Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. Reports Second Quarter Fiscal 2008 Results
CINCINNATI, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. , a leading provider of integrated document workflow and management solutions, today announced its financial results for the second quarter and first six months of fiscal year 2008 ended July 31, 2008.
Highlights for the quarter included:
-- Revenues increased 51% versus comparable quarter in fiscal 2007;
-- 4 new clients announced during the quarter;
-- First international client signed;
-- First public health department client signed;
-- Two new workflow solutions - Financial Screening and Cash Management
completed;
-- Backlog increases 16% to $17.7 million from $15.3 million in Q1 2008.
For the second quarter revenues increased by 51% to $4.8 million compared with $3.2 million reported in the comparable quarter last year. The Company reduced its net loss to $0.4 million, or ($0.05) per basic and diluted share in the second quarter, compared with a net loss of $1.1 million, or ($0.12) per basic and diluted share in the second quarter of fiscal 2007.
During the second quarter Streamline Health announced four significant new contracts with combined future revenues in excess of $5 million. Three of these new clients, Catholic Healthcare West, Marion General Hospital and the Columbus Public Health Vital Statistics Office are application-hosting services agreements that are expected to start contributing monthly revenues late in fiscal year 2008 or early in fiscal 2009. The fourth new client is the Company's first international installation in Canada through its partner Emergis Inc., a TELUS company, at the McGill University Health Center and the Centre hospitalier de l'Universite de Montreal. Backlog at the end of the quarter totaled $17.7 million compared to $15.3 million at April 30, 2008; a 16% increase. The related products and services included in the backlog are expected to be delivered over the next 12 to 36 months.
For the six-month period revenues increased by 21% to $8.4 million compared with $7.0 million reported in the comparable six months of last year. The Company reduced its net loss for the first six months to $1.2 million, or ($0.13) per basic and diluted common share, compared with a net loss of $1.5 million, or ($0.16) per basic and diluted common share in the first six months of last year.
Brian Patsy, president and chief executive officer of Streamline Health, commented, "We are pleased with the results of the quarter. The strong revenue increases coupled with the significant improvement in our bottom-line results are in line with management's expectations. The addition of four new clients, two through our partners and two direct by our sales force, indicate we are achieving significant traction with our sales and marketing initiatives so far this year. In addition, we are beginning to develop the type of distribution channel that will drive consistent sales growth in the coming months and years. In that regard, as we previously announced, Scott Boyden joined Streamline Health in late June as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing with the responsibility of managing and directing all of our sales and marketing activities. We believe that under his leadership our distribution partners, as well as our in-house sales team, will become even more effective in penetrating the large and growing markets that our solutions can address."

SiRF & ITC Staff File Appeals of ITC Judge's Initial RulingNo Ban Exists on SiRF or SiRF Customer Product Shipments
SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. , a leading provider of GPS-powered location platforms, today announced that SiRF and the ITC staff have independently filed appeals with the International Trade Commission (ITC) for review of the ITC Administrative Law Judge's (ALJ) initial ruling that certain SiRF products infringed upon patents held by Global Locate, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Broadcom. In addition, SiRF has taken measures to reassure its customers of multiple alternatives to address this initial ruling to enable SiRF customers to continue shipping their innovative products into the U.S. market.
"There is no ban on shipment of SiRF's or our customers' products. In fact, the ITC will not even make any final determination until December after they have finished their investigation including reviewing the ITC Staff's appeal and our appeal," said Kanwar Chadha, founder of SiRF Technology. "Meanwhile we continue to provide our customers with products and services to address their needs and ensure that consumers get the full benefits of SiRF's innovations."
The initial ruling is subject to review by the ITC. SiRF believes that the ALJ's initial decision is incorrect, and the evidence presented during the trial gives SiRF a strong basis for its appeal to the ITC for its final ruling, due to issue in December 2008. The ITC Staff has also independently filed an appeal of the initial ruling.
In addition, there will be a remedies briefing process to the ITC that determines the impact, if any, of a ruling on SiRF and SiRF customers' products, which will occur in due course. The final ITC ruling is further subject to a sixty-day Presidential review period and can then be appealed to the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
During the last 13 years, SiRF has built a patent portfolio in the location technology field that includes more than 250 patents awarded worldwide and more than 370 additional patent applications pending. SiRF's patent portfolio also includes some of the early GPS patents that SiRF acquired through its acquisition of Conexant's GPS business in 2003, and Motorola's GPS assets in 2005.

