Zix Corporation CEO Provides Corporate Update for Second Quarter 2009Current estimates have the Company expecting to achieve its guidance

DALLAS, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), , the leader in hosted services for email encryption and payor-sponsored e-prescribing, today offered a corporate update by its chief executive officer, Rick Spurr.

"The second quarter was another solid quarter for ZixCorp and we are on target to report within the range of our previously-issued guidance," said Spurr. "Preliminary estimates are that we should meet our revenue guidance of $7.3 to $7.6 million and our guidance for adjusted earnings per share (which excludes non-cash stock-based compensation, non-recurring items, and uses an effective tax rate of less than 1 percent) of ($0.01) to $0.00 per share. With the positive indications of future demand for our services, particularly in the Email Encryption business, I feel very upbeat about the direction in which the business is heading."

"In its Email Encryption business, ZixCorp delivered a record $10.0 million in total orders, including $1.7 million in new first-year orders, the second highest result in the Company's history," continued Spurr. "Similar to the Company's highest quarter for new first-year orders when the HIPAA Security Rule went into effect in April 2005, we believe a key driver for this quarter's strong performance was the increased demand from healthcare resulting from the expansion of HIPAA under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Despite a lower renewal rate for the second quarter of 86 percent due to various factors which we will discuss in detail during our upcoming conference call, we remain optimistic about our future success in this business because of the encouraging signs of demand for Email Encryption and our recognized leadership position in the industry."

About the Company's e-Prescribing business, Spurr said, "Following the earlier announcement that ZixCorp is reviewing strategic alternatives for its e-Prescribing service, we continue with business as usual with respect to executing our existing contracts and providing services to our customers. Our PocketScript business achieved our e-Prescribing deployment guidance for the second quarter with approximately 325 deployments. ZixCorp processed over 2.5 million scripts in the quarter, an increase of approximately 19 percent compared with the same quarter in 2008. In light of our announcement concerning the assessment of this business, we are no longer in negotiations for a large contract with a national payor that could have almost doubled the number of currently active prescribers. We are, however, engaged in payor discussions to improve the profitability of our e-Prescribing business through new pricing arrangements and service enhancements."

ZixCorp to Announce Second Quarter 2009 Results on July 28

The Company's second quarter 2009 operating results will be released after close of the U.S. financial markets on July 28, 2009. A conference call will be held to discuss this information on July 28 at 5:00 p.m. ET.

MVTRAC Selects Federal Signal as Its First Choice License Plate Recognition Technology ProviderAdvanced technology to enable automobile recovery

UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MVTRAC, a leading technology service provider in the auto finance and recovery industries, has selected Federal Signal's advanced automated license plate recognition (ALPR) technology to facilitate recovery of automobiles.

Federal Signal's ALPR cameras capture images of license plates. The images are processed through powerful optical character recognition (OCR) engines that convert the images into data. The data is then checked against a real-time database of vehicles wanted for repossession by finance companies. MVTRAC geo-targets the vehicle with Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to enable immediate recovery of the collateral. Federal Signal's ALPR technology can help MVTRAC expedite the often lengthy vehicle recovery process. The result? Reduced asset depreciation and the potential generation of billions of revenue dollars for the auto finance industry.

    Speed asset recovery

"Due to the dramatic reduction in loan portfolio values and fewer purchasers of such portfolios, now more than ever lenders need to locate and recover their collateral. With today's rapidly decreasing market value of automobiles, longer recovery time means greater asset depreciation -- and that translates to greater losses to the lenders," said Scott Jackson, chief executive officer of MVTRAC. "After a year of software and hardware development and due diligence, we are excited to choose Federal Signal for the implementation of MVTRAC's unsurpassed technology and data solution that is Revolutionizing the Recovery Industry(TM)."

"Federal Signal is pleased to partner with MVTRAC to take our advanced license plate recognition technology solutions to the auto recovery arena," stated William H. Osborne, president and chief executive officer of Federal Signal Corporation. "MVTRAC's streamlined process and end-to-end service and support offers Federal Signal an outstanding platform from which we can continue to deliver groundbreaking ALPR systems to a high-demand industry."

