Turbodyne Technologies' Fleet Services Unit Receives Order for TurboPacs(TM)

VENTURA, Calif., June 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Turbodyne Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TRBD; TUD-Frankfurt) announced today that it has received an order from American Transportation System of Los Angeles, Ca. for the installation and testing of its patented TurboPac(TM). Turbodyne will perform a pilot phase to prove diesel fuel savings and emissions reduction. American Transportation System will purchase a series of TurboPacs(TM) that will lead to a retrofit of a select number of vehicles in their fleet of coach transportation and school buses after the initial pilot phase. "We are excited to add ATS to our new Fleet Services Unit," said John Adams, Turbodyne's CEO. The pilot phase will begin in July and will last approximately 30 to 45 days.

The TurboPac(TM) provides an electrically powered and digitally controlled supply of boost air on demand that increases the efficiency of diesel fuel burn during the initial low RPM spectrum where a significant amount of fuel is used in high traffic, stop and go operating conditions. Dennis Justice of ATS added, "This is especially valuable for us because we operate in highly congested conditions and that's where we use a significant amount of fuel."

The Fleet Services Unit will certify the ATS staff during the installation and testing phase of Turbodyne's patented TurboPac(TM).

    About Turbodyne Technologies, Inc.

Turbodyne Technologies, Inc. (TRBD.OB) is a developer of patented electrically powered air movement and propulsion components that are engineered to promote lower fuel consumption and address higher emission standards for hybrid, gas and diesel internal combustion engines.

The patented TurboPac(TM) design reduces diesel pollution, eliminates turbo-lag in gas and diesel engines and increases fuel economy through both engine downsizing for hybrid, gas and diesel applications as well as low-RPM fuel burn optimization for diesel trucks and buses.

The TurboFlow(TM) design provides computer-controlled, variable pressure, high volume air movement in a small, lightweight, low power package for forced air induction for internal combustion engines.

    About American Transportation System

NETGEAR(R) Smart Switch Earns Miercom 'Certified Green'High-Performance SMB Networking Switches Among Most Energy-Efficient According to In-Stat Research Report

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NETGEAR, Inc. today announced its ProSafe(TM) 48-port Gigabit Smart Switch (GS748T) for small to medium-sized business networking was awarded "Certified Green" status by Miercom, a consultancy specializing in networking and communications-related product testing and analysis. NETGEAR's innovative and energy-efficient 24- and 48-port switches also earned the company a top-three ranking among numerous competitors in independent research firm In-Stat's recent study, "Green Networking Equipment: Who Leads and Who Lags."

Said Vivek Pathela, NETGEAR's vice president of product marketing, "We're very proud that recent tests by Miercom and analysis by In-Stat have recognized our 24- and 48-port Gigabit Smart Switches for their distinctive energy efficiencies. Products from several vendors were put under the looking glass, and to be acknowledged as a leader in this area says volumes about our parallel dedication to achieve industry-leading switch performance and value, as well as environmental responsibility. We design our SMB networking products with intelligent power-saving capabilities at the top of our priority list, and we are committed to continue leading in this important arena."

Recent testing by Miercom evaluated over a dozen switches for power consumption. NETGEAR's ProSafe 48-port Gigabit Smart Switch was one of the few switches that consumed 90 watts or less at full utilization of all ports. According to Miercom calculations, this lower consumption produces a reduction in heat dissipation, which in turn helps reduce data center cooling loads and associated energy costs. More information on Miercom's certification process can be found at http://www.miercom.com/.

"We were pleased to find that the NETGEAR GS748T used even less energy than its specifications stated," said Miercom CEO Robert Smithers. "During our lab test of the device, we observed it drew only 75 watts at maximum capacity when the vendor rated the product at 90 watts. The low power use was one of the reasons we awarded the GS748T our new Green Certification. Its Web-based remote management alerting capability and virtualization features also contributed to its overall efficiency rating."

Additionally, NETGEAR earned a top-three ranking among thirteen competing networking vendors in a study published by In-Stat titled, "Green Networking Equipment: Who Leads and Who Lags" (#IN0804265LS), which addressed the energy efficiencies of Gigabit Ethernet, fixed and managed Layer 2 and 3 switches. While In-Stat concluded that fixed-configuration 24- and 48-port switches vary by more than 600% in terms of switching capacity and respective electrical power usage -- as noted by Network World Magazine -- NETGEAR's ProSafe 48-port Gigabit Smart Switch (GS748T) and 24-port Gigabit Smart Switch (GS724T) were among the select few products lauded for both high performance and power efficiency. More information on the report can be found at http://www.instat.com/.

