RESTON, Va., April 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- comScore, Inc. , a leader in measuring the digital world today released the results of a study of vertical ad networks, which target ads to specific audiences online according to demographic or category content. Vertical ad networks include entities such as Adify Media, Federated Media, Glam Media and Travel Ad Network, among numerous others. The study showed that the collective reach of vertical ad networks tracked by comScore has increased substantially in the past year, from 21.5 percent of the total U.S. Internet audience in March 2008 to 57.1 percent in March 2009.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080115/COMSCORELOGO) Growth in Vertical Ad Network Reach March 2009 vs. March 2008 Total U.S. - Home/Work/University Locations Source: comScore Category Mar-08 Mar-09 Percent Change Total U.S. Internet Audience 188,010 192,173 2% Vertical Ad Networks - Unique Visitors (000) 40,343 109,757 172% Vertical Ad Networks - Reach (%) 21.5% 57.1% 166%

"comScore research indicates that vertical ad networks are a growing phenomenon in the online advertising space, in part because of their ability to deliver engaged, targeted audiences," said Lesle Litton, VP, Media at comScore. "As more vertical ad networks prove their ability to effectively reach specific target audiences by aggregating mid-tail publisher sites, the industry will likely give greater consideration to these emerging ad delivery channels."

People Reached by Vertical Ad Networks Exhibit High Category Engagement

The study showed that vertical ad networks were effective in reaching people with significantly higher than average engagement in their respective content categories. Of the five segments studied, people reached by vertical ad networks spent at least 60 percent more time in those site categories than the average category visitor. For example, people reached in the Gaming segment spent 423 minutes per visitor on sites in that category, 123 percent higher than the average visitor.

Trapeze Networks Introduces New 802.11n Access Point Meeting Unique Demands of High-Density Deployments

    PLEASANTON, California, April 27 /PRNewswire/ --

    - One Size Doesn't Fit All

Today, Trapeze Networks, a Belden brand (NYSE: BDC), announced U.S. availability of its MP-82, an 802.11n dual-radio 2x3 MIMO indoor access point. With a list price of US$745.00, the MP-82 is a high-value access point ideally-suited for work spaces with a high number of computers, wireless handsets or PDAs needing Wi-Fi connectivity. The MP-82 is the newest member of Trapeze Networks line of NonStop Wireless network line of products.

Less than one year ago, Trapeze Networks introduced it's first 802.11n access point, the MP-432, a dual-radio 3x3 MIMO indoor access point. The MP-432 is the cornerstone of WLAN deployments around the world, including the world's largest .11n WLAN deployment, the University of Minnesota. With today's introduction, the MP-432 continues to be the access point of choice for challenging RF environments that need to cover the largest possible area.

RingMaster Points the Way to New Product Opportunity

Trapeze Networks customers use the RingMaster suite of management software to plan, configure, deploy, monitor and optimize WLANs. A unique feature of RingMaster is its ability to import architectural plans and wiring diagrams to understand the precise radio frequency environment and need for connectivity and then create the optimum deployment of access points.

"During our early .11n deployments, our customers began to notice something based on the deployment diagrams RingMaster created and what we saw suggested an interesting new product opportunity," said Ahmet Tuncay, Trapeze Networks' chief technology officer. "Through RingMaster, we validated the need for a second type of 802.11n access point, one designed for areas needing a higher-density of connectivity per square foot, where the range of the radio signal is a secondary consideration to the number of clients needing high throughput. Or, you could put it another way: One size doesn't fit all. The new MP-82 is the first step any enterprise WLAN company has taken to help its customers deploy the right combination of .11n access points at the right price for the right application. Maybe we're the first because, at Trapeze Networks, we put customers first."

Less Than Six Months from Idea to Market, Worldwide Development Effort Swings Into Motion

From the identification of the requirements to getting a product to market took Trapeze Networks less than six months, a remarkably short period of time for a new access point. Trapeze Networks rallied engineers from all three of Trapeze Networks' development centers - California, China and Romania - to marry hardware and Trapeze Networks' proprietary access point software and did so in record time. Then the MP-82 was put through rigorous quality assurance testing to ensure it meets Trapeze Networks high standards.