Multiplus Fidelidade Chooses Oracle's Technological Platform

    SAO PAULO, July 7 /PRNewswire/ --

    - Technology to Link Loyalty Programs From Companies in Different Industries, Including TAM Fidelidade

Multiplus Fidelidade, the new business unit at TAM (NYSE: TAM; Bovespa: TAMM4), and Oracle have signed a contract to implement the technological platform using the Oracle Siebel Call Center and Oracle Siebel CRM Loyalty solutions, which will link the loyalty programs of companies representing diverse industries -- from an airline company to gas stations, phone companies, supermarkets, hotels, bookstores, movie theaters, banks, credit cards, internet service providers, automobile manufacturers, and more -- and integrate them into a network of loyalty initiative programs.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080221/SPTH002LOGO )

"We decided to invest in a top quality global technology that has been proven to have the flexibility and versatility to efficiently manage the network of Multiplus Fidelidade programs, which has several companies across different industries as members, and each one of them with their own regulations," states Libano Barroso, TAM's Vice President of Finances, Management and IT, explaining the reasons that led them to choose the Oracle platform. He adds that another decisive factor was the platform's scalability; it is able to handle the fast, strong growth expected as partners join the program and consumers become Multiplus Fidelidade members.

The Multiplus Fidelidade Operations Director, Luiz Eduardo Ritzmann, confirms that the technologies of 13 companies that participated in the selection process were evaluated, requiring the analysis of 110 technical requirements. "We came to the conclusion that the loyalty programs platform developed by Oracle with globally proven effectiveness, including those developed for airline companies, is the most appropriate due to its flexibility, which allows the connectivity of all programs belonging to the Multiplus Fidelidade network," he says. Oracle's global operation was another relevant attribute, considering that in the first quarter of 2010 TAM will complete the membership process with the Star Alliance, the largest global commercial aviation alliance.

This flexibility will allow Multiplus Fidelidade members to concentrate on a single points account that will accumulate with airline ticket purchases as well as daily spending with gas stations, cell phone companies, supermarkets and bookstores that participate in the network, as well as companies in other industries. Consumers may access Multiplus Fidelidade via the internet to redeem accumulated points for rewards offered by the participating companies' loyalty programs -- from TAM Viagens tours to products and services from the other partners.

According to Ritzmann, the other decisive factor in the decision process, the Oracle platform's scalability, allows "the number of partners in the network and especially the number of Multiplus Fidelidade members to be multiplied without limiting its future expansion." The TAM Fidelidade program alone, which will continue being TAM's frequent fliers program, currently, has 5.9 million members.

Oracle Siebel CRM Loyalty is a scalable open solution based on market standards and guarantees flexibility and agility in the inclusion of new partners, in addition to ensuring a 360 degree view of the client by complete client mapping of transaction history, services required, purchases made, preferences, etc. "TAM is our first client in the aviation industry. The airline's proposal is innovative and will ensure a qualitative boost for the company with respect to its clients," says Elisabete Waller, Vice President of Oracle Applications in Brazil. "We offer a complete solution, recognized by independent research institutes like Gartner and Forrester, who consider Oracle a leader in the CRM industry."

More information about Multiplus Fidelidade is available at www.multiplusfidelidade.com.br.

Air China to Feature Boeing Airplane Health Management on 737 FleetInnovative system expected to provide efficiency gains for airline

SEATTLE, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Boeing and Air China said today that the airline will use Boeing's Airplane Health Management (AHM) system to monitor the in-flight condition of its Next-Generation 737 fleet. The agreement covers a total of 117 Air China 737s that are in service and on order.

Air China is Boeing's first Chinese customer for AHM and the 33rd commercial customer overall.

Air China will use AHM to gather and evaluate critical real-time in-flight flying condition data, relaying airplane information to ground controllers. This visibility allows the airline to turn a potentially time-consuming and costly maintenance delay into a well-planned and easily addressable repair. AHM helps minimize or eliminate scheduling problems, benefiting passengers and improving overall airplane availability.

"We expect Boeing's Airplane Health Management to help us in many ways," said Zhong Dechao, deputy chief engineer of Air China. "Air China will benefit with increased airplane availability, maintenance efficiency and economic performance. We are happy that Boeing is our partner."

