PSI Corp. Reviews Its Recent Progress
New Knowledge-Based Authentication Offering from RSA, The Security Division of EMC, Designed to Deliver Stronger Security and Convenience to CustomersRSA(R)'s New Release of Its Knowledge-based Authentication Service Provides More Accurate Verification and Stronger Assurance for Companies Working to Comply with FACTA Red Flags Guidelines
BEDFORD, Mass., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- RSA, The Security Division of EMC , today announced the latest release of its RSA Identity Verification(TM) knowledge-based authentication system -- a system that has previously been successfully used by companies to reduce costs and to improve security and customer satisfaction.
RSA's knowledge-based authentication (KBA) solution is designed to instantly verify customers' identities and to provide organizations with a higher level of confidence, while simultaneously reducing the risk of fraud associated with handling critical customer information.
Customer Success
One organization that has successfully leveraged RSA's solution is BNY Mellon Shareowner Services ("Shareowner Services"), an industry leading provider of stock transfer and related services that operates as part of The Bank of New York Mellon. Shareowner Services was seeking an identity assurance solution that would offer its customers the convenience of real-time authentication, while managing the risk associated with this type of information and still ensuring the security and privacy of shareowner data. The RSA Identity Verification solution helped Shareowner Services to achieve this goal, and also to improve its customer satisfaction levels and reduce call center operating costs.
"RSA's KBA solution provides real-time confirmation of customer identities, enabling companies like ours to tailor the authentication layers to satisfy business and security needs, while also protecting customers' privacy and providing a positive customer experience, with real-time secure access to our self-service Web sites," said Marc Librizzi, CIO of BNY Mellon Shareowner Services. "After implementing the RSA Identity Verification solution, we also experienced a secondary benefit, which was a significant reduction in our Call Center volume that translated to cost savings."
The RSA Identity Verification solution is supported by a highly-intelligent questioning technology that incorporates actual non-financial customer data in order to authenticate the customer in real-time, while simultaneously protecting the customer and enhancing the overall user experience. The ability to provide instantaneous matching -- coupled with the fact that the answers to the questions are not easily found through searching the Internet -- greatly reduces the possibility of online fraud through identity theft. Additionally, because data maintenance is not required, organizations are able to manage costs while still ensuring customers have an additional layer of security.
New Release of RSA Identity Verification
RSA, The Security Division of EMC is also today announcing the latest release of the RSA Identity Verification knowledge-based authentication service. The new version contains several enhancements that provide improved security and a more accurate verification. These new features include:
-- New Question Engine -- Additional intelligence has been added to the question engine, enabling the improved use of customer data to provide more top-of-mind questions for customers that are also statistically more difficult to beat for fraudsters.
-- Improved Identity Event(TM) Module -- RSA has extended the service's capability to proactively monitor suspicious activity in order to better anticipate the fraudulent use of identity information. The improved Identity Event module enables adaptive system behavior that allows for both the use of questions types and question configurations to be dynamically altered -- further improving verification in real-time.
-- Current Address Verification -- RSA has extended the service's capacity to ensure data quality by evaluating if the submitted postal address is a current or recent address for the customer.
-- New Question Type -- RSA has enhanced the diversity of information that is utilized in the service -- and the accuracy of the authentication -- with a new question type based on the year that an individual lived in a particular city.
-- Improved Reports -- RSA has allowed service customers to choose from additional reports, allowing for ongoing configuration enhancements and improved return-on-investment.
"Traditionally identity verification systems ask questions which users have self-selected," said Chris Young, Vice President and General Manager, Identity Access & Assurance Group at RSA, The Security Division of EMC. "The RSA Identity Verification system, on the other hand, has built a new question generation engine that employs sophisticated business rules and algorithms which require no prior selection on the part of the consumer for a secure and accurate authentication."
RSA's KBA system is effective for account originations, credit card activations, service transactions, password resets and a number of other scenarios -- and it is designed to work across all user touch-points: call center, online, or in-person. The transaction-based architecture means customers do not need to purchase additional software or hardware and deployment is easily configured to meet business and security requirements.
FACTA Red Flags Guidelines
The FACTA Identity Theft Red Flags guidelines require U.S. financial institutions and creditors to develop and implement a written identity theft prevention program that mitigates the risk of identity theft for both new and existing accounts in an array of industries, including financial services, utilities, health care, and telecommunications. The new enhancements in RSA's Identity Verification service are designed to provide stronger assurance for financial institutions and creditors working to comply with FACTA's Identity Theft Red Flags guidelines.
