Bednarz to executive vice president of enterprise sales and operations. In this new role, Bednarz will oversee the activities of all sales and operations functions for the company. Bednarz will continue to be based at the company's Cary, N.C. headquarters and report directly to R.H. Donnelley Chairman and CEO, David C. Swanson. The appointment, which will be effective immediately, follows the decision by Peter J. McDonald, R.H. Donnelley's president and chief operating officer, to retire from the company effective September 1, 2008.

"As a part of the company's succession plan, Peter and I have been transitioning an increasing amount of the operating responsibilities to George over the past two years," said Swanson. "With Peter's decision to retire in September, we will now transition responsibility for sales to George as well."

Bednarz has served as senior vice president of enterprise operations since January of 2008. Prior to assuming this position, Bednarz directed the creation of RHDi, the company's online local search solutions unit. This division is responsible for the company's consumer search site (http://www.dexknows.com/), its Dex(R) Search Marketing business, and Business.com, the leading B2B search engine and ad network. In addition, Bednarz has led customer-facing and operational divisions at R.H. Donnelley since joining the company more than 13 years ago, including corporate strategy, publishing, information technology, customer care, billing, credit and collections.

"George's strategic focus, collaborative management style and deep understanding of all aspects of our business, make him the perfect choice to lead our sales and operations teams into this important next chapter of our company's transformation," said Swanson.

Prior to joining R.H. Donnelley, Bednarz worked with The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, where he held executive positions of increasing responsibility from 1976 to 1995 in telephone call center operations, marketing database management, customer service, information technology and strategic planning. Bednarz holds an M.B.A. from Duke University and a B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University.

McDonald, a 35-year Yellow Pages industry veteran and former Donnelley board member, rejoined the R.H. Donnelley management team in September 2002 when Swanson appointed him to lead the newly acquired Sprint Yellow Page business.

"I couldn't have asked for a better business partner than Peter to help build R.H. Donnelley into the company it is today. On behalf of the entire organization I would like to thank Peter for his dedication and commitment and wish him all the best going forward," Swanson added.

"I retire feeling extremely fortunate to have spent 35 years in an industry that I have loved. It has been fun, challenging, rewarding and very fulfilling," said McDonald. "I leave with the comfort that RHD is very well positioned for the future and I want to thank Dave, the Board, and the many people that I've worked with for all of their efforts and support."

Verizon Wireless Network in Peak Summer ShapeReliability measures taken year-round to stand up to Southwest heat

CHANDLER, Ariz., June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Water. Check. Air-conditioning. Check. Sunscreen. Check. The nation's most reliable wireless voice and data network. Check!

Today marks the first official day of summer and the Verizon Wireless network in the Southwest is primed and ready for all that the season brings.

"Verizon Wireless is committed to providing reliable wireless communication for our customers throughout the hot summer months and during seasonal emergencies," said Greg Carek, Southwest Region executive director-Network, Verizon Wireless.

"Our year-round focus on improving and maintaining our network ensures that we are prepared to operate when our customers need it most."

    Reliability during extreme weather emergencies

The Verizon Wireless network is built for reliability in emergencies -- such as power blackouts, monsoon storms and extreme weather conditions -- with redundancy capabilities in place to maintain services for customers.

All facilities have battery back-up power and for additional reliability, generators installed at all switching facilities, and many cell site locations. The company also owns a fleet of portable generators that can be deployed to provide emergency power during extended power outages to those cell sites without permanent generators.

    Wildfire preparation and response

Verizon Wireless is positioned for rapid response in the event of a natural disaster or other unplanned event that calls for additional wireless network coverage and capacity.

The company operates a fleet of locally based "Cell on Light Trucks" (COLTs) and "Cell on Wheels" (COWs). These COLTs and COWs are fully functional, generator-powered mobile cell sites that enhance wireless coverage so that emergency response teams and other Verizon Wireless customers can make more calls.