MP-82 Already Accelerating Migration to 802.11n

"Trapeze Networks has already sold the MP-82 into some school systems," said Steve Asche, Trapeze Networks' director of inside sales. "Schools, of course, are a perfect setting for an MP-82 - classrooms have a wall-to-wall need for connectivity. But the other thing schools are capitalizing on is that the MP-82 makes the transition to 802.11n easier to afford. Compared to our 802.11a/b/g access point, the Trapeze Networks MP-422, the new MP-82 has more than five times the performance but costs only 25% more. Schools systems know how to do the math."

MP-82: New Member of the NonStop Wireless Family

NonStop Wireless is an innovation that is delivered in the new version of Trapeze Mobility System Software (MSS). MSS is the distributed wireless operating system that runs on Trapeze's wireless LAN equipment and delivers the benefits of Trapeze's Smart Mobile architecture. MSS runs on all Trapeze equipment, from access points to controllers and is backwards compatible across the company's entire product line. In high-density deployments, MP-82s create a web of connectivity so that, should any access point ever fail, clients will roll over to the one next closest.

    About Trapeze Networks

Trapeze Networks, a Belden Brand, is a leader in enterprise wireless LAN equipment and management software. Trapeze was the first company to introduce NonStop Wireless - delivering unmatched reliability to the enterprise wireless LAN and its solutions are optimized for companies requiring mobility and high bandwidth such as healthcare, education, and hospitality. Trapeze delivers Smart Mobile(TM) providing scalable wireless LANs for applications such as Voice over Wi-Fi, location services, and indoor/outdoor connectivity.

Owners of cars, trucks, motorcycles, commercial vehicles and construction equipment now have a proven solution that is directly integrated into area law enforcement agencies that leverage the system to track and recover LoJack-equipped vehicles when they are reported stolen. To date, LoJack has a 90% recovery success rate and has recovered more than 250,000 stolen assets worldwide.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080512/NEM054LOGO )

Effective immediately, the LoJack System will enable local and regional law enforcement agencies, including the Reno Police Department, Nevada Highway Patrol, Sparks Police Department, Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Carson City Sheriff's Office, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, Nevada County Sheriff's Office, South Lake Tahoe Police Department, South Lake Tahoe California Highway Patrol, Truckee Police Department and the Truckee California Highway Patrol to provide a new level of vehicle theft protection to residents. LoJack created its Stolen Vehicle Recovery System more than 20 years ago specifically to operate within the processes and procedures of law enforcement and offers a highly effective, turnkey method for system activation and asset recovery. To the participating agencies, LoJack has donated Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) and installed the units in the law enforcement vehicles that police use to track and recover stolen vehicles.

Patrick Clancy, Vice President of Law Enforcement for LoJack Corporation, said, "In December 2000, LoJack launched its Stolen Vehicle Recovery System in Southern Nevada and has been working to help law enforcement combat vehicle theft in the state ever since. In the greater Las Vegas area, vehicle theft has decreased by 39 percent in the last four years as 13,662* vehicles were stolen in 2008 versus 22,465* in 2005. We are proud to be one of the factors helping battle vehicle theft and are equally pleased to be able to offer this same solution to the people of the greater Reno area."

    How LoJack Works

At the time of purchase, a small wireless radio-frequency transceiver is hidden in a vehicle in one of 20 possible locations. Once the vehicle is reported stolen to the police, the vehicle's identification number is matched to the LoJack System registration number by state law enforcement computers. After the match, the LoJack System is activated by police, which causes the small, hidden radio transceiver in the vehicle to emit a silent, continuous signal. Law enforcement vehicles and aircraft equipped with LoJack PTCs follow these signals, which lead to the precise location of the stolen vehicle. The 90 percent recovery rate for vehicles equipped with LoJack has translated over the years into $5 billion in recovered assets worldwide.

    LoJack Availability

The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System is now available at participating automobile, motorcycle and commercial dealerships in the greater Reno area. To locate a LoJack dealership, visit http://www.lojack.com/ or call 1-800-4-LOJACK (1-800-456-5225).

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., April 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Everything Channel, a division of United Business Media, today announced that author and Harvard Business School Professor Andrew McAfee and best-selling author and Managing Director at TCG Advisors and a venture partner at MDV, Geoffrey Moore, will deliver keynote addresses at Midsize Enterprise Summit East. The event will take place May 3-6 at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, FL.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20090427/NY05568)

The Midsize Enterprise Summit brings senior IT executives from midsize businesses together with industry analysts and leading and emerging vendors. The event embraces midmarket-specific issues, trends and solutions from a horizontal and vertical industry-specific perspective. The business intensive format includes analyst-led sessions, vendor-led World Premiers, Private Boardroom Appointments, a Showcase of Exhibits, as well as networking functions.

