DENVER, June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Online Entertainment LLC announced the release of Oathbreaker, the fourth set of the EverQuest(R) franchise online strategy game, Legends of Norrath(TM). Oathbreaker continues to draw upon the influence of SOE's groundbreaking EverQuest(R) franchise, adding fun and familiar elements, including items and characters beautifully illustrated with high-fantasy flair. Oathbreaker will enthrall players with a tale of corruption from within, and redemption that comes at a terrible cost, providing an unprecedented level of drama in the ongoing saga. While Oathbreaker brings the story of your Oathbound hero to a dramatic finale, new gameplay builds on existing functionality and allows for even more creative strategies to emerge.

"And, with the introduction of Oathbreaker, many more matches are on the horizon. There are more ways than ever to enhance your strategies, explore different decks and try out new combos. We're eager to introduce the new raid and open up cooperative play. And, with the Monthly Sprint Tournaments that started in early June, there are more opportunities for players to climb the rankings and earn special promo cards and free loot."
Not only does Oathbreaker complete the story arc which originated with LoN's first set, Oathbound -- it's also the last LoN release before the World Championship event at Gen Con Indy, August 14-17, where up to 32 finalists are slated to compete for up to $100,000 in cash prizes. July 12-13 marks the last opportunity to compete in a monthly online Championship Qualifier tournament before the World Championship event. At Gen Con, two days of qualification heats, open to all Gen Con attendees 18 and older, will take place before the final championship day.
Developed at SOE's Denver studio, Legends of Norrath is the only online strategy game based on and playable from SOE's popular EverQuest(R) and EverQuest(R) II MMOs, as well as from a stand-alone client using a free SOE Station Account (available at http://www.station.com/). Play For Free -- SOE is providing all registered LoN users even more complimentary content and bonus features in the game client, including ten new scenarios that tell the tale of Oathbreaker and a brand new raid. Go to http://www.legendsofnorrath.com/ for complete details.
New Raid Play -- In the Antechamber of Fate, up to four players can face off against the powerful island guardian Chel'Drak, the dragon turtle!
New Gameplay -- "Charge" is a new keyword that provides additional bonuses to cards while players have, or get rid of, their charge tokens. Re-linkable navigation offers greater flexibility in play by allowing linked cards to be linked again to a new target.
New Faces -- Delve into new avatar races (Froglok and Erudite), unit types, legends, keywords and abilities. Explore more of your favorite EverQuest and EverQuest II classes with the introduction of "unarmed" Monks, Coercers, Templars and Beastlords (with their warder pets)!

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GPS Industries, Inc. (GPSI) (BULLETIN BOARD: GPSN) , the only provider of Wi-Fi powered, advertising enhanced GPS systems for golf facilities, resorts and residential communities, announces that it has appointed David Chessler as Chief Executive Officer effective June 16, 2008 and has significantly improved the liquidity of the Company as part of our re-financing plan.
Appointment of David Chessler as CEO
Mr. Chessler was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective June 16, 2008. Mr. Chessler is a key component of the company's restructuring plan. "David's experience in this industry, his success in asset based lending and his management skills identified him as the ideal choice for the company's CEO," said Company Director, Bart Collins. Mr. Chessler has also been elected to the Company's Board of Directors.
David Chessler, former CEO of Parview, is a seasoned veteran in the GPS golf business with several years of experience in various management and executive capacities in the industry. Re-financing Plan
GPSI is pleased to announce that it has closed the next phase of its recapitalization plan by issuing a $5.5 million convertible note to Tulip Group Investments, Ltd ("Tulip"). The note is convertible into both newly authorized Series C Preferred Stock Shares at $10.00 per share and common stock shares at $0.031 per share yielding 177.4 million common stock shares. GPSI also issued warrants to Tulip to purchase up to 22.5 million common stock shares at $0.12 which expire in May of 2012. When combined with the $3.5 million recently infused into GPSI via an expanded bank line provided by Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and guaranteed by Great White Shark Enterprises (GWSE), the total new financing available to GPSI is $9.0 million.
