HOPKINTON, Mass., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- EMC Corporation, the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced new software capabilities that double the amount of digital objects its EMC(R) Centera(R) content addressed storage (CAS) system can archive, while making it easier to manage and secure the fastest growing areas of what IDC calls the Digital Universe, unchanging electronic content such as medical images, e-mail records, financial documents, video and audio recordings and others.
According to an IDC white paper, sponsored by EMC and released this week - The Diverse and Exploding Digital Universe: An Updated Forecast of Worldwide Information Growth through 2011 - the amount of digital information being created is growing at close to 60 percent annually. The report highlights that the diversity of the digital universe can be seen in the variability of file sizes. Because of the growth of VoIP (voice over internet protocol), sensors, and RFID (radio frequency identification) tags, the number of electronic information "containers" - relatively small files, images, packets, tag contents - is growing 50 percent faster than the number of gigabytes. The rapid growth in the number of smaller files, most of which are static or unchanging, represents a significant management challenge.
To help businesses and organizations keep up with this growth and securely archive and manage this important information, the newest version of Centera operating software - CentraStar(R) 4.0 - doubles the amount of objects that each individual disk drive in a system can hold, with each 500 gigabyte or 750 gigabyte drive now able to hold up to 25 million objects. This is particularly helpful in managing a very large quantity of small objects. In addition, the new version of the software, which is available as a free upgrade, improves the self-management and healing capabilities of Centera systems up to 25 percent faster than previous versions.

Lockheed Martin to Develop Control Software for Mobile, Robotic Communications Routers
CHERRY HILL, N.J., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) awarded Lockheed Martin a $1.2-million contract to develop control software for semi-autonomous, mobile, robotic communications routers called LANdroids. The total value of the effort could be up to $3.5 million, if all phases of the development program are completed.
As Warfighters move through urban areas, each must maintain radio contact with the other but barriers such as buildings and walls weaken or break the communications networks. LANdroids provide a solution. Once Warfighters launch them, LANdroids will sense the strength and patterns of radio signals and, like small spiders, automatically position themselves to fortify signal weaknesses or bridge outages.
"LANdroids will significantly improve Warfighter safety and mission success," said Peter Drewes, Lockheed Martin's LANdroids project manager. "This program provides an opportunity for us to assist our Warfighters through advanced, cooperative, manned and unmanned communications-based teaming."
Lockheed Martin's Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL) will develop the LANdroid control software by leveraging successes on its ongoing research on cooperative robotic coordination and from LANdroids-related exploratory research. The software will use radio-frequency sensor data and inputs from other physical sensors to determine and maintain situational awareness. It will also use position data from other LANdroids and warfighters to coordinate their movements and maintain an optimum communications network.
Development will proceed through two increasingly challenging phases. Phase I will provide basic situational awareness and coordination capabilities, resulting in the ability of a small team of robots to work together. During Phase II, LANdroids will navigate more complex environments, coordinate their movements with larger teams of robots, and control their power consumption to achieve optimum operational life while responding to the communications network.
Previously, ATL demonstrated the ability to sense radio signals and physical characteristics of its surroundings, without prior programming of its position.
ATL leads a team that includes the University of Southern California and Rutgers University.

Eagle Ventures International Projects 2008 Growth
EAGLE, Idaho, March 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- (Pink Sheets: EGVI.PK) Eagle Ventures International, Inc. ("the Company") is a holding company parent to various subsidiaries, including TelExtreme International, Inc. During its first full year of operations in 2005, TelExtreme generated approximately $3.4 million in sales. By the end of the year 2006, revenues grew dramatically to approximately $30 million, which generated approximately $2.7 million in EBITDA.
In order to continue this monumental rate of rapid sales growth, in the third and fourth quarters of 2007 the Company focused on migrating services from third party vendors to reduce their operating costs by nearly 60% on a forward-going basis. While these strategic actions are believed to have long-term benefits, the Company currently plans to take a 4th quarter write down that will adversely impact revenue figures for last year's operating performance. Specifically, the Company had previously projected its 2007 sales to be in the $40 million range, however at this time the Company projects 2007 revenues will come in approximately equal to the year 2006, at about $30 million.
The Company expects that its audited financials for the year 2007 will be completed by the end of April 2008. Wabtec Receives Orders Worth $100 Million to Supply Components for NY Subway Cars
WILMERDING, Pa., March 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wabtec Corporation today announced that it has received orders worth about $100 million to supply components for New York City subway cars being purchased under the city's R-160 program. The contracts represent components for the first option order of 620 cars, which are to be delivered over the next two years.
Under the R-160 program, New York City has now ordered 1,280 cars and has an option to order an additional 420. The cars are being built by ALSTOM Transportation and Kawasaki. Wabtec has been supplying components for the base order of 660 cars and will now provide the same components for the 620 option cars, as follows: Wabtec Passenger Transit (brakes, couplers and current collectors), Vapor Stone (door operators and related equipment), Milufab (door panels) and Wabtec Railway Electronics (event recorders).

For years, WP Coffee had used Microsoft Dynamics -- Great Plains
accounting software, but as a growing, nimble company, WP Coffee needed a
powerful yet flexible, Web-based ERP / CRM system that could be tailored to
its unique needs and scale with its growth. Specifically, it required a

frees up valuable office space, as well as provides a record of voice mail
contacts with customers. The File Cabinet is integrated with WP Coffee's
internal VoIP phone system, so all voice mails are automatically saved under
the customer's master record. This makes it a simple matter for the company
to resolve disputes, as customers can listen to playbacks of their own order
messages.
The NetSuite Business Operating System (NS-BOS) also allows WP Coffee to
make its own modifications and improvements to the system. The company is now
free to develop numerous, in-depth customer and operational reports, which
helps WP Coffee staff perform profit-boosting analyses of the company's

SATIMO Agrees to Purchase Controlling Shares of ORBIT/FR
HORSHAM, Pa., March 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ORBIT/FR, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: ORFR) , a leading producer of sophisticated, automated microwave test and measurement systems for the aerospace, defense, wireless communication, automotive and satellite industries, announced today that Orbit-Alchut Technologies, Ltd. (public on TASE) the controlling shareholder of ORBIT/FR, Inc. and SATIMO (listed on ALTERNEXT: ALSAT) have entered into a definitive Stock Purchase Agreement.
Pursuant to the Stock Purchase Agreement, SATIMO will pay Orbit-Alchut Technologies, Ltd. approximately $17.2 million for its 3,700,000 shares of ORBIT/FR stock (61.6% of issued and outstanding shares) making SATIMO the majority stockholder of ORBIT/FR. This transaction is subject to customary conditions (including regulatory approval).