In the past year, Verizon Wireless has deployed mobile cell sites and other equipment to more than a dozen wildfire incidents around the country. Already this year in the Southwest, the Verizon Wireless Network team has responded to the Pepper and Trigo wildfires in New Mexico.

    Ongoing network investment

Last year, Verizon Wireless invested a combined $225 million in its Southwest Region network that serves customers in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and El Paso, Texas. Verizon Wireless outspent all major carriers in network investment in 2007 -- by $1 billion or more. Nationwide, the company has invested nearly $45 billion since it was formed -- $5.5 billion on average every year -- to increase the coverage and capacity of its national wireless network.

    About Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless operates the nation's most reliable wireless voice and data network, serving 67.2 million customers. Valeo pursued the rationalization of its product portfolio, divesting its wiring harness activity and acquiring the Irish company Connaught Electronics, a specialist in image processing. The coming months will continue to be marked by very high raw material prices and a tough automotive market. Against this backdrop, Valeo confirms its objective for an improvement of its results in 2008.

Thierry Morin reminded the AGM that, in a context of stricter regulations on CO2 emissions and high oil prices, Valeo's innovative solutions for significantly reducing fuel consumption are increasingly attractive to automakers and motorists.

    Dividend

The AGM approved the payment of a dividend of EUR1.20 per share, an increase of 9% versus the previous year. The profit pay-out from continued operations comes to 66%. The dividend is expected to be paid on July 1, 2008.

Warsaw Police Deploy Federal Signal's PIPS System

    UNIVERSITY PARK, Illinois, June 20 /PRNewswire/ --

    - Advanced ANPR/ALPR technology continues to enable public safety and security around the world

Federal Signal Corporation's Safety and Security Systems Group, a leader in advancing security and well-being, today announced that the Warsaw Police have adopted Federal Signal's PIPS automated number/license plate recognition (ANPR/ALPR) technology to better enable timely and efficient traffic enforcement along strategic roadways into Warsaw, Poland. Through this collaborative effort between PHU Telsat, local network providers and PIPS Technology, more than 20 PIPS Spike ANPR/ALPR camera systems have been deployed to monitor roadways for vehicles of interest in Warsaw.

As vehicles pass by the VCOP system, information on the vehicle's number plate is sent to a central database at Warsaw Police Headquarters. The vehicle information is compared against a database of wanted vehicles and, in the event of a match, a police officer is notified in real-time to take appropriate action.

    UNIVERSITY PARK, Illinois, June 20 /PRNewswire/ --

In operation in Warsaw for more than seven months, the effectiveness of the Spike system has resulted in plans to expand the system to include additional cameras. Speaking to the system's versatility and powerful ability to serve as a force multiplier, Grzegorz Kawka of PHU Telsat states, "The system is part of a 'joined up' approach where license plate information can be sent to the police officers through the Tetra or GSM telecommunication network to phone or PDA, empowering them to respond immediately." The robust and reliable nature of the Spike system has received numerous awards for innovation and secured its place in some of the largest ANPR/ALPR projects in the world within mission critical public safety, highway, university, airport and seaport projects.

"For more than 100 years, Federal Signal has been a public safety system innovator in communities around the world, and our commitment to provide advanced technology solutions to help today's first responders take control of mission-critical assets and events remains robust," said Michael K. Wons, vice president and general manager of Federal Signal's Public Safety Systems Division. "ANPR and digital video, computer-aided dispatch and records management, and interoperable communications are just a few of the leading edge technologies that help us achieve that vision. We are pleased to partner with PHU Telsat to help the Warsaw Police deploy our PIPS intelligent transportation solution to help protect people, property and the environment in Warsaw."

Onondaga County Residents to Benefit from Verizon Wireless Network ExpansionInvesting to Stay Ahead of Growing Demand for Wireless Calling, Data Access, and Music

SYRACUSE, N.Y., June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- In a continuing effort to provide the best wireless service for local residents in Onondaga County, Verizon Wireless has expanded its network with new cell sites in Syracuse and LaFayette.

-- The new Syracuse site improves coverage and capacity at Hancock Airport.