As a follow up, GPSI, GWSE and the Estate of Douglas Wood have agreed in principal to convert approximately $3.4 million of short term liabilities due to both GWSE and the Estate of Douglas Wood into 3 year Notes accruing interest at 7% with interest and principal due on maturity. More TV Choice and Competition Near for Residents of Ashland, Plymouth, Mass.Towns Approve Video Licenses for VerizonService Now Available in North Andover; Thousands More Households Can Get FiOS TV
ASHLAND, Mass. and PLYMOUTH, Mass., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Residents of Ashland and Plymouth are a major step closer to having another choice for their cable television services, thanks to two newly approved agreements authorizing Verizon to offer its FiOS TV service via the most advanced all-digital, fiber-optic network straight to customers' homes.
The boards of selectmen in Ashland and Plymouth have granted cable franchises to Verizon, paving the way for video choice for thousands more Massachusetts households. Licenses were granted in Plymouth on Tuesday (June 17) and Ashland on Wednesday (June 18).
Also this week, Verizon announced that it has made FiOS TV service available to residents of North Andover, where it received a cable TV franchise license on June 2.
This brings to 74 the total number of Massachusetts communities where Verizon's FiOS TV is or will soon be available.
"We are thrilled to be able to bring FiOS TV to residents in these communities," said Donna Cupelo, Verizon region president for Massachusetts and Rhode Island. "Since the launch of FiOS TV in Massachusetts last year, we are continuing our efforts to meet the consumer demand for cable TV choice."
FiOS TV is the company's new fiber-optic television service, which offers a better-quality picture, more high-definition and on-demand programs, and more reliable service at competitive prices.
Verizon currently offers FiOS TV in 72 Massachusetts communities (see list below) as well as other locations in New York, New Jersey, California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia.
"As a result of this new franchise, consumers in these communities can choose their cable provider as easily as they choose their phone company," said Cupelo. "Competition drives innovation, value and service quality, and it puts the consumer in control."
Verizon is currently in negotiations with several other communities in Massachusetts to obtain additional franchises. For more information on the Verizon franchise process in the state, log on to http://www.verizon.com/ma.
Verizon research indicates 87 percent of Massachusetts residents favor more competition and choice for video services. Independent studies have shown that competition in the video market brings enormous benefits to consumers in the form of reduced prices, better packages and improved service.
The Ashland and Plymouth franchise agreements contain provisions for the network's future growth; financial support and capacity for educational and government access channels; cable service to government buildings; and other important benefits to the town, including insurance, indemnification and enforcement protections.
"Verizon will compete aggressively for subscribers in these communities with our FiOS services, which are fueled by our lightning-fast fiber-optic network," Cupelo said. Verizon soon will begin its door-to-door sales campaign in Ashland, Plymouth, and North Andover, explaining to local consumers the many advantages of FiOS TV.
Verizon is the first company to offer a fiber-to-the premises (FTTP) network, connecting homes and businesses directly to fiber optics on a widespread scale.
FiOS TV offers a broad collection of all-digital programming, 30 high-definition channels, thousands of video on demand titles and more. Fiber delivers amazingly sharp pictures and sound, and has the capacity to transmit a wide array of high-definition programming that is so clear and intense it seems to leap from the TV screen.
In addition to FiOS TV, Verizon's fiber network also allows the company to offer consumers and businesses high-speed FiOS Internet service at download speeds up to 50 Mbps (megabits per second) and upload speeds up to 20 Mbps.*
* NOTE: actual (throughput) speeds will vary.
