AT&T U-verse Arrives in Northeast WisconsinNortheast Wisconsin Customers Benefit From Advanced Technology, Compelling Features and Video Choice

GREEN BAY, Wis., June 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northeast Wisconsin-area residents have a new -- and better -- choice for their television and communications services. AT&T Inc. today announced the launch of AT&T U-verse(SM) TV and AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet in the area. AT&T is now taking orders for the service and will begin installing services for new customers on June 30.

AT&T U-verse brings together your TV, broadband and AT&T wireless services -- all on one bill -- with unique features that provide a new level of integration, convenience and control. AT&T U-verse services are all delivered over AT&T's advanced Internet Protocol (IP) network.

Customers can currently order AT&T U-verse services in parts of more than a dozen local communities, including Appleton, Fond du Lac, Green Bay and Oshkosh. AT&T will make U-verse services available to more homes throughout the area on an ongoing basis. The service is also available in parts of the Milwaukee and Racine metro areas.

"We're thrilled to be able to provide more customers in Wisconsin with real choice in television services," said Scott T. VanderSanden, president of AT&T Wisconsin. "Thanks in part to the passage of the Wisconsin Video Competition Act, AT&T is bringing new and innovative video products to more Wisconsin consumers."

AT&T is the only national service provider to offer a 100 percent IP-based television (IPTV) service. IP technology helps make AT&T U-verse TV one of the most dynamic and feature-rich services available today, with advanced capabilities customers don't get from other providers and access to more than 40 High Definition (HD) channels.

"With AT&T U-verse, consumers now have a new choice for TV that offers more HD channels, includes in most plans a DVR that can record up to four channels at once and is 100 percent digital for superior picture quality," said John DeVaul, AT&T general manager for Wisconsin. "With professional installation included, programming options like Big Ten Network and NFL Network in HD and up to one month free and $100 cash back, there is no better time to make the switch."

Where available, local AT&T U-verse customers can enjoy numerous TV benefits, including:

-- An attractive selection of TV packages. You can choose from a variety of subscription options that feature up to 320 channels, including digital music, local, movie and sports programming, as well as premium Spanish-language and international packages. All packages include HD-capable equipment, and most packages include an HD-capable digital video recorder (DVR). (More receivers can be added for $5 each a month.)

-- More HD channels than the major local cable providers, with an extensive lineup of more than 40 HD channels. U-verse TV supports both 720p and 1080i formats. Access to HD service is $10 a month with any U-verse TV package.

-- The ability to set your DVR from any location. With AT&T Yahoo! Web and Mobile Remote Access to DVR, you can schedule recordings from any Web-connected PC or compatible AT&T mobile phone (wireless service charges apply) by using your AT&T High Speed Internet account.

-- The ability to record up to four programs at once using a DVR (up to four standard definition programs or two HD and two standard definition programs) -- another feature exclusive to AT&T U-verse TV.

-- AT&T Online Photos from Flickr, which lets you simply and conveniently browse the photos you've uploaded to flickr.com and watch slide shows on your U-verse TV screen from the comfort of your couch.

-- AT&T U-bar, which brings customizable weather, stock, sports and traffic information to the U-verse TV screen, without interrupting the current program. AT&T High Speed Internet subscribers can personalize the U-bar from the AT&T portal to display weather at specific locations, your personal stock portfolio and scores for your favorite sports teams.

-- YELLOWPAGES.COM TV, for fast and easy searches to find local businesses and other information via your TV screen.

-- AT&T Yahoo! Games, so you can now play your favorite online games -- including Sudoku, Solitaire, JT's Blocks, Mah-jongg Tiles and Chess -- on the TV screen.

-- Built-in Picture-in-Picture, which lets you channel-surf on any television without leaving the program you're watching.

-- A growing Video On Demand (VOD) library with one-touch access to movies and events.

-- Advanced search to find upcoming linear or VOD programs by using the title or an actor's name.

-- Easy-to-use parental controls to block live programs, recorded programs or videos by specific channel or ratings.

-- Specially designed U-verse receivers. All U-verse receivers are HD-capable and include universal remote controls with backlit buttons and one-touch access to VOD, recorded TV and other popular U-verse features.

AT&T U-verse offers multiple combinations of TV and Internet packages to customize your experience. U-verse TV offers five programming packages -- U100, U200, the popular U300 and U400 packages, plus U-family, a market-leading family-friendly programming option. Current AT&T U-verse TV pricing starts at $44 a month, depending on the selected programming package (taxes, fees and other monthly charges apply).

Professional installation of all U-verse services is included for new U-verse TV customers, and you also get a 30-day money-back guarantee. Customers who order a qualifying programming package by phone through Sept. 20, 2008, are eligible to choose a free month of the U200, U300 or U400 package or a $50 cash-back redemption by gift check. Customers who order a qualifying TV package online will receive a free month of the TV package. Additional cash-back offers are available to qualifying customers who bundle Internet service.

AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet offers more bandwidth and faster available speeds to meet the needs of every consumer or small business broadband user, including four package options:

-- Max: Downstream speeds up to 10.0 Mbps, upstream speeds up to 1.5 Mbps -- Elite: Downstream speeds up to 6.0 Mbps, upstream speeds up to 1.0 Mbps -- Pro: Downstream speeds up to 3.0 Mbps, upstream speeds up to 1.0 Mbps -- Express: Downstream speeds up to 1.5 Mbps, upstream speeds up to 1.0 Mbps

All AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet packages include wireless home or office networking at no extra cost, giving customers the freedom to access online photos, receive and send large data files, view streaming video and access other high-bandwidth applications from a wireless-enabled laptop or other device. Subscribers also receive virtually unlimited e-mail storage, powerful anti-virus and anti-spam software and access to the nation's largest Wi-Fi network with free unlimited connectivity at more than 17,000 hot spot locations, including more than 7,000 U.S. company-operated Starbucks locations.