Specifically, RSA's new KBA system is engineered to provide improved accuracy in authenticating users by measuring the level of risk associated with an identity, basing much of its strength on precisely the type of information the regulation calls out as valuable - by going beyond the information typically found in an individual's wallet or consumer report. RSA Identity Verification is configurable to automatically adjust questions during the authentication process to meet the specific nature of the risk associated with an identity.

ExploreLearning Gizmos Featured in Best-Selling Educational Technology Books from ASCD and NSTA Presses
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- ExploreLearning, a business unit of Voyager Learning Company , announced today that its award-winning online simulation library has been highlighted in two recent best-selling books on instructional best practices, Using Technology with Classroom Instruction That Works, by Howard Pitler et al (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning, 2007), and Technology in the Secondary Science Classroom, edited by Randy Bell et al (National Science Teachers Association, 2007).
Using Technology with Classroom Instruction That Works builds on Robert Marzano's landmark book Classroom Instruction That Works by linking his nine categories of effective instructional strategies with educational technology applications and resources. According to Howard Pitler, Ed.D., Senior Director for Curriculum and Instruction at Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL) and lead author, "ExploreLearning's Gizmos are an effective and engaging way to move students to inquiry science and math. We show examples in the book of a number of the nine categories of effective instructional strategies that are truly enhanced by this excellent resource. This is especially true when looking at nonlinguistic representation and generating and testing hypothesis. We also see Gizmos as a good way to move students to higher level thinking skills."
Technology in the Secondary Science Classroom describes effective uses of technology in today's science classrooms that facilitate data collection and analysis, enhance scientific understanding through imagery and visualization, and extend inquiry through communication and collaboration. Randy Bell, Associate Professor in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia and co-editor of Technology in the Secondary Science Classroom notes, "We included ExploreLearning Gizmos as examples because they embody what research points to as characteristics of effective simulations. Gizmos are content focused, they encourage inquiry instruction and they actively engage students in learning. These features are very well aligned with the findings of more than two decades of research on the effective uses of computer simulations in science instruction."
"We are very pleased and gratified that Gizmos have been included in these two important books from ASCD and NSTA," says ExploreLearning Founder, David Shuster, Ph.D. "We have learned a great deal from the authors over the years and look forward to continuing to follow their work as we advance our mission of developing products that promote research-proven practice in math and science classrooms."

CHICAGO, June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Allscripts, the leading provider of clinical software and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, announced today that it will offer qualified medical staff members of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, Calif. preferred pricing on the company's Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) solutions.
(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20061005/ALLSCRIPTSLOGO-b)
Hoag Hospital, in its commitment to enable excellent quality care and services, is leveraging the recent Stark and Anti-kickback reforms to assist Orange County physicians in the adoption of Electronic Health Records in their private practices. Hoag believes it is important to promote open, interconnected, interoperable Electronic Health Record applications that help improve the quality of patient care and efficiency in the delivery of health care to patients. To facilitate this, Hoag has signed an agreement with Allscripts to subsidize its EHR-PM solutions for independent members of its medical staff, a major step in the hospital's community-wide initiative to electronically link hospital services, physicians and other healthcare providers to offer truly integrated patient care.
"The leading hospitals across the country are increasingly coming to the conclusion that connectivity with the physicians who practice in their communities and refer the bulk of their patients is critical to delivering higher quality patient care and also to a strong business model," said Allscripts Chief Executive Officer Glen Tullman. "The cornerstone of the community model is immediate access to patient information, anytime and anywhere, and we are proud that Hoag Hospital, a national leader in quality patient care, has selected Allscripts to help deliver on that vision."
Allscripts Electronic Health Record and Practice Management for small and medium-sized physician practices are easy-to-deploy, physician-centric solutions that improve the delivery of safe, cost-effective, high-quality care by automating common tasks such as prescribing and refilling medications, ordering and viewing tests, and documenting care. Allscripts combines the power of an integrated Electronic Health Record and Practice Management solution to provide one full-circle, seamless patient information management source. Built on a single intelligent platform, the Allscripts solution will link business and clinical operations of each practice, and provide caregivers instant and secure access to the complete patient record.
Hoag staff physicians who select Allscripts will access the Electronic Health Record and Practice Management solutions over the Internet via Application Service Provider (ASP) hosting and support. The ASP model provides a simple, affordable means of delivering vital patient information to caregivers without the upfront costs of purchasing new equipment to host the solution themselves. Because the ASP model also speeds deployment, it is becoming an increasingly important option for mid-size and independent practices.