-- The new site in LaFayette improves coverage and capacity along Route 20 between Route 81 and Route 91, and north and south on County Road 1.

This network expansion is part of the company's aggressive multi-billion dollar network investment each year to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless voice and data services. The company has invested more than $45 billion since it was formed - on average, $5.5 billion every year -- to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services.

Services include wireless data services such as picture messaging, text messaging, V CAST and V CAST Music, ESPN MVP and BroadbandAccess, the company's high-speed wireless broadband network geared toward mobile professionals and business customers. It provides average download speeds of 600 kilobits per second (kbps) to 1.4 megabits per second (mbps), and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps.

Strong demand for Verizon Wireless services continued during the first quarter of 2008 as the company added 1.5 million new customers. Verizon Wireless, the wireless company with the highest customer loyalty, reported the lowest customer turnover (highest customer loyalty) rate in the industry -- 1.2% in the first quarter -- for the 14th consecutive quarter.

The company's 'nation's most reliable wireless network' reputation is based on network studies performed by real-life test men and test women throughout the country who inspired the "Can you hear me now" national advertising campaign. These engineers drive nearly 100 specially equipped vehicles over 240,000 miles on average each quarter on Interstate, US and state highways, as well as major roads and surface streets. Test vehicles are equipped with computers that automatically make more than 750,000 voice call attempts and more than four million data tests annually on Verizon Wireless' network and the networks of other carriers.

Last year, Verizon Wireless introduced its 30-day Test Drive, an industry first that lets customers experience its network virtually risk-free for 30 days. If customers are not satisfied with their experience and take their number to another carrier, Verizon Wireless will refund their money for calls, equipment, activation fee and taxes. ATK Propulsion and Composite Technologies Key to Successful Delta II LaunchATK Supports Ocean Surface Topography Mission on Jason-2 Satellite

MINNEAPOLIS, June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Techsystems played a key role in the successful launch of United Launch Alliance's Delta II rocket today from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.

ATK manufactured the three GEM-40 solid propulsion strap-on boosters that ignited with the Delta II first-stage main engine at liftoff. The boosters provided 408,000 pounds of maximum thrust helping carry the Ocean Surface Topography Mission (OSTM) on the Jason-2 satellite to its required orbit.

The OSTM/Jason-2 mission is supported by NASA and its international partners. Jason-2 is the follow-on to the TOPEX/Poseidon and Jason-1 satellites that are instrumental in increasing understanding of ocean circulation, improving climate forecasts and measuring global sea-level change.

ATK manufactured the GEM-40 motors at its facility in Magna, Utah, continuing a tradition of flight support for Delta II missions that began in 1990. The composite cases for the GEM-40 boosters were produced at ATK's Clearfield, Utah, facility and are made of graphite epoxy material (GEM). The lightweight, filament wound cases are one-fifth the weight of steel.

At its facility in San Diego, California, ATK designed, manufactured, and environmentally tested the Reflector Structure Assembly (RSA) of the Advanced Microwave Radiometer instrument that is part of NASA's OSTM/Jason 2 mission. The RSA includes a lightweight, very high accuracy one meter diameter composite reflector integrated with a composite pallet and struts providing a three point interface to the spacecraft structure. This effort was performed under a contract with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory of Pasadena, California, which manages the OSTM/Jason 2 mission for NASA.

ATK is a premier aerospace and defense company with more than 17,000 employees in 21 states and $4.5 billion in revenue. News and information can be found on the Internet at http://www.atk.com/.

High Gas Prices Drive U.S. Consumers to Find Deals on the Internet, According to comScoreThe Gasbuddy Organization, Inc. recorded a record high of 2.5 million U.S. unique visitors in May 2008 according to comScore Media Metrix

RESTON, Va., June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- comScore, Inc. , a leader in measuring the digital world, today announced that the Gasbuddy Organization, the largest web property that publishes the location of the cheapest gas prices available within local areas, recorded a record high of 2.5 million unique visitors in May 2008. Both the number of people visiting gas price resource sites and the number of people conducting Internet searches on the term "gas prices" shows a strong correlation with the price of gasoline in the U.S.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080115/COMSCORELOGO)

Average U.S. gas prices have steadily increased in recent months, reaching a record high of $4.09 per gallon in the week of June 9, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. This has been mirrored by substantial gains in Web traffic to the GasBuddy Organization (as shown in the chart available at http://www.comscore.com/blog/gasbuddy.png).