AHM also supports long-term fleet reliability by helping airlines identify and respond to faults proactively. Fleet-wide history and knowledge from multiple operators is available to help guide repair decisions on same-model airplanes, improving reliability and efficiency.

"Boeing is committed to providing solutions that will help airlines operate efficiently, and AHM is a key tool in that effort," said Dan da Silva, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes Commercial Aviation Services. "This efficiency is a strong driver in Air China's AHM selection.

Multiplus Fidelidade Chooses Oracle's Technological PlatformTechnology to Link Loyalty Programs From Companies in Different Industries, Including TAM Fidelidade

SAO PAULO, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Multiplus Fidelidade, the new business unit at TAM (NYSE: TAM; Bovespa: TAMM4), and Oracle have signed a contract to implement the technological platform using the Oracle Siebel Call Center and Oracle Siebel CRM Loyalty solutions, which will link the loyalty programs of companies representing diverse industries -- from an airline company to gas stations, phone companies, supermarkets, hotels, bookstores, movie theaters, banks, credit cards, internet service providers, automobile manufacturers, and more -- and integrate them into a network of loyalty initiative programs.

IBM Award for Innovative Solution to Tackling World's Most Critical Social and Environmental Problems

    LONDON, July 7 /PRNewswire/ --

IBM (NYSE: IBM (http://www.ibm.com/investor)) was awarded the prestigious Coffey International Award for its application of technical expertise in innovative ways to address the greatest societal challenges of our time at the annual Business in the Community (BITC) Awards for Excellence yesterday.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20090416/IBMLOGO )

IBM earned the award for World Community Grid (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/), in essence the virtual equivalent in processing power to a Top 10 supercomputer devoted to humanitarian research. World Community Grid gains its power from the aggregated spare computing capacity of 1.3 million PCs belonging to 460,000 volunteers from over 200 countries. For participating members, some with perhaps limited time for volunteering, it provides the opportunity through the World Community Grid to make a significant contribution to tackling the Millennium Development Goals.

The Award was presented to Larry Hirst, Chairman IBM Europe Middle East Africa, by HRH The Prince of Wales, President of BITC, at a garden party reception hosted by The Prince at his home, Clarence House.

Charles Duff, Corporate Development Manager, Coffey International Limited and Chair of judges said: "The scale, significance, power and potential of World Community Grid is impressive. IBM has collaborated with a wide spectrum of research partners and encouraged businesses, community groups and individuals to provide free computational capacity to support international humanitarian projects. The judges salute IBM's programme and hope that the recognition conferred by this award will encourage individuals everywhere to join with IBM so that more research can be completed even faster as part of this exciting, inspiring and innovative development initiative. We also challenge the business world at large to sign up to World Community Grid and help grow its potential to achieve even greater impact on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the world's most pressing needs."

World Community Grid is a powerful example of IBM's recently announced smarter planet vision in which systems from utility grids to healthcare can be made to work better, as a result of increased data, interconnected networks and greater embedded intelligence.

According to Larry Hirst of IBM, "A lot of important scientific research isn't happening. It lacks the funding for the supercomputing capacity that is needed to execute large and complex calculations. World Community Grid changes the rules. It's free and available to both public and not for profit organisations for use in humanitarian research that might not otherwise be performed."

He continues, "The Grid is about large scale volunteerism -- utilising an individual's unused computer capacity to address scientific problems -- and in doing so accelerates research breakthroughs that underpin the Millennium Development Goals. This helps to make the world a smarter, better place. At IBM we appreciate winning the BITC Coffey International Award, and it is my hope that through the award awareness will be increased, more people will join the grid, and more scientists will submit research proposals."

World Community Grid works when an individual's computer is on but not in active use. It performs a small piece of complex scientific research, receiving and returning the results via World Community Grid. There is no need to leave an idle computer turned on, but while it's active and a user takes a break for even a few seconds, World Community Grid harnesses the spare capacity. The accumulation of the idle time in short spurts from millions of computers is the equivalent of one of the world's top 10 supercomputers.

World Community Grid is operated by IBM and provided for free to support not-for-profit humanitarian research projects. In total 14 projects are currently running or have completed their computational phase, involving teams of scientists from 35 research centres in six countries. Projects cover three big topics of Nutrition - Disease - Environment. These projects are contributing to five of the eight Millennium Development Goals.