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is a 498-bed, not-for-profit, acute care hospital with more than 1,000 physicians on staff. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission and designated as a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Hoag offers a comprehensive mix of health care services, including Centers of Excellence in cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedics and women's health services. "We were seeking an integrated approach to achieving exceptional customer satisfaction, our number one priority. InQuira provided the only solution that was capable of capturing and distributing all of our simulation solutions knowledge with the integrated end-user collaboration required to satisfy the needs of our tech-savvy customers," said Jeffrey Graff, Director of Global Technical Support, MSC.Software. "InQuira's out-of-the-box ability to provide superior agent-directed KM, Web self-service, content management and analytics offers us a significant competitive advantage, and the fact that it easily integrates with the rest of our infrastructure means we can continue to focus on delivering the best possible technical solutions to our customer."
"Quality online and call center customer service is a top priority for companies with a technically complex product offering, as the user base has more complicated support needs and higher expectations for online self-service," said Mike Murphy, CEO of InQuira. "MSC.Software's recognition that their user communities can be a valuable source for harvesting new knowledge base content puts them ahead of the curve, and we look forward to helping them leverage their communities and employees to resolve customer support issues."

District of Columbia Primary Care Association Selects Microsoft Amalga to Improve Patient Care for the UnderservedOrganizations are turning to Amalga to connect hospitals and community health centers.
REDMOND, Wash., June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- To improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivered to medically underserved D.C. residents, the District of Columbia Primary Care Association (DCPCA) will use Microsoft Amalga, the unified intelligence system, to enable the sharing of data among local hospitals and six community-based health centers that are part of a newly formed District of Columbia Regional Health Information Organization (D.C. RHIO).
(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20000822/MSFTLOGO)
DCPCA joins the Wisconsin Health Information Exchange (WHIE) as the second organization to select Microsoft Amalga to allow the security-enhanced exchange of information between hospital systems and community health centers for optimal patient care.
"The sharing of medical information among D.C. health centers and local hospitals is uncommon," said Sharon Baskerville, CEO of DCPCA. "Using Amalga to aggregate and share clinical data, we will break down the barriers, enabling these providers to improve clinical decision-making, minimize redundant work, reduce costs, and most important, provide higher-quality care to the neediest in our communities. We expect to create a sustainable business model in the RHIO marketplace."
Announced by DCPCA in May, the D.C. RHIO will connect six health centers -- representing 21 locations -- and two hospitals, Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center, with the purpose of improving both the quality and accessibility of healthcare for vulnerable members of society. The six health centers are Bread for the City, Family and Medical Counseling Service, La Clinica del Pueblo, Mary's Center for Maternal and Child Care, So Others Might Eat (SOME), and the Whitman-Walker Clinic.
Implementing Amalga will give physicians at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center real-time viewing of up-to-date patient information stored in systems of the RHIO-affiliated health centers. This capability will allow DCPCA to help achieve its overall goals for the RHIO, including improving chronic disease management, quality monitoring and research ability; minimizing duplicative work (e.g., lab tests); reducing costs; evaluating critical health indicators on an ongoing basis; and giving patients security-enhanced online access to their health information.
"I congratulate Microsoft on its participation in the D.C. RHIO," said Dr. Garth Graham, deputy assistant secretary for Minority Health, Department of Health and Human Services. "Information technology in healthcare has the ability to transform our current health segments into a true healthcare system that serves the needs of all consumers and brings timely information to appropriate providers caring for consumers as patients. During this time, when we are just beginning to develop the interoperable networks, it is crucial that today's medically underserved communities are included in these efforts."
WHIE also has implemented Microsoft Amalga to accomplish its vision of "improving the quality, safety, efficiency, and accessibility of healthcare and public health." WHIE's Emergency Department (ED) Linking Project is a pilot project that has 11 Milwaukee metropolitan hospitals providing data to the exchange with clinicians in the first three emergency departments now reviewing data from the exchange on all patients as part of day-to-day clinical practice.
"With WHIE, ED clinicians have a perspective of their patients' history previously unknown to them," said Kim R. Pemble, executive director for WHIE.
Tools in WHIE, such as Clinician Communication Messages, enable communication among clinicians and set the stage for community-level, patient-centric care plans.
"Very early feedback from ED case managers already reflects significant value of WHIE in connecting patients with ongoing care services," Pemble said. "The addition of Medicaid claims information, planned for July 2008, will provide pharmacy information and other data to further enhance the value to clinicians."
