supported. Bandit is filling in a critical piece of the puzzle by enabling both Linux and Mac desktops for information card interoperability."

Dick Hardt, founder and CEO at Sxip Identity, said, "User-centric, Identity 2.0 technologies are now able to solve real enterprise concerns such as a more secure authentication mechanism for online applications. It's great to see the development of interoperable, open source technologies, such as the Bandit Project's information card selector, which along with other identity agents such as Microsoft's Windows CardSpace provide cross-platform choice for users. We're adding support for these emerging digital identity cards to Sxip Access for phishing-resistant login to Google Apps and Salesforce."

Novell Helps Protect Corporate Assets From Attack by Expanding Security Management at the EndpointNovell ZENworks Endpoint Security Management secures endpoints and corporate data while keeping users productive

SAN FRANCISCO, June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- (Catalyst Conference) -- Novell today announced a new solution to help organizations enforce security policies at the most vulnerable location on the network, the endpoint. Novell(R) ZENworks(R) Endpoint Security Management complements the existing Novell ZENworks product line by extending policy-based management to device security. The new solution enforces security policies to control device ports, wireless connections and applications, as well as to guarantee data encryption. With ZENworks Endpoint Security Management, customers can mitigate security threats and ensure compliance with regulations and enterprise policies.

"Many vendors continue to cobble together disparate technologies in an attempt to provide manageable endpoint security for heterogeneous IT environments, including mobile and wireless clients," said Charles Kolodgy, research director at IDC. "Novell is instead entering the market with an innovative architecture that enables comprehensive and automated security policy management and enforcement on all clients."

The ubiquity of mobile computing and removable storage devices has increased the potential for security breaches from insecure devices (such as USB, Bluetooth* and MP3), wireless access, unencrypted data, and malicious software. With ZENworks Endpoint Security Management, companies can now establish and enforce security policies down to the endpoints, protecting corporate resources without inhibiting their users' productivity.

The new solution goes beyond anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-malware software. ZENworks Endpoint Security Management automates the enforcement of corporate security policies, giving organizations control over their data and endpoint access while still allowing the safe use of removable drives and ensuring wireless security. It is the only product on the market with Location-Aware Enforcement, an intelligent feature that prevents unauthorized access by automatically adjusting security controls and protections based on the user's location. It also includes a personal firewall, which controls the network traffic to and from a user's computer based on security policies.

Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Polycom for its Outstanding Product Line Strategy in the North American Enterprise IP Telephony End-point Market

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the North American enterprise IP telephony end-point market, Frost & Sullivan has recognized Polycom, Inc. with the 2007 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Line Strategy.

Polycom receives this Award in recognition of the company's ability to grow and strengthen its portfolio in the enterprise IP telephony end-point market through in-house product development, partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions.

The company is the leading session initiation protocol (SIP)-based enterprise deskphone vendor in the market. Its portfolio features multiple devices that range from high quality entry level phones to advanced, state-of- the-art devices with larger displays. Its IP desktop phones are deployed in premise-based environments as well as hosted ones.

Polycom has identified the growing opportunity for hosted telephony solutions and has focused on developing partnerships with the major softswitch and application server vendors to deploy its phones in hosted environments. "Polycom's IP end points have been tested for interoperability with the leading softswitch and application server vendors that offer IP Centrex/hosted IP PBX solutions," notes Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Laura Devoto. "These vendors are interested in offering their customers sophisticated end points to deploy with their hosted services and not have to develop those themselves."

Further, Polycom markets products that are highly interoperable with platforms from smaller PBX developers that are not interested in entering the end-point market, as they want to devote their resources to developing their call servers.

Polycom's strong relationships with small PBX vendors and softswitch manufacturers have secured it a strong presence in the small and medium business (SMB) space.

Small businesses can typically gain substantial benefits from IP telephony, but have very limited budgets and therefore, usually choose affordable feature-rich solutions from smaller PBX manufacturers or IP Centrex service providers.

As the small business space takes the center stage in the IP telephony market with vendors and service providers looking to satisfy unmet needs in this untapped market, Polycom will be well positioned to gain considerable benefits as the vendor of choice.

"In addition to strategically partnering and testing interoperability with multiple IP telephony equipment manufacturers, Polycom has recently acquired SpectraLink -- the leader in the VoWLAN device market," says Devoto. "Frost & Sullivan considers this merger to be of strategic importance to Polycom as it seeks to strengthen its position in the IP end-point market."