"Many shifts are occurring in the midmarket that effect IT and CIOs need to embrace them. Our extraordinary line up of speakers will help these CIOs gain a better understanding of what technologies they must evaluate and why they will impact how business is done in the midmarket. We are looking forward to an exciting event," said Nancy Hammervik, Vice President/Managing Director, Everything Channel Events.

Andrew McAfee, author and Harvard Business School Professor will present "Social Media in a Corporate Environment - What you need to be aware of." McAfee will discuss how companies are using Web 2.0 technologies and practices to increase revenues, decrease costs, and generate innovations. McAfee coined the phrase "Enterprise 2.0" and has a book on this topic, which will be published in August 2009. In his presentation McAfee will show how Enterprise 2.0 addresses tough organizational challenges and how it brings novel capabilities. McAfee will describe what successful companies and their leaders are doing to succeed with the new tools.

Geoffrey A. Moore, Author of "Crossing the Chasm" and "Inside the Tornado" and Managing Director, TCG Advisors and a venture partner at MDV will present "A Fundamental Shift in Focus." Moore will discuss how for most of the history of IT, midsize enterprise investment has been driven primarily by the development and deployment of the great database systems of record: financials, HR, order processing, inventory, customer relationship, supply chain, product life cycle, and the like. Now that much of that work is largely done it no longer will drive new investment and it will no longer engage the business side of the house in the IT dialog. Moore will provide an overview of the impact that will have on IT organizations and vendors.

In addition, Niel Nickolaisen, CIO and Director of Strategic Planning at Headwaters, Inc will present the CIO Insight Session. Nickolaisen has held both technology and operations executive positions; typically in turnaround roles. He has developed a strategic and tactical alignment model that significantly improves returns on technology and business initiatives (by both improving the benefits and reducing the costs and risks). Nickolaisen holds a MS in Engineering from MIT and a BS in Physics from Utah State University. He writes the "Practical CIO" column for the CIO Leadership Network and a "how to" column for Search CIO. Additionally, he is the author of an Addison Wesley book on Agile Leadership scheduled for release in 2009. He is one of the founders of Accelinnova, a think tank focused on improving organizational and IT agility.

For the first time, the Midsize Enterprise Summit will present the CIO Vision Awards & Top 100 Midsize CIO List. The awards will honor companies and individuals who demonstrate innovation, excellence and partnership in deploying IT solutions, while these individuals are helping their organizations create a true competitive advantage by leveraging technology.

NEW YORK, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Logo, a unit of Viacom's MTV Networks , announced today the launch of TripOutGayTravel.com, a new site, dedicated to all things travel for the LGBT community. Launching Friday, May 1, TripOutGayTravel.com provides LGBT travelers with the latest on gay travel through its vast editorial features, deep destination guide content and the web's largest gay travel video library. The site also invites users to recommend and comment on destinations, as well as discuss the thousands of travel listings on the site. While TripOutGayTravel.com is part of Logo's larger constellation of Web properties, the site will operate separately from LOGOonline.com. TripOutGayTravel.com marks the first stand-alone travel-focused Web property launched by MTV Networks.

The TripOutGayTravel.com community can also book their next trip through the site, which is powered by Travelocity's booking engine. TripOutGayTravel.com provides a platform for travel aficionados to get informed and connect with other travel fanatics with user recommendations and a gay-friendly ratings system for travel destinations. Additionally the site will feature a daily travel blog, extensive travel video from LOGOonline.com and editorial features such as "The World's 10 Best Gay Beaches" "Quick & Easy Romantic Road Trips" and "The Most Historic LGBT Places in the U.S."

TripOutGayTravel.com is launching with multiple advertisers and three primary advertising sponsors - American Airlines, Travelocity and Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB. American Airlines, a long-time supporter of the LGBT community, will be a site-wide sponsor and co-sponsor of the official TripOutGayTravel.com sweepstakes where users will enter to win a trip to Fort Lauderdale at Florida's first W Hotel. Thirty first-place winners will receive a Fort Lauderdale beach chic starter kit including a beach towel, flip flops and beachball. And finally, in addition to Travelocity's booking capabilities, the travel giant will target LOGOonline.com's upscale users through continued and ongoing marketing efforts.

As a proud partner of the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA), TripOutGayTravel.com will showcase only the most trusted sources for gay travel planning, the site will deliver a new style that will create a best-in-breed gay travel planning experience.