Microsoft Amalga addresses a common and critical challenge of healthcare providers -- integrating vast amounts of clinical, administrative, and financial information that flow in and out of disparate information systems, and tailoring that information for use by physicians, analysts, laboratory technicians, nurses and administrators. Amalga takes advantage of the hospital's investment in health information technology solutions and makes it possible for the whole health system to gain quick access to data and turn information into critical knowledge that facilitates better decision-making and improved patient outcomes.
Founded in 1975, Microsoft is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential.

About Synthesis Energy Systems, Inc.
SES is an energy and technology company that builds, owns and operates coal gasification plants that utilize its proprietary U-GAS(R) fluidized bed gasification technology to convert low rank coal and coal wastes into higher value energy products, such as transportation fuel and ammonia. The U-GAS(R) technology, which SES licenses from the Gas Technology Institute, gasifies coal without many of the harmful emissions normally associated with coal combustion plants. The primary advantages of U-GAS(R) relative to other gasification technologies are (a) greater fuel flexibility provided by our ability to use all ranks of coal (including low rank, high ash and high moisture coals, which are significantly cheaper than higher grade coals), many coal waste products and biomass feed stocks; and (b) our ability to operate efficiently on a smaller scale, which enables us to construct plants more quickly, at a lower capital cost, and, in many cases, in closer proximity to coal sources. SES currently has offices in Houston, Texas and Shanghai, China. For more information on SES, visit http://www.synthesisenergy.com/ or call (713) 579-0600.

Lexmark to showcase how wireless printing can 'cut the discord' at Digital Experience! New York
LEXINGTON, Ky., June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Whether it's elementary students, teenagers or college kids returning from school, today's kids have made technology an integral part of their everyday lives. But sometimes sharing devices can become a major point of contention, especially when everyone is home during the summer. However, Lexmark International, Inc. thinks there's one innovation that can quiet at least some of the rivalry at home - wireless technology.
In years past, computing in the home was often restricted to one room, which forced siblings and parents alike to wait their turn for computer time. Today, as families add a second computer, they find themselves waiting in line to plug into the printer, copying files back and forth with a USB Flash Drive, or worse, tripping over a jungle of wires. But now, with the rapid adoption of wireless networks, there's a new opportunity to "cut the discord" and bring peace and tranquility to the home. Now, family members can settle in separate corners with laptops to chat with friends, surf the Net, listen to music, and of course, share a printer.
Lexmark will showcase its latest innovations in wireless inkjet printing at Digital Experience! at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City on Wednesday, June 25. The company offers the following tips for using wireless technology to make this summer a little more peaceful on the homefront:
- Set up a wireless network. All you need is a broadband Internet connection and a wireless router to set up your home network. Wireless routers offer easy-to-install instructions and serve as the hub of your wireless network.
- Connect your family's computers and laptops to the wireless network. Most laptops today come with built-in wireless technology that will easily locate your wireless network once it's set up. If you have an older computer, a wireless adapter will help connect you to your new network. Once you've connected all of the computers to the wireless network, you'll be able to enjoy the freedom of Wi-Fi connectivity from anywhere in your home, anytime.
- Set up shared wireless storage. Today's families snap more photos and download more music than ever before, which also means they need more hard disk space for storing this digital data. When the whole family can access multimedia content, it makes it simpler to share it and easier to keep individual computers' hard drives from overcrowding. This also allows for data backup of all computers on the network. Consider installing a Network Attached Storage (NAS) system, which is available from wireless router manufacturers and computer makers.
- Purchase a wireless printer. Wireless printers(1) such as Lexmark's X4650 All-in-One and X9575 All-in-One can connect with multiple computers through your home wireless network. This means everyone in the family can print directly to one family printer from anywhere in the house. There's no need to buy multiple printers or determine a schedule for sharing the device when your kids or partner need to print a homework assignment, recipe or business document. A wireless printer can handle all incoming print requests from any room in the house, making it incredibly easy to share while saving you time and money.
Lexmark will demonstrate the following wireless all-in-one inkjet printers at Digital Experience! New York:
The Lexmark X9575 Wireless All-in-One: Part of the Professional Series of printers, the X9575 four-in-one wireless printer responds to the demanding needs of small office and home office (SOHO) users and includes high-yield cartridges and lifetime, priority phone support. The Lexmark X9575 Wireless All-in-One is priced at $249.99(2).
The Lexmark X4650 Wireless All-in-One: Part of the Home and Student line of printers, the Lexmark X4650 serves the growing number of mobile laptop users and makes wireless printing easier and more affordable. The Lexmark X4650 offers three-in-one functionality via printing, scanning and easy, one- touch copying with fast and easy installation in as little as 10 minutes. The Lexmark X4650 Wireless All-in-One is priced at $129.99(2).