Going forward, as certain vertical markets look to provide mobility solutions to their employees frequently leveraging investment in an IP telephony solution, Polycom can become a one-stop shop for desktop, conference room and WLAN end-point devices.

Each year Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to a company that has demonstrated the most insight into customer needs and product demands. The recipient company should have optimized its product line by leveraging products with the various price, performance, and feature points required by the market.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.

Oracle Broadens Access and Simplifies Buying Process With 'ORACLE 1-CLICK ORDERING' For SMB Technology ProductsReduces Average Order Booking Cycle, Increases Profitability for Smaller Transactions and Streamlines SMB Packaging

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- To address the growing demand for Oracle technology products by small and medium businesses, Oracle today unveiled a streamlined "ORACLE 1-CLICK ORDERING" process, that will assist partners and customers to more easily resell and purchase Oracle small and medium business (SMB) software. With this announcement, Oracle is broadening access to its SMB Technology products to thousands of new resellers and customers.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20020718/ORCLLOGO)

To support this effort, a new SMB Technology Program Office has been established to drive new programs with the goal to increase access of Oracle SMB Technology products for customers and partners and lower transactions costs. With a customer base of more than 180,000 small and medium businesses, Oracle is responding to requests from its channel partners to offer streamlined programs for distributors that help serve small and medium businesses.

Streamlined Order Fulfillment Process & SMB Packaging

With this announcement, Oracle is unveiling a new streamlined process -- ORACLE 1-CLICK ORDERING -- that significantly reduces the time required to book and fulfill an order for Oracle SMB Technology products -- currently defined as Oracle(R) Database 10g Standard Edition and Standard Edition One; Oracle Application Server Java Edition, Standard Edition and Standard Edition One; and Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition and Standard Edition One. By identifying that an order is for SMB Technology products, a new process is initiated that triggers an order entry number and URL to be sent back to the purchaser, who then can choose an online or a physical order fulfillment.

If electronic fulfillment is elected, the purchaser can download the software, type in an order entry number and receive the product after clicking through simplified terms and conditions. If physical fulfillment is chosen, the purchaser will receive an Oracle SMB Media kit comprising a DVD that includes Oracle Database 10g or Oracle Application Server with binaries for the Windows operating system and one for the Linux operating system, enabling customer choice. Also in the box will be Oracle's Terms & Conditions, which will be agreed to with the opening of the package.

"We are reaching out to the 'S' portion of SMBs with programs and processes that match their needs. To that end, we have significantly streamlined our order and fulfillment processes and are removing barriers to entry for our partners and customers," said Judson Althoff, vice president of Global Platform & Distribution Sales and Head of the Oracle Technology SMB Program Office. "With these new enhancements, we're broadening access to a new base of SMB resellers and customers that buy and resell our SMB technology products. We're making Oracle as easy a choice for resellers as Microsoft on the low end, and provide more flexibility on the high end, resulting in better solutions for our customers and more opportunities for our partners."

"These types of programs put Oracle in a customer segment where it didn't have a presence before," said Michael Fauscette, vice president, Software Applications Research at IDC. "This new program demonstrates a level of commitment to SMBs for its technology products and shows that Oracle is serious about growing its business with SMB customers. One of the keys to increasing Oracle's sales to SMB customers is optimizing how vendors get their products to SMBs -- with this new approach Oracle shows that it's serious about selling to SMB customers and that it understands what SMB resellers and customers need."

    Partners Around the Globe Agree

This new order fulfillment process not only shortens the fulfillment cycle time from a few weeks to less than a day, but increases profitability for partners by eliminating the administrative back-and-forth formerly needed to sign extended contracts and shepherd the fulfillment process itself.

"Arrow ECS' partners will benefit greatly from an enhanced ordering process that simplifies terms and conditions for small dollar deals," said Matt Reaves, vice president of North American enterprise software for Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions' global software business unit.

"Unlike other Enterprise companies targeting these customers, Oracle has tailored its strategy and product set to address the specific needs of SMB customers. In doing so, they have removed many of the obstacles that typically prevent small companies from partnering with larger organizations. This unprecedented and refreshing flexibility will open Oracle up to mass market opportunities that their Enterprise rivals will still be dreaming of for years to come," said Jared Cary, vendor relations director, Northamber UK, Ltd.