"We were happy to see NETGEAR fare so well in our recent energy efficiency comparison, as the company is an important player in the LAN switch market," stated Scott Scherer, research analyst at In-Stat. "We view green issues as the IT industry's biggest challenge, and companies like NETGEAR that have adopted environmentally responsible practices early have significant opportunities to develop competitive advantage in their respective markets."

NETGEAR's ProSafe 24- and 48-port Gigabit switches are part of NETGEAR's growing family of Smart Switches that include no-cost management and maximum bandwidth and density -- providing industry-leading overall value. With 24 or 48 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, each capable of powering 2000 Mbps of data throughput in full-duplex mode, plus four optional fiber ports, NETGEAR's switches provide a 96 Gbps backbone. Four hot-swappable Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) slots provide optional fiber connectivity for greater distance. Advanced features include performance monitoring, security, port configuration, VLAN for traffic control, port trunking for increased bandwidth, and Class of Service (CoS) for traffic prioritization. NETGEAR's switches are specifically designed to consume less power for the entire networking ecosystem, which is essential for SMBs looking to reduce the total cost of ownership.

Tractor Supply Selects Motorola to Provide a Nationwide Enterprise Wireless LAN to Enhance MobilityEnterprise Installs Motorola Wireless LAN and RF Management Suite in 745 stores to Mobilize Business Processes

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Enterprise Mobility business of Motorola, Inc. and PartnerSelect Business Partner Quest Solution and PartnerSelect Premier Independent Software Vendor (ISV) StepOne Systems, today announced that Tractor Supply, the largest retail farm and ranch chain in the United States, has deployed an end-to-end Motorola enterprise mobility solution that includes deployment of 802.11 wireless LAN (WLAN) across its 745 stores nationwide to improve productivity, inventory management and store profitability. Tractor Supply also simplified its enterprise WLAN management by selecting Motorola's RF Management Suite for planning, deployment, 24x7 remote network monitoring and security.

Tractor Supply installed a Motorola WS2000 Wireless Switch and multiple AP300 802.11 a/b/g access ports in every store, providing full connectivity, visibility and management of all 745 stores at the corporate network level. Previously, Tractor Supply's receivers operated in batch mode and manually synchronized their data captured on mobile computers in a docking station and waited for nightly refreshes from corporate headquarters. The new system enables a higher level of efficiency and provides the ability for real-time merchandise inquiry and faster receiving of shipments.

Tractor Supply is also leveraging Motorola's RF Management Suite to provide locationing capabilities throughout its wireless enterprise network. The company's IT staff can remotely locate any of its newly deployed Motorola MC3090 mobile computers in any store from headquarters. This ensures that the mobile computers are fully utilized.

With StepOne Systems' retail application expertise, Tractor Supply created a next-generation store application that significantly increases business productivity and ROI of a mobility solution featuring Motorola's enterprise WLAN infrastructure. StepOne worked closely with the Tractor Supply team to develop in-store mobility applications in receiving, transfers, item inquiry and inventory management. The store application is built with the latest software technologies for mobile computing including .NET client using StepOne's snapRETAIL components and web services for store integration.

"We selected Motorola's mobility solution for high security and manageability with mobility applications such as locationing," said Alice McClellan, director of information technology, Tractor Supply. "The enterprise wireless LAN will help us better serve our customers with improved business processes like real-time merchandise inquiry and mobile warehousing."

Motorola's enterprise WLAN portfolio is PCI compliance capable out-of-the-box. The WS2000 WLAN switch provides an integrated stateful inspection firewall, VPN, wireless intrusion protection and supports the latest encryption and authentication standards available from IEEE, including Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) and WPA2.

"With nearly 20 years of wireless experience, Motorola has the most expertise in building enterprise wireless LANs having shipped more than 125,000 WLAN switches globally," said Sujai Hajela, vice president and general manager of Enterprise WLAN, Motorola Enterprise Mobility business. "Tractor Supply is a great example of how an enterprise can leverage wireless LAN technology from Motorola to improve their operations and ROI while greatly enhancing their ability to respond to customers' needs."

Quest Solution is managing the mobility project for Tractor Supply and is coordinating with other partners like StepOne that are involved with the enterprise WLAN installation at each location, as well as implementing the real-time inventory system on Motorola mobile computers. Additionally, Quest Solution will provide on-going training and support to ensure the success of the project.

"The ease of deployment and manageability of Motorola's enterprise wireless LAN allowed for a standardized, nationwide mobility infrastructure roll-out for Tractor Supply," said George Zicman, senior vice president of sales, Quest Solution. "Switching from a mobile synchronization platform to Motorola's enterprise mobility solution will increase business efficiencies such as real-time inventory tracking throughout all of its stores."