Lexmark X560n 'picked' for top award from Buyers Lab
LEXINGTON, Ky., June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Recognized in the small workgroup color printer multifunction product (MFP) category, Lexmark International, Inc.'s X560n color laser MFP has earned a Spring 2008 "Pick of the Year" award from Buyers Laboratory Inc. The Lexmark X560n was selected for its ease of use, good feedback to end- user workstations and comprehensive management utilities. "The Lexmark X560n offers very good overall productivity and a very good feature set for a competitive price," said Marlene Orr, BLI senior printer analyst. "It also offers the highest toner yields of competitive products tested, which contributes to further improved productivity and an attractive cost per page."
Pick of the Year awards are presented by BLI semi-annually to the products that perform the best in their respective categories throughout BLI's rigorous laboratory tests. Dot Hill Introduces Support for DC PowerThe Company's NEBS Certified and MIL-STD-810F Compliant Midrange RAID Offering Now Offers DC Power Support for Energy Savings in the Data Center
CARLSBAD, Calif., June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dot Hill Systems Corp. , a market leader in providing flexible storage offerings and responsive service and support to OEMs and system integrators (SIs), today announced general availability of its 5730 Fibre Channel storage arrays with Direct Current (DC) power supplies.
The DC power supply option enables users to leverage DC power for improved energy efficiencies and cost savings in the data center and remote/mobile environments.
"Energy efficiency in the data center is a growing concern for technology vendors and their customers today," said Dave Reinsel, IDC group vice president, storage and semiconductor research. "We are beginning to see a shift in IT focus where energy consumption is becoming a critical component of a viable and sustainable IT strategy. In the past companies have traditionally concentrated on optimizing computer resources and storage operations, but today they are taking a more holistic approach that includes everything from data center designs, to air versus liquid cooling, to DC power."
Reinsel is among the IDC research analysts responsible for a new study, The Real Costs to Power and Cool All the World's External Storage(i), an in- depth analysis of enterprise storage worldwide and the costs to power and cool external storage arrays from 2002 to 2012. Within the study, IDC reveals the total number of spinning disks in datacenters today and estimates the real costs associated with powering and cooling these disks, as well as the commensurate carbon footprint. With an aggregate worldwide electricity cost of $0.07 per kilowatt-hour last year, IDC estimates that the total amount spent on powering and cooling these drives exceeded $1 billion in 2007.
Dot Hill 5730 Continues to Enjoy Broad Market Adoption
Since its introduction late last year, the 5730 has become the ruggedized storage solution of choice for many Dot Hill customers in the military, government and telecommunications sectors. Based on Dot Hill's R/Evolution(TM) architecture, the 5730 is a highly flexible, dynamic storage system that scales to support up to 108 mixed SAS/SATA disk drives, and up to 108 terabytes of capacity leveraging 1 TB SATA disk drives.
Offering a small rack footprint of only 2U for increased floor-tile density, the 5730 with DC power is NEBS (Network Equipment Building System) Level 3 certified and designed to meet the rigorous MIL-STD-810F requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense for land, sea and air deployment.
"Introducing support for DC power was the next logical step in our product road map as Dot Hill continues to evolve and strengthen its offerings and as organizations look to improve data center energy efficiency," said Dana Kammersgard, Dot Hill's president and chief executive officer. "The 5730 with DC power provides the right blend of performance, flexibility and proven ruggedness through its NEBS certification and MIL-STD compliance, providing our OEM customers with the best-in-class RAID solution."
Among the many customers leveraging the 5730 is Tuscaloosa County in Alabama. The county needed a storage solution that offered maximum expandability and high availability - with fast and easy access to a large database of records - as Tuscaloosa archives millions of records including deeds, marriage certificates, legal judgments and incorporation documents. Tuscaloosa partnered with Crabtree Computer Services and Consulting, Inc., based in Birmingham, which recommended the county deploy the 5730 storage solution powered by Dot Hill technology.
"We have been impressed with the performance of the solution overall," said James Tullidge, IT director, Tuscaloosa County. "We found the solution very easy to set up and manage. In particular, we have experienced improved data availability and business continuity via the snapshot technology. This capability creates a point-in-time virtual copy of data that the system can roll back to, in the event of data loss or corruption," he explained. "Additionally, we are leveraging the volume copy capabilities to replicate data to alternate sites for disaster recovery." Tullidge explained that disaster recovery has taken on a whole new level of importance following Hurricane Katrina. The county experienced a significant amount of loss as a result of the disaster, and in past years has been the recipient of federal monies for post-Katrina rebuilding efforts.