Brunet Saunier Receives Revit BIM Experience Award for Sustainable, Large-Scale Hospital DesignsFirm is honored for use of Revit Architecture in the design coordination and development of green hospitals

PARIS, France, June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Autodesk, Inc. today announced that Brunet Saunier Architecture has received a Revit BIM Experience Award for their use of Revit Architecture software on several, large-scale hospital projects. One of France's most prestigious architectural studios, Brunet Saunier uses Revit Architecture for informed decision-making -- including early validation of financial viability -- and improved design coordination, as well as to incorporate elements of sustainable design. The Revit BIM Experience Award honors firms for their innovation and excellence in implementing the Revit platform for building information modeling (BIM) to create quality, complex designs and collaborate across the building design disciplines.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20050415/SFF034LOGO )

"We commend Brunet Saunier's use of Revit Architecture to create hospital designs that are environmentally responsible," said Jay Bhatt, senior vice president, Autodesk AEC Solutions. "Autodesk is committed to furthering the practice of sustainable design, and recognizing innovative, environmentally responsible firms such as Brunet Saunier that use building information modeling to create greener buildings."

Founded in 1981, Brunet Saunier Architecture specializes in large healthcare projects and cultural and academic facilities. The firm was recently selected for a design commission at 10 major hospitals in France and Switzerland, including five 70,000-square-meter projects in Toulon, Lagny, Geneva, Belfort and Nantes. An Autodesk customer for more than 10 years, Brunet Saunier adopted Revit Architecture in 2005 and was one of the first architectural firms in France to implement BIM. The firm has used Revit Architecture to support its pioneering "Monospace" approach to hospital design, which maximizes flexibility in use and location of spaces throughout the design process.

Currently, Brunet Saunier is utilizing Revit Architecture on the Belfort Montbeliard Hospital in Belfort, France. The 65,000 square meter, 612-bed hospital project has 10 operating rooms, 10 radiology rooms and four obstetric suites. As the design for the various hospital departments evolved, Revit Architecture provided Brunet Saunier with the flexibility to easily make changes to the designs at all stages through to the delivery of the finalized designs. With the single building information model created in Revit Architecture, the design team has been able to easily collaborate while working separately in individual worksets created for each individual hospital function: one workset for the building structure, another for the core, and two others for the exterior facades and internal courtyards. Revit Architecture has allowed Brunet Saunier to maintain a comprehensive, coherent understanding of the project as a whole, while also controlling each individual departmental area.

"Moving to BIM has given our architects a comprehensive and cohesive understanding of each project and has helped provide the creativity and innovation needed to produce sustainable designs," said Jacques Levy- Bencheton, Brunet Saunier Architecture. "Revit Architecture is providing us with the organization and collaboration tools needed to create designs more efficiently, which has given us an excellent competitive advantage over other firms."

About the Revit BIM Experience Award

The Revit BIM Experience Award celebrates building industry professionals and educators around the world who are helping to drive transformation of the building industry through building information modeling. Autodesk honors firm with this award for innovation and excellence in implementing the Autodesk Revit platform for building information modeling including Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP on one or more projects.

Oracle Releases Oracle(R) Contact Center Anywhere 8.1

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Following last year's acquisition of Telephony@Work, Oracle today announced the release of Oracle(R) Contact Center Anywhere 8.1, Oracle's first comprehensive multimedia IP contact center solution. Oracle Contact Center Anywhere 8.1 is a highly scalable, multi-channel solution that provides agents with a 360-degree customer view across a wide array of communication channels including calls, e-mail, voicemail, fax, Web and interactive voice response (IVR), enabling organizations to communicate more seamlessly and effectively with their customers.

Traditionally, CRM applications and telephony components have been stand- alone applications from different vendors requiring extensive computer- telephony integrations (CTI) between voice and data platforms. As a result, delivering a true multi-channel contact center eludes many companies simply due to the high cost and lengthy integrations required. Oracle provides a complete "customer-to-agent" experience using Contact Center Anywhere's multi- channel technology. By aligning contact center technologies more closely with CRM and business intelligence, Oracle is helping to reduce the cost and complexity of integrating disparate contact center and CRM data, analytics and communications technologies.

As the first major product release since the Telephony@Work acquisition, Oracle Contact Center Anywhere 8.1 is built to run on the Oracle technology stack including Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Fusion Middleware. This release introduces a new integrated client design that provides a clean, universal approach to contact center interaction and management. The entire customer lifecycle -- starting with a customer initiating communication (phone call, e-mail, Web callback, IVR self-service) to the logging of the activity in the CRM system -- will be delivered through Oracle's CRM and business intelligence applications. Contact Center Anywhere 8.1 currently supports out-of-the-box integration for voice calls with Siebel CRM and the client facilitates easy implementation of screen pop and data presentation desktop integration.