Enterprise WLAN is part of Motorola's portfolio of innovative wireless broadband solutions and services that complement and complete Internet Protocol (IP) networks. Delivering IP coverage to virtually all spaces both indoors and outdoors, the portfolio includes fixed broadband, mesh, broadband over powerline, WiMAX and Enterprise WLAN solutions for private and public networks.

Pearl Jam Offers First Mobile Bootlegs to Verizon Wireless CustomersIconic Band Also Helping in Local Communities by Supporting HopeLine(R) Phone Recycling Drives, Turning Unused Phones into Support for Victims of Domestic Violence

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Pearl Jam, one of the most respected and sought-after bands in the world, is expanding the band's bootleg program for their 12-city U.S. tour and joining forces with Verizon Wireless to further connect with fans through mobile music. Beginning with the first show of the Pearl Jam 2008 tour in West Palm Beach, Fla., on June 11, Verizon Wireless customers will have exclusive mobile access to the globally acclaimed band's first-ever mobile bootleg recordings. In addition, Pearl Jam will also be supporting Verizon Wireless' HopeLine program that turns unused wireless phones into support for victims of domestic violence by holding phone collection drives at each venue.

The Pearl Jam Mobile Bootleg Program

Every night of the tour, Pearl Jam's live concert performance will be recorded. After each performance, Pearl Jam's studio engineer will mix three songs on the Verizon Mobile Recording Studio Bus that will be released on V CAST Music. Verizon Wireless will offer one of the full-length tracks for free on V CAST Music; the other two full-length songs will be available, as well as the ringtones and ringback tones for all three songs, at standard costs. Each free mobile bootleg will be available until the following show; however, customers will be able to access and purchase all of the mobile bootlegs as they become available through the end of the tour. Fans can download Pearl Jam's songs as ringtones, ringback tones and full-song downloads either over-the-air onto their phones or on their PCs with V CAST Music from Verizon Wireless under the Pearl Jam category.

    HopeLine

Fans will have the opportunity to donate their old wireless phones at each stop of the tour by simply bringing no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories with them and dropping them in the HopeLine donation area at each venue. The first 50 people making a donation to HopeLine will receive a special Pearl Jam VIP gift bag. All Verizon Wireless customers making donations at each concert venue will receive a free Pearl Jam ringtone and ringback tone for bringing their old phones and accessories to the show. People not attending the show can bring their donation into Verizon Wireless Communications Stores. Verizon Wireless' HopeLine program puts the nation's most reliable wireless network to work in communities by turning unused wireless phones into support for victims of domestic violence. Verizon Wireless collects no-longer-used wireless phones in any condition from any wireless service provider and recycles them or refurbishes them for resale and reuse.

    Mobile Tickets

Verizon Wireless customers in each of the tour cities who have downloaded any type of Pearl Jam mobile content from V CAST since the beginning of the year will be entered for a chance to win tickets to the show. The mobile tickets -- containing a unique barcode and good for two seats at the most sought-after show in town -- will be delivered to the customers' mobile phones two weeks prior to the show and will be scanned at the entrance, just as paper tickets are scanned when fans enter a venue.

Ed Ruth, director of digital music for Verizon, said, "Pearl Jam has long been at the forefront of generations of talented artists taking action and speaking out on what's important to them, and mobile technology is a large part of that movement. Verizon Wireless delivers the opportunity for artists to interact directly with fans -- they can download music, win tickets to the show and now get the world's first mobile bootlegs from this legendary band."

"Pearl Jam continues to explore new and innovative ways to get their music to their fans," said Ten Club President Tim Bierman. "As we have learned from our younger fans, more and more listeners are accessing their music through their mobile handsets. Since Verizon Wireless and V CAST are at the forefront of that technology, this collaboration makes perfect sense to us. With our proven track record of delivering high-quality bootleg downloads and CDs, we feel this new approach will not only benefit our fans, but provide an exciting opportunity to share Pearl Jam's music in a more interactive setting."

Pearl Jam has been an innovator of rock and alternative music since 1990. Their global success on stage and sometimes on screen puts them in an elite category of artists that produce exceptional music and continue to play to sold out crowds the world over. Pearl Jam, whose albums have sold in excess of 60 million worldwide, has won numerous prestigious music industry accolades, including GRAMMY(R) Awards, American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and Esky Awards.