Not surprisingly, the top-performing search terms in generating traffic to GasBuddy in April 2008 were phrases that included the words "gas prices," according to comScore Marketer, a new search marketing intelligence tool. In total, nearly 1 million people conducted 1.73 million searches for phrases including "gas prices" during the month, representing an increase of 175 percent versus year ago.

When average gas prices increased 10 percent from October to November -- the largest monthly increase by percentage in the last year -- many consumers used search engines to find deals on gasoline. GasBuddy was the primary beneficiary of these searches, with 37 percent of the all searches for "gas prices" resulting in a click-thru to a GasBuddy site, driving 640,000 visits to the property during the month.

The analysis of the correlation between average U.S. gas prices and the number of searches on "gas prices" can be found on the comScore Voices blog at: http://www.comscore.com/blog/gas_prices_searches.png.

Wales, Massachusetts Residents to Benefit from Verizon Wireless Network ExpansionInvesting to Stay Ahead of Growing Demand for Wireless Voice, Multimedia and Internet Access

WALES, Mass., June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- In a continuing effort to provide the best wireless service for local residents in Hampden County, Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site. The new site increases wireless voice and data coverage and capacity along Stafford Road in Wales, Massachusetts, as well as the surrounding area.

Verizon Wireless has invested more than $45 billion since it was formed to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services like BroadbandAccess and V CAST. Regionally the company has invested nearly $2.2 billion into its New England network, including over $292 million in 2007 alone. As a result of these investments, every Verizon Wireless cell site in New England offers wireless broadband connectivity.

BroadbandAccess offers computer users the nation's most reliable high-speed wireless mobile broadband network, operating at average upload speeds between 500 and 800 kbps, and download speeds between 600 kbps and 1.4 mbps over Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess with EV-DO Revision A network. V CAST brings video clips of TV shows, music on demand and other multimedia services to wireless phones.

Strong demand for Verizon Wireless services continued during the first quarter of 2008 as the company added 1.5 million net new customers and, for the fourteenth consecutive quarter, reported the lowest customer turnover (highest customer loyalty) rate in the wireless industry.

The company's 'nation's most reliable wireless network' reputation is based on network studies performed by real-life test men and test women throughout the country who inspired the "can you hear me now" national advertising campaign. China's automobile electronics market is growing quickly due to the rapid development of the automobile industry and automobile products upgrading. The sales revenue of the automobile electronics market reached 121.57 billion Yuan, up more than 40% over 2006.

Figure 1. Size and Growth of China's Auto Electronics Market, 2003-2007 http://www.ccidconsulting.com/upload/13267.jpg Source: CCID Consulting, Jan. 2008 The characteristics of China's automobile electronics market 1. Popularization of Existing Products Being the Main Driving Force

More than a half of domestic cars, SUVs, MPVs have installed gearboxes, and more than 90% of cars are equipped with safety airbags. In addition, demands on vehicle body and vehicular electronics keep increasing. Popularization of such automobile electronics is the main driving force behind rapid market growth.

    2. Proportion of Automobile Electronics in Total Cost Increasing

The electronics equipping proportion of domestic middle-end cars has approached advanced international levels. For example, JAC is releasing a car with a price of 120 thousand Yuan, which is equipped with almost all automobile electronics.

    3. Popularization of Automobile Electronics Benefiting from Mature Products and Technologies

Popularization of automobile electronics depends on market demand. Hence, popularization of automobile electronics is benefiting from mature products and technologies.

In the application structure, power control and chassis control & safety systems are the main automobile electronics, taking a share of 31.7% and 27.0%, respectively. Besides, the market share of onboard electronics has increased due to the popularization of audio products and portable GPS products.