AT&T is expanding U-verse services in Wisconsin thanks in part to legislation co-written by Rep. Phil Montgomery, R-Ashwaubenon; and Sen. Jeff Plale, D-Milwaukee; and sponsored by numerous legislators, including Sen. Dave Hansen, D-Green Bay. The Video Competition Act, signed by Gov. Jim Doyle, provides an environment that encourages new video providers, such as AT&T, to invest in Wisconsin to compete against incumbent cable providers.

"The Video Competition Act is helping bring a real alternative to cable TV to families across Wisconsin," Montgomery said. "In addition to this new competition in the Green Bay and Fox Cities area, cable competitors are receiving new state franchises in other parts of the state and bringing needed choice to residents in those areas."

Hansen said: "This is what the Video Franchise Act was all about -- opening up competition to give consumers greater choices in the video market and creating new jobs like those resulting from this new system."

AT&T is deploying next-generation AT&T U-verse services as part of its mission to connect people with their world, everywhere they live and work, and do it better than anyone else. Through AT&T U-verse and the company's 100 percent IP platform, consumers will benefit from integrated AT&T services across the three screens they value most: the TV, the PC and the wireless phone.

MOTOROKR E8 to Make Its Retail Premiere at T-Mobile USA on July 7Award-Winning Motorola Handset Takes Customers from Talk to Music in One Touch

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., June 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Get ready to transform your mobile experience. The highly anticipated ROKR E8 from Motorola Inc. is set to rock the U.S. with exclusive availability from T-Mobile USA, Inc. beginning July 7, 2008.

Giving consumers the best of both worlds, ROKR E8 is both a talented MP3 player that makes great phone calls and a mobile phone with amazing music capabilities. The first device to feature Motorola's breakthrough ModeShift technology stole the spotlight at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), taking home top awards from leading consumer technology media.

Summary of key ROKR E8 features:

ModeShift technology transforms the device from phone to music player with the touch of a button

Innovative haptics technology provides tactile response when a virtual key is pressed

FastScroll navigation wheel allows for scrolling through thousands of songs with the slide of a thumb

Patented CrystalTalk(TM) technology delivers outstanding call clarity even in noisy environments

Windows(TM) Media Player(TM) 11 compatibility enables easy transfer of tunes from the PC to the device(1)

Includes pre-loaded music tracks and album art from Interpol, The Starting Line and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

"With ROKR E8, U.S. music lovers no longer have to settle when it comes to using their mobile phone as a music player and vice versa," said Jean Pierre Le Cannellier, senior director of North America marketing, Motorola Mobile Devices. "ROKR E8 is an exciting blend of innovative design and technology that harmonizes music and phone features into a single mobile device."

Motorola designed ROKR E8 to deliver an uncompromised consumer experience for music or talk. Using breakthrough ModeShift technology from Motorola, the quad-band GPRS/EDGE device presents users with only the controls they need, at the time they need them, instantly transforming from music player to phone with the touch of a button.

When powered off, the surface of ROKR E8 is smooth, with no visible keys. Power on the device and it presents a virtual numbered keypad on the front surface. With one "press" of the virtual music key, the phone keypad disappears and control keys for the music player -- play, pause, fast forward and rewind -- appear in its place.

Yet, ROKR E8 is more than just a "touch"-operated device. Using innovative vibrating haptics technology, the device provides the tactile feedback consumers expect from a traditional keypad, providing confirmation they have pressed a virtual key.

ROKR E8 also marks the debut of the new FastScroll navigation wheel from Motorola, a variable-speed touch control that lets consumers easily scroll through all of the content stored on the device. With a gentle slide of the thumb, the wheel quickly scrolls through your music (music mode), contacts (phone mode), calendar (phone mode), or multimedia (imaging mode) content. Information is easily viewed on the landscape 2.0" QVGA display.

In music mode, ROKR E8 delivers great sound through a three-dimensional stereo feature that enhances two-channel audio and an on-board equalizer. Music can be enjoyed on the built-in speaker, with a compatible Bluetooth(R) enabled stereo headset(2), or through a wired headset plugged into the 3.5mm jack.

ROKR E8 also helps consumers discover new music with a built-in FM radio and support for Song ID(3). The 2GB internal memory can store up to 1,500 songs(4), and the external memory is expandable up to 4GB with an optional microSD card. Music transfers quickly with USB 2.0. The device is compatible with Windows Media Player 11 on the PC, which also provides access to more than 200 online music stores.

In phone mode, ROKR E8 provides outstanding voice quality using Motorola CrystalTalk technology. The powerful device can receive calls while downloading or playing music(1), text messaging(3), surfing the Web(3) or taking pictures so you can constantly stay connected to those that matter most. Quality construction and materials help make ROKR E8 durable and reliable, and a high gloss front, aluminum soft touch back, spun metal side keys and engraved banding offer the modern style expected from Motorola.

    Availability

ROKR E8 will be available beginning July 7, 2008 at select T-Mobile retail stores and online at http://www.t-mobile.com/. For more information on ROKR E8, visit http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/rokre8/ or http://www.t-mobile.com/.