RSA, The Security Division of EMC, Expands Identity Assurance Portfolio With Flexible Card-Shaped Authenticator To Provide Convenient Online SecurityThe RSA SecurID(R) Display Card is designed to enable secure access for financial services firms' customers while striking the right balance between risk, cost and convenience

SAO PAULO, Brazil, June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Ciab Febraban 2008 -- RSA, The Security Division of EMC , today announced the worldwide availability of the RSA SecurID(R) 1100 Display Card, an event-based, one-time password (OTP) authenticator in a flexible card form-factor designed to help financial institutions and their customers secure online accounts and transactions with two-factor authentication.

A new addition to RSA's growing portfolio of Identity Assurance solutions that balance risk, cost-of-ownership and convenience, the RSA SecurID Display Card is easily carried in a wallet or purse, helping to solve the problem faced by financial institutions of how to ensure that their customers are protected by strong authentication in an easy-to-use manner. With the push of a button, a new one-time password is generated on the card's display providing organizations with two-factor authentication capabilities designed to protect consumers' online financial transactions -- including account access, bill pay, and money transfers.

"The card-shaped form factor of the OTP can improve security and usability for consumers," noted Mark Diodati, identity and privacy analyst with Burton Group. "The form factor is harmonized with the way that consumers interact with financial institution web sites. The technology also works well when consumers carry multiple OTPs in their wallets for access to multiple financial institutions."

    Protecting Consumers and Building Business

The RSA SecurID Display Card is powered by RSA(R) Authentication Manager 7.1 software and the RSA SecurID Authentication Engine. In addition, when the RSA SecurID Display Card is used in conjunction with a deployment of RSA(R) Transaction Monitoring, an online fraud detection and management solution, financial services organizations can provide their customers with the benefit of an additional layer of transaction protection to reduce online threats.

The RSA SecurID Display Card also helps to provide financial institutions with a competitive market advantage, increasing customer loyalty and online account usage while providing an appealing security feature to attract new customers. The RSA SecurID Display Card can be customized with the issuing financial institution's logo to reinforce the value of its brand, and can also be personalized with individual consumer information.

    Global Appeal

The convenience and attractiveness of the RSA SecurID Display Card will help bolster consumer acceptance and adoption of two-factor authentication worldwide while increasing the security of online accounts, especially in countries where there is limited online fraud protection. In addition, the RSA SecurID Display Card helps to meet established and developing information security regulations and guidelines related to Internet banking that vary by region.

-- In Latin America, the RSA SecurID Display Card supports specific regulatory mandates related to online security and two-factor authentication including Articulo 52 de la CNBV (Mexico), Normativa 3400 (Chile) and Circular 052 (Colombia). -- In the Asia Pacific region, financial services regulators, including the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Bank Negara Malaysia have issued guidance for banks around the implementation of two-factor authentication as an additional layer of account security. -- In Europe, two-factor authentication has long been used by consumers to protect their online transactions and has been the de-facto standard in areas including Northern Europe. -- In North America, the use of the RSA SecurID Display Card directly supports Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) guidance requiring two-factor authentication technology deployments within Internet banking environments.

"As there is no 'one size fits all' security solution, RSA continues to extend its full range of authentication solutions that balance cost, end-user convenience and security in order to help businesses select the technology that best suits their needs and customer requirements," said Sam Curry, Vice President of Product Management and Product Marketing, Identity & Access Assurance Group at RSA. "We are excited about bringing a new and convenient two-factor authentication device to the global financial services marketplace that will help increase consumer confidence in conducting financial transactions online."

SRS Labs Partners With Syntax-Brillian to Bring 5.1 Surround Sound to New Olevia LCD HDTVs- New Olevia 2 Series & 6 Series LCD HDTVs to feature SRS TruSurround XT(R)- Consumers to experience 5.1 virtual surround sound from built-in TV speakers

SANTA ANA, Calif., June 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SRS Labs, Inc. , the industry leader in surround sound, audio and voice technologies, announced today that U.S.-based Syntax-Brillian has licensed SRS TruSurround XT surround sound technology for their 2 Series and 6 Series brand LCD HDTVs.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20070322/LATH036LOGO)

Syntax-Brillian, one of the fastest growing TV brands, selected SRS Labs as their audio partner because of the unique and demonstrable features of SRS' advanced sound enrichment technologies. SRS TruSurround XT deployed in Olevia LCD HDTVs processes multichannel audio content found in television shows and movies to create an immersive surround sound experience over the TV's built-in stereo speakers. Olevia LCD HDTV customers will feel as if "phantom" speakers are placed around them, producing an amazing surround sound effect, without the clutter, wires, added expense or complexity of a multi-speaker configuration.