[FiOS TV is available in Abington, Acton, Andover, Arlington, Bedford, Belmont, Boxborough, Boxford, Braintree, Burlington, Canton, Dedham, Dunstable, Framingham, Franklin, Georgetown, Hamilton, Hingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Ipswich, Lakeville, Lawrence, Lincoln, Littleton, Lexington, Lynn, Lynnfield, Malden, Marion, Marlborough, Marshfield, Mattapoisett, Medfield, Medway, Melrose, Methuen, Middleborough, Nahant, Natick, Needham, Newton, Norfolk, North Andover, North Reading, Norwood, Reading, Rochester, Rockland, Rowley, Sherborn, Southborough, Stoneham, Sudbury, Swampscott, Taunton, Tewksbury, Topsfield, Tyngsborough, Wakefield, Walpole, Waltham, Wareham, Wayland, Wellesley, Wenham, West Newbury, Westborough, Westwood, Wilmington, Winchester and Woburn.]

KEMET Releases New MIL-PRF-123 Space-Level CeramicsIncludes the only 1uF surface-mount MIL-PRF-123 capacitor on the market
GREENVILLE, S.C., June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- KEMET Corporation announced today the introduction of four new first-to-market surface-mount (SMD) MIL-PRF-123 space-level ceramic capacitors. The new M123A13BXB105KZ (KEMET PN C2225Z105K5XAL) from KEMET is the only 50V 1uF SMD ceramic capacitor in the marketplace that is qualified to the MIL-PRF-123 specification.
(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080619/CLTH077 )
These first-to-market products were developed in response to the Department of Defense's need for higher capacitance in SMD ceramic capacitors that meet the most demanding space-level requirements per MIL-PRF-123. In order to meet the DoD program requirements, KEMET successfully completed MIL-PRF-123 qualification, which includes 4,000 hours of life testing at twice rated voltage at 125 degrees C. KEMET also developed and qualified plated 70/30 Sn/Pb terminations for reduced dimensions when compared to Hot Solder Dipped terminations. The M123A13 is available in both plated and hot solder dipped tin-lead termination options.
KEMET is also expanding its MIL-PRF-123 through-hole line of products in response to DSSC's recent extension of available values in the Mil spec. The molded radial through-hole expansions offer improved capacitance values and higher voltages.
"The introduction of these new and expanded MIL-PRF-123 part types demonstrates our commitment to meeting our customers' needs for this critical family of products," said Travis Ashburn, Product Manager, Specialty Ceramics. "During the last six months, KEMET has launched MIL-PRF-49470 ceramic stacked capacitors, introduced a new Sn/Pb plated surface-mount termination for military performance space-level and established-reliability capacitors, extended capacitance and voltage ranges on our M123 through-hole capacitors, and introduced four first-to-market SMD ceramic M123 capacitors."
"This product announcement is an extension of KEMET's vision to become the number one preferred supplier of capacitors to the Defense and Aerospace market," said KEMET Chief Executive Officer Per Loof, "and part of our larger commitment to be a technology leader in the industry."
Available specifications for the new products are shown in the appended table. Drawings are also attached.
KEMET Corporation applies world-class service and quality to deliver industry-leading, high-performance capacitance solutions to its customers around the world. KEMET offers the world's most complete line of surface-mount and through-hole capacitor technologies across tantalum, ceramic, film, aluminum, electrolytic, and paper dielectrics. New Financial Industry Research Demonstrates Importance of Automated Customer Communications for $400 Trillion in Outstanding OTC Derivatives ContractsStudy Conducted by TABB Group Cites Automation of Customer Communications as Key Driver for Mitigating Risk in Contract Negotiations and Confirmations
HOPKINTON, Mass., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Manual, paper-based processes of contract negotiations and confirmations in the $400 trillion over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives market have created a substantial backlog of trade confirmations, according to a new research study by TABB Group, an independent financial markets research and strategic advisory firm. From June to August 2007 alone, the total number of backlogged confirmations -- the legal records evidencing derivatives trades -- jumped 250 percent, according to the study. The backlog of trade confirmation documents has resulted in poor transparency and left the financial services sector exposed to unnecessary financial and legal risk. In many cases, according to the report, confirmations were not only unsigned but also uncreated.