Logo has previously shared with its viewers travel tips through the travel section of LOGOonline.com and TV series "Bump!" and "Round Trip Ticket." From discovering the top 50 gay bars in America, to browsing through photos of the hottest European beaches or watching full episodes of "Bump!" shot in every continent around the globe, TripOutGayTravel.com gets viewers where they need to go.

"We're proud that our standalone site will launch with premier sponsors who recognize Logo's prowess in delivering distinct, targeted opportunities where they can connect with a loyal audience. In this case, an audience that always places travel high on its priority list no matter what the state of the economy is," said Lisa Sherman, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Logo.

"As the #1 wholly-owned-gay online destination, LOGOonline.com is truly connected to the LGBT community and its myriad, diverse interests. We know that travel tops that list for most gays and lesbians based on their passionate feedback to our online and on-air offerings on this topic," said Justin Garrett, Vice President of Digital Advertising Sales, Logo. "TripOutGayTravel.com will tap into that passion by providing a community for like-minded travelers to exchange tips and agendas and easily convert those ideas into actual bookings."

George Carrancho, Manager of American's LGBT Rainbow Marketing and Sales, said, "We work hard year-round to enhance American Airlines' strong reputation in the LGBT community. Our partnership with Logo and TripOutGayTravel will allow us to keep bringing valuable travel services and content to many of our most loyal LGBT customers."

The launch of TripOutGayTravel.com follows the recent successful growth of Logo's Web properties. While the Logo Constellation has been the #1 wholly-owned gay property in terms of online traffic for the past year, the constellation surged past the competition, which includes a larger ad network to become the #1 entity within comScore's Gay/Lesbian category in March, 2009, as it saw its total unique visitors jump +29% from February, 2009.

Also starting Friday, May 1 at 7 PM ET/PT Logo will air "TripOut Gay Travel Weekend," a weekend-long marathon, dedicated to all things travel and the launch of TripOutGayTravel.com. Travel around the globe with Logo from local hotspots ("US of ANT" and "Out in the City") to international destinations ("Bump!" and "Round Trip Ticket") to the history of a legendary vacation destination ("When Ocean Meets Sky") and get ready to indulge your inner traveler. Logo's 4-year running Friday night travel programming destination, TripOut, will also continue airing under its new name "TripOut Gay Travel" with frequent throws to the new site in this cross-branded weekly block.

NI Technology Research Previews Earnings for Bookham, Avanex, Emulex, Actel, Anadigics, Cerner, and Semitool

PRINCETON, N.J., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Next Inning Technology Research (http://www.nextinning.com/), an online investment newsletter focused on semiconductor and technology stocks, announced it has previewed earnings for Bookham , Avanex , Emulex , Actel , Anadigics , Cerner , Semitool and many others.

Throughout this challenging period in the market, Editor Paul McWilliams has helped his subscribers identify uniquely positioned tech sector opportunities. Some of these stocks appreciated nearly 200% in only months.

Due to this rapid appreciation, McWilliams has more recently suggested thinning certain speculative holdings and provided specific examples showing readers how to use options to reduce risks. The results speak for themselves; on a year-to-date basis, the Next Inning model portfolio has returned 41%, significantly ahead of the 8% return by the Nasdaq over that period.

By taking a free test drive of Next Inning, you'll receive free copies of the newly updated "Guide to Undervalued Tech Stocks" and supporting State of Tech reports as they are released. These reports cover 79 technology companies and are chock full of actionable commentary and ratings that identify potential big winners and which stocks investors should avoid. To gain immediate access to the service, visit the following link:

    https://www.nextinning.com/subscribe/index.php?refer=prn815 McWilliams covers these topics:

-- McWilliams wrote a special report covering five of the primary players in the optical sector last November. In the report, he listed Bookham as his favorite speculative play. It has since gone up 75%. How does McWilliams view the company now that it is scheduled to merge with Avanex? Which does he think presents the better value?

-- McWilliams advised readers last week that Broadcom would have to sweeten its offer to get a deal closed with Emulex. Does he still think that will be the case? Why does he think Broadcom is so interested in broadening its interests in data center applications? In addition to his Emulex earnings preview, Emulex shareholders will find interest in his updated strategy review that was also published this morning.

-- The price of Anadigics has moved up over 135% since McWilliams listed the stock as a good speculative investment last December. He reiterated the call to buy in March and it's up 50% from that level. What is it McWilliams sees working in Anadigics' favor that Wall Street was obviously slow to recognize? Does he think investors should still consider buying the stock at its current price?