"SRS TruSurround XT is not only easy to integrate into our platform, but, more importantly, provides our customer's with a high-quality, immersive audio experience that matches the rich, vibrant images of our new lineup of Olevia LCD HDTVs that we plan to introduce this Summer," says Sam Miller, Senior Vice President of R&D for Syntax-Brillian. "We're happy to be working with an innovator like SRS Labs and look forward to developing our partnership further in the future."

According to the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), 76% of all flat panel TVs are used without a separate audio amplification system. Yet, the CEA also found that consumers consider audio to be nearly as important as video in terms of importance in an entertainment system. Further, SRS Labs' MarketTools study found that over 71% of HDTV buyers indicated that "audio quality" was their 3rd most important buying criteria out of a list of 18. By featuring SRS TruSurround XT in Olevia LCD HDTVs, Syntax-Brillian is providing consumers a convenient solution to experience the full extent of the surround sound capabilities built into DVD movies and TV programs.

"We are very excited about our new partnership with Syntax-Brillian. The combination of their leading edge designs and our ability to fine tune and customize our world-class sound enrichment solutions to optimize the overall performance of their Olevia LCD TVs enables us to provide today's demanding AV consumers with the best possible entertainment experience," said Allen Gharapetian, Vice President of Marketing for SRS Labs.

Beginning this Summer 2008, Syntax-Brillian will ship the new 2 Series and its 6 Series Olevia LCD HDTVs with SRS Labs' TruSurround XT to its North American retailers. Olevia LCD HDTVs range in size from 26-inches to 65-inches.

Sharp Partners With SRS Labs to Include TruSurround XT in AQUOS LCD Models for Asia and Europe- Sharp will use SRS Labs embedded technology in over 40 AQUOS LCD TV models- SRS TruSurround XT(R) is the ideal solution for flat panel displays, offering a compelling virtual surround sound experience from small speakers

SANTA ANA, Calif., June 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SRS Labs, Inc. , the industry leader in surround sound, audio and voice technologies, announced today that Sharp, one the top five manufacturers of LCD TVs in the world, has implemented SRS Labs' acclaimed TruSurround XT in the highly popular AQUOS line of LCD TVs designed for the Asian and European markets.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20070322/LATH036LOGO)

The licensing agreement with Sharp is for the use of SRS TruSurround XT in over 40 models, ranging in sizes from 32" to 52". The embedded technology will appear in 25 models for the Asian market and 16 models expressly for European sales. While Sharp has used SRS technologies in their TVs in the past, this is the first time they have incorporated SRS TruSurround XT due to its realistic rendering of virtual surround sound effects.

Sharp, a global leader in LCD televisions year after year, brings quality and innovation to LCD TV technology and continually raises the bar for outstanding ergonomics and performance. The AQUOS brand is known for their vivid picture quality and their beautifully designed frames and cabinets. The addition of SRS TruSurround XT completes the package providing superior, world-class audio performance that transforms the entertainment experience to a new level.

SRS TruSurround XT processes up to 7-channels of audio for playback over two speakers. When receiving multichannel content, TruSurround XT virtualizes the channels creating "phantom" speakers that appear to extend all around the listener, producing an immersive and realistic surround sound effect. When receiving a mono or stereo signal, TruSurround XT delivers an expansive three-dimensional sound field for a much improved surround sound effect.

SRS TruSurround XT is ideal for flat panel displays, such as the Sharp AQUOS LCD, because, according to the Consumer Electronics Association, 76% of all flat panel TVs are used without a separate audio amplification system. This means that, without SRS TruSurround XT, over two-thirds of consumers will not be able to experience the full extent of the surround sound capabilities built into DVD movies or TV programs.

"This is an important strategic alliance for both SRS and Sharp as it confirms the trend towards delivering great audio alongside great video for a complete, immersive entertainment experience," said Allen Gharapetian, VP of Marketing for SRS Labs. "As flat panel TVs become slimmer and slimmer, built-in speakers continue to shrink in size, posing serious challenges in delivering powerful audio. It is not a surprise that more OEMs and product designers are realizing the benefits of teaming up with SRS Labs and incorporating our unique technologies to meet critical design requirements while delivering the best possible audio experience to the consumers."

CCID Consulting Reviews Motorola Performance in the Mobile Phone Market

BEIJING, June 11 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- CCID Consulting, China's leading research, consulting and IT outsourcing service provider, and the first Chinese consulting firm listed in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Stock Exchange: HK08235), recently analyzed through its Enterprises Strategy Consulting Center, Motorola's failure in the mobile phone market.

On March 26th 2008, Motorola announced the split of continuous defective mobile phone business among other businesses. CCID Consulting statistics show that the market share of Motorola mobile phone decreased from 22.2% in 2006 to 12% in 2007, ranking 3rd after Samsung. The proportion of mobile phone business in Motorola also decreased from 70% to 52%. Besides, its profit contribution in 2006 is $2.7 billion, but in 2007, its profit contribution in 2007 is with deficit of $1.2 billion.