The TABB Group study, OTC Derivatives Processing: Blazing a Trail to Automation, which is being distributed through EMC, the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, reports that the estimated outstanding value of all OTC interest rate, currency, credit, and equity derivatives has grown nearly 30 percent a year since 2002. As of mid-2007, the study estimates there were $400 trillion in outstanding OTC derivatives contracts. But as the market has expanded, the automation of customer communication management processes such as contract negotiations and confirmations has not kept pace, resulting in the substantial backlog, according to the report.
EMC Document Sciences xPression(R) 3 software suite enables organizations to automate the creation and delivery of highly customized communications, including contracts, policies, statements, and correspondence. xPression for Derivatives manages contract negotiations and confirmations online in a secure and easy-to-use environment, which expedites complex OTC derivatives processes with granular-level risk management capabilities.
"In this world where hundreds of millions of dollars are invested in nonstandard products, human error can lead to huge monetary losses and litigation," said Kevin McPartland, TABB Group Senior Analyst. "Automation of the customer communications process is a must-have for any business competing in this market, as the potential for loss could be devastating. Newer methods of affirmation include software specially designed to manage communications between counterparties to ensure trade details are correct. Solutions such as those offered by EMC allow for online negotiation of the trade, which mitigates risk by saving time and enabling greater transparency of details."
"The report by TABB Group is a wakeup call for the financial services industry and offers a detailed picture of the continuing challenges it faces with OTC derivatives," said J. Douglas Winter, Vice President and General Manager of the Document Sciences business unit of EMC's Content Management and Archiving Division. "Solutions such as xPression for Derivatives can provide more transparency, less risk, and greater peace of mind for firms still struggling with negotiations and confirmations that do not adhere to an automated process."
Master agreements, confirmations, and workflow processes for OTC transactions all present unique challenges to financial services firms. Negotiating a complicated master agreement, for example, requires frequent counterparty communication, most of which is still performed manually, leading to significant backlogs. Each trade might have 100-plus data points to affirm with the counterparty before a custom confirmation document can be created. According to the report, the creation of this document is at the heart of the OTC derivatives backlog, which has resulted in unnecessary risk and poor transparency.
EMC Document Sciences is part of EMC's Content Management and Archiving division. In addition to providing customer communications management solutions for the OTC derivatives market, EMC offers a suite of transactional content management products that address the broad spectrum of challenges in derivatives management, including collaboration to aid agreement negotiation, business process automation to ensure accuracy and auditability of the approval process, paper digitization to convert paper to instantly usable business assets, and automated retention management and archiving to ensure legal compliance. EMC is well positioned to deliver a full end-to-end suite of capabilities to speed OTC derivatives management.
"Buy-side firms are more likely to seek out end-to-end systems rather than purchasing building blocks to integrate with homegrown products," McPartland said. "This trend has led many software providers to either merge with firms providing complementary products or form alliances creating integrated end-to-end solutions. For example, Document Science's acquisition by EMC has created a suite of products -- EMC also owns Documentum -- which allows one- stop shopping."

General Motors, Carnegie Mellon Commit to Develop Driverless Vehicles
PITTSBURGH, June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ General Motors Corp. and Carnegie Mellon University today announced a new Collaborative Research Lab (CRL) and a renewed commitment to work jointly on technologies that will accelerate the emerging field of autonomous driving -- a family of electronics and software technologies that could influence the way drivers and their vehicles interact in the future.
(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20020422/CMULOGO )
The GM-Carnegie Mellon Autonomous Driving Collaborative Research Lab is being established under the terms of a five-year, $5 million agreement. The lab will operate as an extension of GM's Global Research & Development network and will be located at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. Faculty from the university's School of Computer Science and College of Engineering will participate.