IBM's investment in World Community Grid has provided research scientists with over 252,000 years of computer run-time at no cost, and delivered over 290 million research results since 2004. It enables research which would not otherwise be possible because of the time it would take for the calculations to run on the scientist's own computers. As a result scientists can focus on clinical work to develop the real world applications as opposed to IT, and by significantly accelerating research, develop new approaches and move more quickly into subsequent phases of testing.

More than 400 organisations are official partners of the WCG, and many thousands more teams have formed through the site. World Community Grid provides public and community organisations such as UNICEF, United Way and Aids Action Committee with a resource to generate public awareness and engagement around their own key issues. It also provides commercial organisations with another means for them and their employees to contribute to a variety of social issues. Organisations such as BankInter, Serco and Ogilvy are partners on the Grid.

For individuals, World Community Grid helps translate interest into awareness and engagement and promotes volunteerism. This collaborative technology enables people to contribute, altruistically or for deeper personal reasons. This is evidenced by the 200-250 new members who join each day, and by the level of dialogue IBM sees in this online community.

World Community Grid exemplifies how the application of IBM's leading edge technology and expertise delivers exceptional value. It epitomises one of IBM's three values: "Innovation that matters for our company and the world."

Jacobs Assumes Operations at NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility

PASADENA, Calif., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has been certified by NASA ready to assume operational management of the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in eastern New Orleans. William Gerstenmaier, NASA's associate administrator for space operations, signed the certification papers June 26 at MAF.

Jacobs was awarded the manufacturing support and facility operations contract (MSFOC) May 1. It officially took over the MSFOC from Lockheed Martin July 1, and will employ approximately 450 employees.

In making the announcement, Jacobs President and CEO Craig Martin stated, "The Michoud Assembly Facility has made major contributions to NASA's space research and exploration programs, and it will be central to the success of human missions to the moon and Mars. We are excited about supporting NASA's transformation of MAF into a multi-program, multi-prime facility and continuing our support to the U.S. space program."

Jacobs will provide program management; safety, health and emergency management; integrated manufacturing support; maintenance; site services; site operations; logistics operations services; sustaining engineering; environmental services; and construction and indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity services to the facility.

MAF is a world-class manufacturing facility providing vital support to NASA's Space Shuttle Program in the manufacture of the external tank. It has also been selected as the site to manufacture several major components for the Constellation Program.

With the shuttle program scheduled to retire next year, NASA is transitioning to the Constellation Program, which is developing new spacecraft - the Ares I and Ares V launch vehicles, the Orion crew capsule, and the Altair lunar lander - to transport humans to the International Space Station, the moon and beyond. NASA's transition involves comprehensive and careful planning of simultaneous large-scale, interrelated spaceflight program activities.

In addition to NASA, other tenants located at MAF include the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Finance Center, the U.S. Coast Guard's Integrated Support Command; and the University of New Orleans. NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility is one of the largest employers in New Orleans, with approximately 4,000 federal employees and contractors on site.

IBM Award for Innovative Solution to Tackling World's Most Critical Social and Environmental Problems

LONDON, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IBM was awarded the prestigious Coffey International Award for its application of technical expertise in innovative ways to address the greatest societal challenges of our time at the annual Business in the Community (BITC) Awards for Excellence yesterday.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20090416/IBMLOGO )

IBM earned the award for World Community Grid, in essence the virtual equivalent in processing power to a Top 10 supercomputer devoted to humanitarian research.

It's free and available to both public and not for profit organizations for use in humanitarian research that might not otherwise be performed."

He continues, "The Grid is about large scale volunteerism -- utilizing an individual's unused computer capacity to address scientific problems -- and in doing so accelerates research breakthroughs that underpin the Millennium Development Goals.

More than 400 organizations are official partners of the WCG, and many thousands more teams have formed through the site. World Community Grid provides public and community organizations such as UNICEF, United Way and Aids Action Committee with a resource to generate public awareness and engagement around their own key issues. It also provides commercial organizations with another means for them and their employees to contribute to a variety of social issues. Organizations such as BankInter, Serco and Ogilvy are partners on the Grid.

It epitomizes one of IBM's three values: "Innovation that matters for our company and the world."