Whether Motorola would give up the mobile phone industry is still not known, as Motorola once made a miraculous comeback one with the launch of its V3 mobile phone in 2004, when analysts considered the move as a regain of its lost territory. After three years, however, Motorola makes the decision to peal off its mobile phone business. CCID Consulting summarizes six marketing errors while examining Motorola's recent marketing strategies.

Error One. Motorola's Addiction to Killer Product V3 Led to Disorientation in Product Development Direction

In 2005, Motorola's profit increased 102%, its mobile phone shipment increased 40% and Motorola's brand revives. V3 is still popular in many countries.

CCID Consulting finds out that star mobile phone products can be popular for 2-3 years before 2005, while it is not the case after then. Even the most popular mobile phone failed to maintain a good sale in more than 1 year. V3 was a bounce-back product for Motorola in the mobile phone market, but the addiction in V3's market success does not help Motorola in exploring new development direction. In the later 3 years, Motorola only prolongs the lifecycle of V3 factitiously, losing the chance to catch hot spots in the mobile phone market. On the other hand, competitors of Motorola succeeded in finding suitable position in the market, such as music mobile phones of Sony- Ericsson, navigation mobile phones of Dopod.

Error Two. Slow in Launching New Products

The RAZR series brings billions of dollars for Motorola. However, Motorola has not put profit into new products R&D to consolidate its market position. As a result, Motorola is far behind its competitors in launching new products.

CCID Consulting statistics show that Motorola releases thirteen new mobile phones in 2007, far less than that of its competitors (Samsung releases 54 new products and Nokia releases 37 new products). Benefiting from plentiful production lines, Samsung and Nokia provide different products to different channels so that there is less competition among channels. However, Motorola's sales channels are more competitive due to less new mobile phones, which results in lower gross profit rate.

Error Three. Price Cut Erodes Brand Image

Price cut is an evitable method for Motorola to increase sales volume. For example, upon entering the market, as a high-end product, the price of V3 is more than 6000 Yuan, while it drops to 4000 Yuan for white-collar consumers and soon to 2000 Yuan for common consumers. After production of V3 ceased, the price of V3 is 1200 Yuan. In less than 2 years, the price of V3 decreases by about 80%, which is unacceptable for most high-end users. CCID Consulting's research reports show that consumers' brand loyalty to Motorola is at the bottom among abroad brands. Facing the cruelty of price wars, market share and profit rate of Motorola keeps decreasing. The profit rate of Motorola is only 11.2%, while Nokia reaches 16.8% at present.

Let's have a look at the price strategy of Nokia. For classical products, Nokia would rather stop production than reduce price frequently in order to maintain product image. For example, Nokia actively stops the production of 7650, 6610, N70, N72, N93 and develops new products to occupy the market.

Error Four. Lack of Product Feature

Mobile phone manufacturers have trained consumer to diversify in their demand on mobile phones. Except for product appearance, consumers pay more attention to configuration and functions of mobile phones. However, similar products of Nokia are superior to those of Motorola in pixels, screen definition, and memory capacities. For example, Motorola is absent in the competition of 500 million pixels mobile phones in 2007.

In terms of appearance, Motorola's new products such as U series, L series, and K series did not make a breakthrough over V3, which causes visual fatigue and even rejection towards the series.

Error Five. Fail to Emphasize on Product Selling Points

V3 is a classic in both product design and market promotion. Motorola succeeds in finding the equilibrium point between technology and market. However, Motorola loses this equilibrium after V3. For example, 'Ming' series mobile phones, developed by China Research Center, integrate many innovating technologies of Motorola such as name card scanning and human-machine interaction. However, these innovations are not highlighted in its market promotion.

Error Six: Disjunction of R&D and Demands

Motorola is a technology-oriented enterprise; engineer culture is intense in this company. This company considers itself as the center. Motorola has marketing department which collects information of consumers' demands, but in this technology-oriented enterprise, consumers' demands are difficult to hear by R&D departments. R&D departments prefer to expend much energy on complicated system, which leads to a disjunction of R&D and demands.

Besides, because of the disunity and instability of Motorola's internal products' planning strategy, upstream components' purchasing costs are high. Every model of Motorola has different platforms, which brings difficult to production, purchase and plan.