"GM and Carnegie Mellon University have a lengthy and successful history of working together on autonomous and robotic technologies," said Alan Taub, executive director of GM Research & Development in Warren, Mich. "We have a shared vision of developing technologies that have the potential to resolve transportation challenges. Continuing this successful working relationship is a natural next step toward achieving our mutual goals."
GM teamed with Carnegie Mellon last November to win first place in the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge, a competition between driverless vehicles over a 55-mile course of urban and suburban roadways held in Victorville, Calif. The race was a historic event for personal transportation, and an emphatic proof point that autonomous technology is real - cars can drive themselves.
"Technologies ranging from electronics, controls and software to wireless capabilities and digital mapping could ultimately change how people drive and use their vehicles," said Larry Burns, GM vice president of R&D and Strategic Planning. "Imagine being virtually chauffeured safely in your car while doing your e-mail, eating breakfast and watching the news. The work we're doing with Carnegie Mellon is a big stepping stone toward making this a reality."
"Carnegie Mellon has been a pioneer in autonomous navigation of robotic vehicles, beginning in 1984 with our series of NavLab vehicles," said Rick McCullough, Carnegie Mellon vice president for research. "We are eager to see this technology used to improve the safety and convenience of the cars and trucks we depend upon every day and we could wish for no better partner than GM to make this happen."
In 2000, General Motors and Carnegie Mellon established their first CRL to conduct joint research in smart car technology and in 2003 that commitment to work together was renewed. The work of that CRL continues and, though it is separate from the new Autonomous Driving CRL, its success was a factor in the decision to launch the new CRL.
"Carnegie Mellon is one of only 10 academic institutions around the world involved in GM's CRL program," said Nady Boules, director of the Electrical & Controls Integration Lab at GM R&D and co-director of the new CRL. "Working with the best in a specific field significantly expands GM's technical capabilities in areas we consider strategic."
"Research in this new lab will focus on creating and maturing the underlying technologies required to build the autonomous vehicle of the future," said Raj Rajkumar, Carnegie Mellon professor of electrical and computer engineering and co-director of the new CRL. "Autonomous vehicles will change the face of transportation by reducing deaths and injuries from automobile accidents and increasing the convenience and comfort of vehicles."

The Webber deployment also demonstrates that no matter how safe you are - and they're as safe as college campuses get - you still need to think about the unthinkable and have a plan to deal with it," said John Von Thaden, director of advanced solutions for Federal Signal's Public Safety Systems Division.
Webber International University President Rex R. Yentes said, "We're very grateful to Federal. They have installed a great system for us. It's one of those things you hope you never need, but you're glad you have just in case. Their timing just couldn't have been better. We just rolled out degrees in security management. Now we don't have to take the students on a field trip to show them a state of the art mass notification system."
"We have been thinking about how we notify our campus quickly in the event of an emergency. With something as critical as emergency notification, you want it done right. I didn't want to compromise; I wanted Federal Signal. We really knew we needed this, but with continually rising costs and our commitment to keep tuition affordable, I just didn't know exactly how to pull it off right now," said University Executive Vice President Keith Wade. "Federal really came to the rescue on this one. They came through not only with a warning siren that can be heard anywhere on our entire campus, but also text, e-mail, and voice notification. While our University president is right about it being of interest to our Security Management majors, our Computer Information Systems majors could learn a lot from this system too. While our one mouse click only sets off one siren, one e-mail notification server and one voice notification server, one could just as easily run a statewide alert with Federal's sophisticated system."
Von Thaden added, "Federal has always been involved in protecting communities. Yes, it is nice that folks studying business - including the security side of business - can see Federal's products up close and personal. But it's even nicer to know that even though Webber was one of America's safest campuses before we arrived, it's a little safer today because of us. We hope they never have to sound the alarm, but, if they do, because it's a Federal Signal system, they'll be ready."
The Codespear-enabled Federal Signal campus alerting and notification solution is part of the Federal Signal Public Safety Systems industry platform.