Oracle Contact Center Anywhere 8.1 offers enhanced reliability, scalability and manageability across the platform. Key new 8.1 features provide higher agent productivity, smarter management tools and more operational flexibility to contact center outsourcing organizations.

-- Higher Agent Productivity . Oracle Contact Center Anywhere 8.1 empowers users with a new Interaction Manager graphical interface that reduces screen clutter and guides agent action by displaying information and controls that are relevant to the agent's current context, for example, type of channel or customer. This feature also makes it easier to handle multiple contacts and channels simultaneously. -- Smart Staff Management Tools . The Supervision Manager interface helps supervisors maximize staff productivity with enhanced tools for real- time monitoring, whisper coaching and traffic monitoring. The Supervision interface provides greater flexibility with semi- customizable displays so supervisors can create special client views of agent activity, workgroup effectiveness, alarms and service levels. -- Increased Operational Flexibility . New advanced controls enable outsourcing providers with multiple clients to better manage simultaneous campaigns with the capability to securely partition the data and processes of each customer. Supervisors have the tools to manage varying service levels across multiple clients while ensuring that agent communication is appropriate for the specific customer they are servicing. This is especially helpful for outsourcers and service providers that enable agents to answer the phone on behalf of customers whose data stores, views and activities must be kept confidential.

"Our new innovations in Oracle Contact Center Anywhere 8.1 drive higher agent productivity, enhanced service levels and more satisfied customers;" said Oracle Vice President of CRM Strategy Mike Betzer. "Agents can work efficiently from anywhere in the world with 360-degree views into customer interactions and business intelligence delivering a complete 'customer-to- agent' experience. This release opens the door for more enterprises to take advantage of Oracle Contact Center Anywhere along with complementary products from Oracle's broad portfolio of CRM offerings. Oracle Accelerates Reseller Program for SMBsNew VAD Remarketer Program Establishes Zero Barrier to Entry Class of Oracle Reseller For SMB Technology Products

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- To provide further access of Oracle products to small and medium businesses and organizations, Oracle today announced the Oracle VAD Remarketer Program for SMB Technology Products. This global program allows authorized Oracle Value Added Distributors (VADs) to resell Oracle small and medium business (SMB) Technology products through new resellers without requiring to them to join the Oracle(R) PartnerNetwork (OPN) or pay the typical requirement of upfront fees and sign contracts with Oracle.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20020718/ORCLLOGO )

Resellers can now transact Oracle business as a Remarketer through any authorized Oracle VAD and leverage that VAD for support, training and other reseller services. "With this new VAD Remarketer Program and our streamlined ordering process, we're taking out the upfront costs of working with Oracle to resell Oracle SMB Technology products," said Judson Althoff, vice president of Global Platform & Distribution Sales and Head of the Oracle Technology SMB Program Office. "Remarketers now can simply order Oracle SMB Technology products through their VADs and deliver Oracle solutions to their smaller accounts with zero barrier to entry, increasing profitability on these deals."

"With the new Remarketer Program, Oracle continues to demonstrate its commitment to the channel and reseller partners. They are making it easier and more profitable for resellers to bring these solutions to SMB customers," said Bob O'Malley, senior vice president, Marketing, Tech Data Corporation. "We expect our customers will positively respond to the new licensing program and open distribution model, which will, in turn, strengthen Oracle's penetration of SMBs."

"In the past, only my larger, enterprise resellers were able to invest in building an Oracle practice," said Jodi Honore, vice president, vendor management, software, Ingram Micro Inc. "Now, with the Remarketer program, the start-up costs with Oracle have been eliminated, so all of my resellers are able to participate in growing a profitable Oracle business."

Remarketers may find, over time, that they would like to upgrade and join the Oracle PartnerNetwork to receive OPN benefits such as direct Oracle support assistance, discounts on training and free software downloads. The 500 companies are the leading revenue producers among solution provider organizations in North America. The list's ranking is based on companies' gross worldwide revenue of hardware and software sales, as well as earnings from professional and managed IT services.

"The companies on the VARBusiness 500 list play critical roles in providing the proper IT strategies and systems to corporations and institutions to help drive business forward. We congratulate them on their success," said the CMP Channel's Editorial Director, Robert C. DeMarzo.