For global top communications equipment suppliers, it is an impossible task to operate system equipments and mobile phone terminals. Ericsson, Alcatel, Siemens and Nokia successively finish the choice questions. Motorola also did this choice question in 2004, and it peeled off its semiconductor department which is its major chip supplier for Motorola mobile phone -- Freescale. After four years, Motorola faces this choice again. It is not a natural disaster, but man-made calamity.

Turbodyne Technologies' Fleet Services Unit Receives Order for TurboPacs(TM)

    VENTURA, California, June 11 /PRNewswire/ --

Turbodyne Technologies, Inc.

Ark Asset Management Co., Inc. Selects Eagle ACCESS ASP Solution

    BOSTON, June 11 /PRNewswire/ --

Eagle Investment Systems LLC, a leading provider of financial services technology and a subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon, today announced that Ark Asset Management Co., Inc. (Ark), a leading investment management firm in the institutional marketplace, will transition its installation of the Eagle investment management suite, which is currently managed in-house, to the Eagle ACCESS application service provider.

In 2003, Ark implemented Eagle's data management, accounting, and performance solutions to leverage the advanced functionality, flexibility and scalability they provided. Since then, Ark has incrementally shifted its technology strategy from internally managing its middle- and back-office systems to a total outsource model. The migration to Eagle ACCESS will be the final step in the process. Once completed, it will allow the firm to focus on growing its asset management business, improving its IT infrastructure and reducing its number of committed resources.

"When we began our relationship with Eagle years ago, our initial goal was to acquire a data management, performance and investment accounting system that offered flexibility, ease-of-use and scalability, and Eagle's solutions have certainly met this need," said Gillian Plastaras, chief administrative officer of Ark Asset Management Co., Inc. "As our firm has evolved, we have shifted our focus to leveraging Eagle's robust solutions to our maximum benefit, without the costs and need for additional resources dedicated to managing and maintaining an in-house platform."

Since 2004, Ark has outsourced all of its IT and middle- and back-office operations to iX Partners, including Ark's technology-related staffing, vendor management and service delivery requirements. iX Partners will continue managing the remaining in-house technology and will interface directly with Eagle ACCESS on Ark's behalf.

"For a few years now, Ark has been using hosted and outsourced solutions to run its IT and investment operations," said Paul Cucurullo, managing partner of iX Partners. "This is Ark's next step in the direction of moving all systems off site to allow its business leaders to focus on core business competencies. As a strategic partner of Ark's we will use our Eagle and investment management operations expertise to leverage Eagle ACCESS' outstanding capabilities and to continue in our strategic and tactical role with Ark."

"In today's economic state, we have noticed a trend where many firms like Ark want to concentrate on core business needs and allow service providers to manage the scheduled upgrades, disaster recovery, and other technology requirements," said John Lehner, president of Eagle. "By leveraging the Eagle ACCESS model, Ark will be able to reduce its infrastructure overhead and repurpose those resources toward expanding its business and servicing investors."

About Ark Asset Management Co., Inc.

India's Leading Credit Rating Firm Switches to Entrust IdentityGuardAgreement allows CRISIL to deploy more efficient, cost-effective strong authentication for mobile workforce

DALLAS, June 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- India's leading credit rating, research, risk and policy advisory company, CRISIL, required a more efficient, cost-effective solution to secure their remote users. To solve the challenge and enable secure communication with their mobile workforce, Entrust, Inc. and partner IndusFace Consulting deployed the Entrust IdentityGuard versatile authentication platform and one-time-passcode (OTP) tokens.

"The Entrust IdentityGuard authentication platform provided us with a cost-effective solution to extend two-factor authentication capabilities to many more remote access users than was previously possible," said CRISIL Chief Technology Officer Hiren Shah. "What we specifically liked about the Entrust IdentityGuard solution was the choice of having the option to deploy multiple types of tokens."

CRISIL cited the comprehensive cost-benefit of Entrust's strong authentication solution in terms of initial investment and recurring long-term costs as the main reasons behind adopting the solution. The platform's dynamic multifactor authentication capabilities enable the organization to provide its employees a variety of authenticators, as necessary.

"A trusted firm in India, CRISIL recognized the capabilities of hardware tokens, but traditional token offerings were often too expensive for the organization, which strives for a security strategy that is both efficient and cost-effective," said Entrust Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Conner. "Particularly as a means to authenticate a mobile workforce, Entrust IdentityGuard tokens represent an affordable alternative for organizations seeking a high level of security provided by one-time-passcode tokens but haven't been able to justify the cost -- until now."

The agreement, facilitated by IndusFace Consulting, displaced CRISIL's previous token vendor for the Entrust IdentityGuard versatile authentication platform -- a key component of strong layered security strategy -- and $5 Entrust IdentityGuard Mini Tokens to help protect their valuable corporate resources from external breach.

