New Look, Increased Functionality Featured on Newly Launched Sikorsky Aircraft Web Site

HOUSTON, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. today announced that it has completed the transformation of its Internet Web site, http://www.sikorsky.com/, during an unveiling at the Heli-Expo. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

The site uses rich media in a number of areas to elevate the visitor's experience, using a combination of video and Flash(TM) animation to bring Sikorsky's aircraft to life. The site also features an interactive aircraft tour that invites users to get close to the features that make Sikorsky a world leader in helicopter design, manufacture and service.

"The Sikorsky Web site is increasingly the company's 'front door' to a global audience and the first experience many people have with the Sikorsky brand," said company Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Stephen B. Estill. "The site is truly a business tool designed to meet the increasing demands of the global marketplace, giving users a consolidated view of Sikorsky's services and products."

John Pacelli, Vice President, Marketing & Proposal Operations, said the new site was designed to give users a sense that they are literally inside the Sikorsky environment.

"The homepage feels as if you are looking into a vast hangar with numerous aircraft at your disposal," Pacelli said. "We wanted the site to make a positive and memorable impression. A lot of people come to our site -- from military personnel and commercial airline pilots to prospective employees. We want people to get a sense of the 'Wow!' that we feel in building some of the world's finest aircraft."

Navigation on the new site is dramatically improved to give visitors easier access to the most valuable company information. The homepage provides a dramatic presentation of aircraft, offering a near-tactile experience, and giving a true sense of dimension that creates the feeling of standing next to the aircraft. On the homepage, a Sikorsky test pilot greets visitors, lending to the site's authenticity and elevating the personality of the Sikorsky brand.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., based in Stratford, Conn., is a world leader in helicopter design, manufacture, and service. The company's long commitment to safety and innovation is reflected in its mission statement: "We pioneer flight solutions that bring people home everywhere...every time(TM)." United Technologies Corp., based in Hartford, Conn., provides a broad range of high- technology products and support services to the aerospace and building systems industries.