-- McWilliams says Cerner is poised to benefit from health care reform legislation, but there are two issues investors should consider before buying.

-- McWilliams alerted readers in early March there was news coming from his Asian contacts that suggested better times were ahead for Semitool. Since publishing that report, the stock has moved up 80%. What was the news and does he think there is still more room for appreciation?

Founded in September 2002, Next Inning's model portfolio has returned 187% since its inception versus 31% for the Nasdaq.

    About Next Inning:

Survey: Commitment to Alternative Workplace Strategies is Being Driven by Current Economic LandscapeMicrosoft and CoreNet Global survey takes a closer look at the rise of Alternative Workplace Strategies

DALLAS, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Within the current economic landscape, corporations are going to continue to cut expenses. With current workforces becoming further geographically spread along with the introduction of new technologies, alternative workplace strategies (AWS) present opportunity that can potentially save on salary cuts and freezes. Still, the largest challenge continues to be a lack of support from senior management, according to a recent survey of CoreNet Global Dallas Summit registrants.

Microsoft with CoreNet Global continued their effort on an international survey examining the successes, challenges and drivers of AWS. Microsoft and CoreNet Global last partnered for a North American study in October at the Orlando Global Summit. The current survey specifically examines registrants to the Dallas Global Summit with 71% representing large scale, global operations. An international survey was also distributed at the Macau Global Summit as well.

The economic landscape has ushered in a more mobile workforce at a faster pace with an overall shrinking corporate footprint. In fact, 55% of survey respondents agree that the commitment to the overall AWS strategy has increased significantly to support current economic conditions. Sixty-one percent of respondents report having a greater commitment to their AWS programs. Whether working in open office settings, satellite offices or other remote locations, employers are becoming more flexible with the technologies used to match the people and places where the work is being done.

This survey of international workplace and corporate real estate executives (CRE) continued in line with findings from the other international findings that not only are AWS programs going to grow, but 76% of the respondents report the presence of these programs within their organization already. An interesting difference that we see specific to Dallas is of those companies that already have programs in place, 71% have been in place for at least two years. The early adopters, those programs that have been in place for less than two years, are much fewer, at 29%. We're seeing a slight difference in the number of employees within corporations embracing these programs. At the Orlando Summit in November, over half of the companies surveyed reported less than 10% of employee participation. For Dallas we see, we see almost one-fifth of companies reporting between 10-20% participation with 47% of companies forecasting a slight change over the next three years.

"From our global survey we have consistently seen two main reasons corporations are implementing existing AWS. The first reason is about people -- the ability to attract and retain talent and provide a better work-life balance by enabling employees the flexibility to work remotely. Second, improving productivity and collaboration. Cost, whether right sizing the portfolio or overall cost cutting, were also important, but less than the people issues," said Katherine Randolph, Director, Unified Communications for Microsoft. "Empowered by the latest realities in mobile technology, Corporate Real Estate is working closer with IT and Human Resource departments build a joint vision for the best possible workplace and make it a reality within the current global economy."

Companies are currently looking to reduce operating expenses wherever possible with 62% of respondents agreeing that current conditions are likely to continue through 2010. Travel is the highest area of reduction followed by hiring freezes, staff reduction and bonus/salary reduction.

Fifty-seven percent of companies state that AWS strategy of Telework is a component to the reduced travel policy. Within Telework, Email continues to be the number one form of communication. Web conferencing is used by 80% of respondents' companies, and instant messaging, voice over IP and video conferencing are all being utilized.

While we see regional trends in rolling out AWS programs, North American and European operations are further along in development of AWS programs. All other global regions have ample room for growth and adoption. Top regions that are actively rolling out, are in the processing of piloting, deploying or have completed the rollout include:

    -- North America - 96% -- Europe - 65% -- Other Asia/Pacific Rim - 48% -- India - 46%

Momentum is clearly growing around the world, despite challenges. Similarly to Orlando's 45%, we see 48% of Dallas' registrants' largest challenge as being a lack of sufficient support from senior management, followed by lack of middle management support (40%).

"The economy has dealt our members many business challenges over the past year. As an industry, CRE is adopting new practices including flexible programs such as alternative workplace strategies, which will ultimately lead to much smarter business decisions," said Dr. Prentice Knight, CEO of CoreNet Global.