IndusFace Consulting Chief Technology Officer Ashish Tandon added, "Our in-depth knowledge in deploying Entrust solutions in heterogeneous environments made it possible for us to successfully implement the entire Entrust IdentityGuard solution, as well as meet all project timelines to perfection and customer satisfaction for CRISIL. It has been our privilege to work with CRISIL and we remain committed to customer service and satisfaction."

Entrust IdentityGuard enables organizations to layer security -- according to access requirements or the risk of a given transaction -- across diverse users and applications. The platform's authentication options include username and password, IP-geolocation, machine/device, questions and answers, out-of-band one-time passcode (delivered via voice, SMS or e-mail), grid cards and a range of one-time-passcode tokens -- priced as low as $5 each. Entrust IdentityGuard also provides multiple methods of supporting mutual authentication, including picture and caption replay.

The Entrust IdentityGuard solution helps organizations minimize operational challenges such as burden to help desks and infrastructure maintenance. It includes a complete Web-based administration capability for user and policy management, enabling organizations to easily distribute administrative tasks to the right individuals, all based on role.

A Standard and Poor's Company, CRISIL offers domestic and international customers a unique combination of local insights and global perspectives, delivering independent information, opinions and solutions that help them make better informed business and investment decisions, improve the efficiency of markets and market participants, and help shape infrastructure policy and projects. USPTO Publishes Destiny Media's Watermarking PatentProprietary Technology Protects Media Files without Requiring DRM

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Destiny Media (BULLETIN BOARD: DSNY) is pleased to announce the US patent office has published Destiny's application entitled Methods For Watermarking Media Data (US 2008/0098022 A1). This important step moves the patent into a queue for review by an examiner. The company has also filed a PCT application to protect the October 18, 2006 priority date outside of North America.

The published patent can be downloaded from http://www.dsny.com/patent/0098022.pdf

Destiny's technique is much faster and more robust than other solutions and it is compatible with non digital formats such as analog radio.

There is strong consumer demand to purchase unprotected media files that enable customers to make personal copies of media they've purchased online. A digital watermark is a high value solution for the content owner that holds the customer accountable if they also create unauthorized copies. Forensic watermarking is expected to be a common feature of online digital media sales in the future and Destiny's proprietary patent pending technology provides numerous advantages over other solutions.

A forensic watermark is a digital identifying trace that is embedded into a media file to identify where the file originated. Other watermarking techniques rely on transforms that can be extremely tedious and slow. Often, it can take ten seconds or more to embed the mark into a typical song. In an online sales environment, this loads the server, while limiting simultaneous access to content. Destiny's mark can be embedded in near real time, allowing a content owner to deliver the same encrypted file to every user, locking it to their machine, then embedding the mark as it is burned to CD or exported into any standard file format.

Competing solutions offer a trade off between sound quality and the robustness of the mark. Either the mark can be heard by audiophiles, or it is so light that it can be easily filtered. Major record labels have done tests with their best sound engineers in professional sound studios and the MPE(R) mark was shown to be inaudible, even though it is nearly impossible to remove.

When a file is downsampled to a lower sampling rate or converted to another format, the mark is usually lost. Destiny's trace survives file conversion and compression to as low as 32 kbit / second with at least a 99% recovery rate.

Very few watermarks survive conversion to a non digital format, but an MPE(R) mark can be recovered from an "on air" radio broadcast or other analog format. Even if a third or more of the watermark information is lost, the remaining MPE(R) forensic information can still be rebuilt.

Destiny's watermark is a feature of the Play MPE(R) system, which the major record labels use to deliver pre-release music to trusted recipients such as radio, the media and buyers and it is imperative for them that recipients be held accountable. The Play MPE(R) system was designed to enable detailed session information describing the creation of the file to be embedded as it is created or burned to CD then recovered in a few minutes in the case of a leak.

This is Destiny's second pending patent. The first # 20020146122 Digital Media Distribution Method and System claims a foreign priority date of March 3, 2000. This invention recognizes authorized machines and locks content so that it will only play on that particular machine.

    About Play MPE(R)

With over 21,000 users and over 83,000 songs from more than 1,000 record labels, including Universal Music Group, EMI Music Group, Sony BMG and Warner Music Group, Destiny's Play MPE(R) system is the most widely used digital distribution system available to the recording and radio industries. Play MPE(R) is a secure distribution system that features state-of-the-art encryption to protect content while delivering high definition audio to users in radio, marketing and media. A powerful promotional tool, Play MPE(R) also allows record companies to distribute video, text and graphics including music videos, CD covers, credits, lyrics, promotions, and other content.