In products structure, EMS still takes the largest market share, although it has been decreasing in recent years. The market share of ABS and safety airbag products and audio products has also decreased slightly. The market share of the rest of automobile electronics has kept increasing, taking a market share of nearly 20%.

Domestic Automobile Electronics Industry Rising, and Supply and Demand Tending to be Balanced

China's automobile electronics industry has shown following features in recent years:

    1. Industry transfer synchronizes with development of the domestic automobile industry, and the share of domestic automobile electronics keeps increasing. Abroad automobile brands begin to adjust the supply chain of automobile parts, components, and electronics to meet the request of localization. Besides, automobile manufacturers need more local providers to reduce costs due to a more competitive market. The share of domestic automobile electronics in domestic automobiles keeps increasing, especially for brands such as Volkswagen, GE, Toyota, Honda, and other brands that enter China's market earlier.

    2. Some automobile electronics tend to be export oriented. China's automobile electronics industry started relatively late. However, some automobile electronics, such as audios, air conditioning, car security, portable GPS, and other products with lower technology levels develop rapidly, along with the development of the domestic automobile manufacturers. The sales revenue of car audios, GPS, and securities reached 12 million, 8 million, and 11 million, respectively. It is possible China will be one of the main automobile electronics production bases in the near future.

Morris County Resident Named Verizon Wireless HopeLine(R) ScholarRutgers University's Center on Violence Against Women & Children Awards First HopeLine Scholarships to Graduate Students Assisting Victims of Domestic Violence

MORRISTOWN, N.J., June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Pompton Plains resident Kristin Dunne recently completed studies at Rutgers University School of Social Work where she was named one of three 2008 Verizon Wireless HopeLine(R) Scholars.

Funded by a $100,000 Verizon Wireless grant, the Verizon Wireless HopeLine Scholarship Fund was created in conjunction with the Center on Violence Against Women & Children, to recognize outstanding Rutgers University graduate students enrolled in the Master of Social Work (MSW) specialization on violence against women and children, the first such program in the country. Income generated by the endowment will be used to award scholarships, annually, to at least three students.

Dunne received the award for her research on "Why groups are a good intervention for abused women" and her field experience providing individual and group counseling to children and families at Jersey Battered Women's Service Community Counseling program. She joined fellow scholarship recipients and Rutgers School of Social Work leaders last month at the Verizon Wireless HopeLine Scholars Colloquium in New Brunswick to present the results of her semester-long research.

Rutgers School of Social Work is one of the largest social work programs in the country. This groundbreaking scholarship on violence against women and children will help prepare future social work professionals to work as executives or advocates in domestic violence and sexual assault organizations nationwide.

"We are thrilled that Kristin is one of our first ever MSW students to receive this scholarship," said Judy Postmus, director of the Center on Violence against Women & Children at Rutgers School of Social Work. "She will set the standard for other students to learn about and work with survivors of physical and sexual violence."

The Verizon Wireless donation was made possible through the company's HopeLine phone recycling program, which collects no-longer-used wireless phones at its Communications Stores throughout New Jersey and nationwide. The phones are refurbished, recycled or sold and the proceeds are used to provide wireless phones and cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness. Phones that cannot be refurbished are disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.

Verizon Wireless was the first wireless carrier in the nation to collect and recycle old cell phones and has done so since January 1999, first in New Jersey and then across the U.S. Nationally, the HopeLine program has collected more than 4.5 million wireless phones and given nearly $5 million in cash grants to domestic violence prevention organizations.

In addition to a successful phone recycling program and funding for non-profit domestic violence prevention organizations, HopeLine includes free wireless service and voice mailboxes for survivors, community and corporate awareness initiatives, and a bilingual "Invest in Yourself" program designed to help survivors re-enter the workforce.

HopeLine phone donations also are accepted at all Verizon Wireless Communications Stores in New Jersey and across the nation. For store locations and additional information, visit http://www.verizonwireless.com/hopeline.