MedeFile Launches National Televised Ad Campaign30 Second Spots Running on CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, Bloomberg and FOX News Channels, Among Others
CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J., June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MedeFile International, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: MDFI) , a company specializing in portable electronic medical records management solutions, today announced that it has launched a nationally televised advertising campaign to generate broad consumer awareness of MedeFile's patient-centric electronic medical records management solution.
Over the next four weeks, 300 30-second commercials will air on national cable news channels, including CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, Bloomberg and FOX News, among others. "This televised ad campaign is designed to help educate consumers nationwide on the many benefits, convenience and peace of mind afforded by the MedeFile system," stated Milton Hauser, founder, Chairman and CEO of MedeFile. "The recent violent storms, tornados and mass flooding that have destroyed homes and businesses throughout the Midwest are a yet another painful reminder that natural disasters can occur quickly, leaving little time to secure vital documents such as medical records. MedeFile's members know that whatever comes - be it natural disaster, fire, document misplacement or the closing of a medical or dental practice, their health records are safe, secure and accessible to them, emergency first responders and authorized healthcare providers anytime, anywhere."
MedeFile is committed to providing everyone within the U.S. healthcare system with efficient, secure, simple and cost-effective tools and services to facilitate the best, most economical application of medical and health information, thus helping to enhance patients' medical outcomes without unnecessary costs, unnecessary redundancy in testing and treatment protocols and unnecessary hassle typically associated with managing unwieldy 'paper' records and files. Moreover, by subscribing to the MedeFile system, not only will members empower themselves to take control of their own health and well-being, they empower all healthcare providers to make sound and lifesaving decisions with the most accurate, up-to-date medical information available. What's more, unlike other medical record management solutions, MedeFile does the work of collecting, archiving and maintaining all records on behalf of its members.
"It is our belief that only MedeFile can succeed in helping to standardize electronic medical records management in this country, because it is the most comprehensive, robust patient-centric platform in existence. Through national awareness initiatives, such as this television ad campaign, we intend to bring MedeFile to the forefront of the industry and gain the level of momentum necessary to affect meaningful, positive change in the delivery of quality health care for all Americans," added Hauser.
About MedeFile International, Inc.
Headquartered in New Jersey with offices in Southern California and South Florida, MedeFile has developed a proprietary system for gathering and digitizing medical records so that individuals can have access to a comprehensive set of their medical records. MedeFile's primary product is the MedeFile system, a highly secure system for gathering and maintaining medical records. The MedeFile system is designed to gather all of its members' actual medical records and create a single resource that is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Representing an advanced, yet easy-to-use, approach to portable, electronic medical records management, MedeFile combines state-of-the-art technology and the Internet to make medical data instantly accessible to each MedeFile subscriber and his or her authorized healthcare providers from anywhere in the world. In addition to accessing one's medical records through MedeFile's secure Internet portal found at http://www.medefile.com/, members can carry their entire medical history and emergency information wherever they go on a unique device called a MedeDrive - a proprietary USB drive designed to be carried on a keychain. The MedeDrive plugs into any USB port of a Windows- based PC; and because MedeDrive automatically loads its own viewer, users do not require any special programs or software to view data. MedeMobile provides on-the-go subscribers with the ability to enjoy even greater flexibility and access to their personal health information wherever and whenever they need it.

LAS VEGAS, June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- NXTComm08 -- Texas Instruments (TI) today announced that Polycom(R), Inc. has selected TI's field-proven digital signal processing (DSP) technology to power its new SoundPoint IP 670 desktop phone. Designed to meet the needs of business customers, Polycom's SoundPoint IP 670 is an application-enabled desktop SIP phone with a high-performance color display, HD voice technology and Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) connectivity. Jeffrey Rodman, Polycom co-founder and chief technical officer for Polycom's Voice division, explained that, "Polycom continues to grow and improve its IP phone products, constantly pushing innovative applications and capabilities as well as helping business users experience lifelike communication and conduct remote meetings anywhere in the world.