The 5730 is a key member of the Dot Hill Unified Architecture methodology, which promotes a consistent user experience in both the entry-level and midrange markets. ANADIGICS Launches Family of Active Splitters Designed for Set-Top Boxes with Multiple TunersSplitter Portfolio Includes New Products Optimized for Equipment With MoCA(R) (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) Functionality
WARREN, N.J., June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ANADIGICS, Inc. today announced the launch of three new active splitters for use in CATV set-top boxes with multiple tuners: the APS3608, APS3611 and APS3623. All three devices incorporate highly linear, low noise amplifiers to drive multiple output paths, each of which provides a very low distortion connection to either an analog video or a digital video tuner.
"The development of three new splitter products clearly demonstrates ANADIGICS' commitment to the subscriber side of the broadband marketplace," remarks Ron Michels, Senior Vice President and General Manager of ANADIGICS' Broadband Business. "These products are integral to RF front-end solutions, including those that support MoCA functionality. MoCA allows consumers to tap into the vast amount of unused bandwidth available through existing in-home coaxial wiring. This extra bandwidth enables the seamless networking of multiple entertainment devices."
ANADIGICS' APS3608 is a three-way active splitter with differential inputs and outputs and integrated gain control. The device provides 5dB typical noise figure at 5.5dB gain, and the three output paths can be controlled individually, with each providing 29dB of gain control range. The APS3608 has a flat gain profile over its 50 to 1100MHz operating frequency band. The device delivers excellent second and third order distortion performance, with CTB/CSO of-70dBc (typ.), and cross modulation (XMOD) of -67 dBc (typ.).
The APS3611 is a two-way active splitter with single-ended inputs and outputs that operates to 870MHz, and has a special frequency/gain profile designed to compensate for in-band attenuation caused by MoCA line filters. It has a low noise figure of 5dB, a fixed gain of 3dB, and a current adjust pin for optimizing distortion performance. The intermodulation distortion performance of the device is similar to the APS3608, with a CTB of -74 dBc, CSO of -67 dBc, and XMOD of -66 dBc.
The highly linear, low noise APS3623 is a three-way active splitter with single-ended inputs and outputs. It is optimized for compatibility with MoCA bands over 1GHz, and supports both analog and digital channel line-ups. With a CTB of -77 dBc and a CSO of -65 dBc, the linearity/distortion performance of the device is best in class. Both the APS3611 and the APS3623 were designed for MoCA-enabled set-top boxes, but also support multiple-tuner TV, TV tuner card and broadband media center applications.
The APS3608 is available now at a price of $3.54 in quantities of 5,000 units. For product specifics, visit: http://www.anadigics.com/products/cable_broadcast/active_splitters/aps3608
The APS3611 is available now at a price of $2.02 in quantities of 5,000 units. For product specifics, visit: http://www.anadigics.com/products/cable_broadcast/active_splitters/aps3611
The APS3623 is available now at a price of $2.29 in quantities of 5,000 units. For product specifics, visit: http://www.anadigics.com/products/cable_broadcast/active_splitters/aps3623

Brocade and NetApp Work Together to Extend and Simplify Data EncryptionTechnology Collaboration Will Empower Customers to Protect All of the Critical Corporate Information within and across Data Centers
SAN JOSE, Calif. and SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Brocade(R) , the leader in data center networking solutions, and NetApp , today announced a collaborative development effort that will enable data center customers to more quickly and easily encrypt corporate data for increased security and compliance. The collaboration will also provide customers with simplified policy management and allow them to protect all data in the data center.
Under terms of the agreement, Brocade and NetApp will integrate the secure, scalable, and centrally managed Lifetime Key Management(TM) solutions from NetApp with Brocade's fabric-based encryption technology. As a result, Brocade will resell the NetApp(R) Lifetime Key Management appliance as part of its fabric-based encryption switches and blades portfolio.
Products and technology that enable advanced data encryption and security are important elements of the Brocade Data Center Fabric (DCF) architecture, an open framework that helps customers enhance their data center infrastructures for maximum security, performance, flexibility, and investment protection.
Brocade is currently developing an innovative, high-performance encryption and compression capability that will leverage the NetApp OpenKey(TM) API, an open interface that allows third-party security applications to integrate with NetApp's secure key management framework. This provides a common tool for easier policy management across encryption technologies. NetApp already has a substantial list of Lifetime Key Management customers, which include some of the industry's largest storage encryption deployments by scale, and expects this to increase dramatically as its new encryption platforms are adopted.