Lockheed Martin-Built Trident II D5 Missile Achieves 124 Successful Test Launches in a RowTwo D5 Fleet Ballistic Missiles Launched in Navy Test in the Pacific
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Navy conducted a successful test launch yesterday of two Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBMs) built by Lockheed Martin . The Navy launched the unarmed missiles from the submerged submarine USS Louisiana (SSBN 743) in the Pacific Ocean.
The Trident II D5 missile now has achieved 124 consecutive successful test launches since 1989 -- a record unmatched by any other large ballistic missile or space launch vehicle.
"In this recent test, Navy Strategic Systems Programs has again demonstrated the reliability and credibility of the Fleet Ballistic Missile," said Melanie A. Sloane, vice president of Fleet Ballistic Missile programs, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, the Navy's Trident missile prime contractor. "A long partnership combined with disciplined performance by the entire Navy and industry team in every aspect of this critical program has made each and every one of these 124 test launches a success."
The Navy launched the missiles as part of a Follow-on Commander's Evaluation Test. The Navy conducts a continuing series of operational system evaluation tests to assure the safety, reliability, readiness and performance of the Trident II D5 Strategic Weapon System, as required by the Department of Defense's National Command Authority. The tests are conducted under the testing guidelines of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
For the tests, operational missiles are converted into inert configurations using test missile kits produced by Lockheed Martin that contain range safety devices and flight telemetry instrumentation.
First deployed in 1990, the D5 missile is currently aboard OHIO-class submarines and British VANGUARD-class submarines. The three-stage, solid-propellant, inertial-guided ballistic missile can travel a nominal range of 4,000 nautical miles and carries multiple independently targeted reentry vehicles.

SonicWALL Secures Virtual Call Center for Ascend OneAscend One deploys SonicWALL Aventail E-Class SSL VPN to ease implementation of virtual call center for financial services
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SonicWALL, Inc. , a leading secure network infrastructure company, today announced that Maryland-based financial services provider Ascend One Corporation has virtualized its call center and maintained security by deploying a SonicWALL Aventail E-Class EX-1600 SSL VPN solution. SonicWALL's clientless remote access frees Ascend One's solutions and customer care coaches to provide financial services securely from anywhere, while alleviating costly deployment and administration burdens from IT.
Ascend One provides financial solutions and education to assist consumers in eliminating debt. The SonicWALL Aventail SSL VPN effectively replaces Ascend One's initial approach at virtualizing its call center, which required the hands-on installation and configuration of a "fat" IPSec VPN client on each service agent's remote computer.
"We initially used an IPSec VPN, but soon found that solution to be difficult to deploy," said Hyun Soo Park, senior director of information technology for Ascend One. Park supports 350 call center agents and a total of 450 employees with a staff of two PC technicians. "Every deployment was a one-off installation," said Park. "It was very time consuming to troubleshoot."
Park saw the need for a clientless alternative. "We evaluated multiple vendors," said Park. "SonicWALL was the most intuitive."
Park now uses the SonicWALL Aventail SSL VPN to deliver secure remote access to Web-enabled applications on virtual desktops that are load-balanced among multiple terminal servers. With SonicWALL, Park has the granular access control to restrict authorized access to the virtual desktop applications on the terminal servers, and not the entire corporate network.

For instance, residents of a particular village -- via posters and other marketing initiatives -- will know that the vehicle will show up on the 3rd of each month. By November, the service will deploy 475 vehicles and cover 50,000 rural villages -- 40 million people, most of whom live below the poverty line.
MHUs include paramedics, pharmacists and lab technicians. The modern, state-of-the-art vehicles are equipped to carry numerous drugs and can store blood/urine samples for testing. They even feature a television that can show public health education programs. Services they provide include pre- and post-natal checkups, height and weight monitoring, nutritional supplements for mothers and children, basic blood and urine lab investigations and screening, advice and medicine dispensation for chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, epilepsy and anemia. When seriously ill patients show up at an MHU, an ambulance is summoned via EMRI (Call 108) and the sick person is brought to an Andhra Pradesh hospital.
Moreover, because cultural sensitivities in many rural areas prevent some women from pursuing care they may need, the 104 Mobile program trains female health volunteers (known as ASHA workers) in rural communities. These female healthcare providers conduct beneficiary visits and provide villagers with 24-hour access to 104 advice, often via mobile phone. Eventually, Andhra Pradesh will feature 40,000 ASHAs.
Satyam is enabling much of the technology that drives the program. Its engineers designed the vehicles -- with rural India in mind -- and have established the infrastructure to support a rapidly growing initiative. Other examples of how technology enables the Mobile 104 abound:
-- Each patient is assigned a number, which is stored in a secure database. The tracking number, when accessed, will provide a patient's entire medical history. This will facilitate care and prevent distribution of drugs to which a patient is allergic.
-- The program is web-enabled; patients can communicate with the call center via phone, fax, chat, SMS or email. In addition, ASHA workers can send patient data from field visits via SMS.
-- Medical information is uploaded immediately to hospitals, enabling immediate follow-up.
-- Results of each patient contact are tracked daily in a database.
-- Villagers are connected with other healthcare services for which they qualify.
-- Mobile units use GPS to find remote villages quickly.