The combined technologies will provide an easy-to-use, high-performance solution for increased protection of critical corporate information. Additionally, the collaboration presents a new approach to encryption of data at rest -- a breakthrough in data protection -- making it feasible to protect all data in the data center.
"With so many approaches to encryption receiving attention today, the complexity of encryption itself can pose a risk. Fabric-based encryption is one approach that can help reduce the complexity of storage encryption," said Scott Crawford, research director, Enterprise Management Associates. "Today, administrators may manage different encryption for tape, appliances, applications, disk, and more. Fabric-based encryption allows for a single, common method of encrypting all types of data. By centralizing encryption, fabric-based approaches can also centralize key management and reduce its complexity."
The new approach will be significantly faster than today's solutions as it will be based on Brocade's 8Gbit/sec DCF architecture. For applications requiring data encryption, the Brocade fabric-based solution will enable applications to perform at full wire speed, and protect significantly more data in less time without compromising application or user performance. Additionally, the heterogeneous nature of Brocade fabric-based encryption allows customers to support multiple data backup and data storage solutions concurrently.
"As the cost and risk of exposing sensitive information continue to rise, organizations must broaden their data encryption capabilities across their data centers," said Ian Whiting, vice president and general manager of the Brocade Data Center Infrastructure Division. "Brocade recognizes that scalable, tightly integrated key management is an essential component of a solid enterprise-class data encryption solution. That's why we are partnering with industry leaders in storage security, such as NetApp."
"NetApp is committed to multiplatform options for data encryption and to simplifying the management infrastructure for keys," said Tim Russell, vice president and general manager of Storage Security Solutions at NetApp. "We have taken a leadership role to move the industry toward standards and interoperability. We feel that extending our work with Brocade is pivotal and demonstrates our commitment to our relationship with Brocade."

Spansion Helps to Reduce Energy Consumption in Internet Data Center Servers by up to 75 Percent and Expand Memory CapacityNew Spansion(R) EcoRAM(TM) memory to help solve the burgeoning data center energy crisis
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spansion Inc. , the world's largest pure-play provider of Flash memory solutions, today unveiled plans for a new class of memory, called Spansion(R) EcoRAM(TM), designed to solve the growing energy consumption crisis in Internet data centers by replacing power-hungry DRAM in data center servers. When combined with Virident Systems, Inc.'s new GreenGateway technology announced today, Spansion EcoRAM can help slash energy consumption by up to 75 percent in Internet data center servers, and offer four times the memory capacity of traditional DRAM-only servers for the same energy consumption.
(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20060118/SFW077LOGO)
The Data Center Energy Crisis
According to recent reports from Dr. Jonathan Koomey, an expert in energy efficiency and a Consulting Professor at Stanford University, data centers are an important and rapidly growing consumer of electricity. Between 2000 and 2005, data center energy consumption doubled, from a total of 71 billion kilowatt hours per year (kWh/yr) to over 150 billion kWh/yr, with the U.S. and Europe responsible for about two-thirds of the total. If current trends persist, data center electricity use will continue to grow at a rapid pace, with Asia's growth outpacing the rest of the world.
"With Spansion EcoRAM and Virident's GreenGateway, we have the potential to cut the world's energy consumption in Internet data center servers by up to 75 percent and reduce the total cost of ownership for Internet companies," said Bertrand Cambou, Spansion president and CEO. "The application of MirrorBit technology to the Internet Server market is a critical milestone in our move to extend the applicability of this technology beyond the traditional NOR Flash memory segment."
Spansion EcoRAM Advantages over other Memory Options
Internet data center servers use DRAM in Dual-in-line Memory Modules (DIMMs) to provide virtually instantaneous access to data. These systems additionally use conventional hard drives for deeper content storage, such as lower-ranked search information. DRAM offers fast access to data, but consumes tremendous amounts of power. In addition, the amount of DRAM in a single server is limited due to energy constraints at the DIMM level and a limited number of DIMM sockets, requiring IT managers to increase the total number of servers in their data centers to meet the burgeoning need for instant access to data with increased capacity.
Due to the requirement for high-performance random access to provide virtually instantaneous data access, Internet data center servers can not utilize NAND Flash memory, which features 1/800th the random read performance of DRAM. Hard disk drives, even Solid State Disks, do not support the random read performance required.
Traditional NOR Flash memory in general is moving ahead of DRAM to smaller process nodes and lower power consumption, but features slower write performance and lower density than required.
Spansion EcoRAM transcends the available memory alternatives, with significant potential benefits for data center solutions:
-- Read performance to meet the requirements for fast random access
-- 1/8 the energy consumption of DRAM
-- 10x the reliability compared to DRAM
-- Die densities two-to-four times greater than conventional floating gate NOR
-- Write performance two-to-ten times greater than that of traditional NOR Flash memory
With power consumption a fraction of DRAM, Spansion EcoRAM takes advantage of the fast read and write speeds of the MirrorBit Eclipse architecture, and enables eight times more capacity per DIMM, which creates the potential for IT managers to replace four conventional DRAM-based servers with only one Spansion EcoRAM-based server. In April 2007, Spansion announced its MirrorBit Eclipse architecture, which combines MirrorBit NOR and ORNAND on a single die, and was specifically designed to feature high-performance read and write performance at high densities for these types of applications.
"There is a class of applications in data centers that are constrained by the addressable main memory a server can handle. Solutions such as Spansion's, revolving around creative use of technology are critical for solving the growing energy crisis in data centers," said Rufus Connell, vice president, North American ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Research Practice for Frost & Sullivan, an industry consulting company that focuses on market research and analysis for corporate growth. "As memory-bounded apps such as search use grow, conventional server architectures are failing to keep up with the increasing number of queries per second from consumers, which means more servers are needed and more power is needed to run and cool them. It is a real problem for data center operators globally and a solution to help save energy and reduce total cost of ownership is needed sooner rather than later."
With Spansion EcoRAM and Virident's GreenGateway, Spansion and Virident have created a way to re-architect the memory subsystem so it is still compatible with existing server designs. This is accomplished by leveraging the standard memory DIMM form factor while requiring little platform modification. The complete solution will empower IT Internet data center managers to break from the constraints of DRAM-only servers, and offer higher performance and a richer experience for Internet users by adding up to four times the memory capacity in the data center without increasing power consumption.
"Virident's driving vision has been to break the limitations imposed by a compute-centric platform in the Internet data center," said Raj Parekh, president and CEO of Virident. "GreenGateway, conceived and designed by Virident, and encompassing silicon, software and hardware innovation, uniquely creates a data centric solution delivering increased performance and lower energy consumption with existing server architectures. Virident's innovation, together with Spansion EcoRAM, makes both green and growth possible in the data center."

PSI Corp. Reviews Its Recent Progress
NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PSI Corp. (OTC Pink Sheets: PSCP) is pleased to review its recent progress.
PSI, for the first time since discontinuing its friendlyway, Inc. business on May 1, 2006, is proceeding with the implementation of its business plan. PSI announced this past week the placement of an additional twenty-four digital screens to increase to eighty-four the number previously deployed. PSI plans to accelerate the placement of digital screens both in New York City and nationally in cooperation with Hospital Media Network. PSI has seen an increase in both local and regional advertising attributable to appreciation of PSI's technology and blend of proprietary programming.
Equally important is the roll-out of a limited number of PSI's E-Banking Kiosks. Such Kiosks enable users as follows: to purchase gifts cards, phone cards and debit cards; to obtain standard ATM services; and to permit bill paying and payroll check cashing among its many innovative features. Each Kiosk will have a 32 inch state-of-the-art digital screen with advanced program capability. The Kiosks will be undergoing ninety-day field tests in selected areas. Thereafter, PSI believes that the substantial indications of interest already received from supermarket and convenience stores and from credit unions will result in eventual purchases of the PSI Cash Express(TM) Kiosks/ATM.
As previously reported in a Form 8-K filing dated April 11, 2008, PSI has retained new auditors to conduct the two-year audit for the period ended October 31, 2007. Such audit is expected to be completed shortly. Once this audit is completed and PSI is then current in its 10-KSB and 10-QSB filings with the SEC, application will be made to NASDAQ to have PSI relisted on the Bulletin Board.
Lastly, PSI intends to issue a proxy statement incident to the calling of an annual meeting of shareholders as soon as the audit is completed and the proxy rules may be complied with.
David Foni, Chairman and CEO of PSI, stated that "Management has devoted the past eighteen months to the resolution of problems inherited from prior management, including the successful termination of litigation, the elimination of payables, the cancellation of shares of Common Stock, and the rescission of improvident transactions consummated by prior management. Nonetheless, development of PSI's two proprietary products has proceeded apace. Management believes that PSI will shortly be able to demonstrate positive cash flow."
About PSI Corp.: provides interactive customer communications systems and applications that support the targeted marketing programs at point-of-purchase (POP) service and information. The company has two vertical products; full motion video digital signage and full service Cash Express(TM) Kiosks/ATM.
