"The addition of Connect Plus means Motorola Solutions now has a complete MOTOTRBO portfolio with multiple configurations available to meet the varying needs of end users. Connect Plus -- with its controller-based architecture, digital multi-site trunking and seamless roaming -- is the ideal solution for users in the public service, utilities and transportation markets. ProfitStars(R) Introduces Comprehensive Performance Suite Portal: Optimizer- Whidbey Island Bank Uses Microsoft(R) SharePoint(R) Technology to Offer Centralized Convenience for Financial Institutions and Improve Management Capabilities -

MONETT, Mo., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. , a leading provider of integrated technology solutions and data processing services for financial institutions, today announced that its ProfitStars division, which provides solutions to improve the performance of financial institutions and diverse corporate entities, has introduced Optimizer at the FinovateFall 2010 conference. Optimizer is a portal that accommodates multiple ProfitStars data performance systems and platforms. As a result, financial institutions like Oak Harbor, Wash.-based Whidbey Island Bank can now seamlessly integrate information to improve reporting and analysis capabilities, drive profitability, and provide insight into solving business problems.

ProfitStars was selected to present Optimizer at FinovateFall as one the most innovative new ideas in financial and banking technology. The solution enables CEOs, CFOs, financial analysts, sales managers, and other financial personnel to monitor, analyze, plan, and execute profit-enhancing plans through one portal, one dashboard, and a single sign-on. Key performance indicators - such as loan and deposit mixes and volumes, income, wallet share, and average account profitability - are monitored and presented so that users can instantly access more data points. They can also launch from the portal into other ProfitStars solutions, including PROFITstar(R) Budget, PROFITability(R), the Margin Maximizer Suite(TM), Relationship Profitability Management (RPM), and Synapsys(R).

Whidbey Island Bank, a Jack Henry & Associates customer since 1994, elected to implement the solution to improve the reporting for its 26 branches, located throughout six counties in Northwest Washington. In June of this year, the $1 billion bank put Optimizer into production.

Optimizer is powered by Microsoft SharePoint technology to accommodate data sources from different ProfitStars systems and platforms. Its flexible toolset allows business users to access domain-focused information and interactive objects such as dashboards, collaborative tools, reports, and the analytics needed to gain instant insight into business indicators. The SharePoint platform makes it easy for users to get up to speed quickly by integrating with popular Microsoft Office system files and programs.

According to Joe Pagano, managing director of the Banking and Capital Markets Worldwide Financial Services Group for Microsoft, "Consolidating reporting systems have long been a critical challenge facing the banking industry. Information silos still exist across different lines of business in banks today. Using Microsoft's platform provided through this partnership, ProfitStars is able to quickly integrate these disparate silos and unlock value by arming decision makers with information that will enhance profitability and overall operational efficiency."

David Foss, president of ProfitStars, added, "Reporting and managing vital performance indicators are paramount to a financial institution's success. Now, with Optimizer, these indicators can all be viewed in one centralized, convenient location. This enables key individuals to quickly make better decisions about how to positively affect profitability."

Allscripts Professional Electronic Health Record Receives ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Certification as 'Complete EHR'Company's Emergency Department and PeakPractice EHR Solutions Also Certified

CHICAGO, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Allscripts announced today that Allscripts Professional(TM) EHR, Version 9.2 is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on Sept. 30, 2010 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT(R)), an Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB), in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

    (Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20100901/CG58147LOGO)

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20100901/CG58147LOGO)

Additionally, the company announced that Allscripts ED(TM), Version 6.3 Release 4, and Allscripts PeakPractice(TM) Version 5.5 are both 2011/2012 compliant and were certified as EHR Modules on Sept. 30, 2010 by CCHIT, in accordance with the applicable hospital and eligible provider certification criteria, respectively, adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

"This certification of the first group of Allscripts Electronic Health Records for mid-sized physician groups and for Emergency Department physicians demonstrates the significant progress we've made in certifying our entire portfolio of acute and ambulatory EHRs, all of which we've committed to complete before the end of the year, well in advance of when our clients will need the ARRA stamp of approval," said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts.

Mr. Tullman continued, "The Federal incentives for EHR adoption represent an unparalleled opportunity for healthcare organizations to bend the curve on healthcare quality and cost. We believe our ARRA-certified products - coupled with our experience delivering meaningful value for tens of thousands of physician practices and hospitals across the country - make Allscripts an ideal organization to partner with as we create the future of healthcare together."

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more - but not all - of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology. Companies offering ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certified EHR modules may return to test additional criteria and certify their products as Complete EHRs later. Companies certifying products early in the ONC-ATCB certification process must quickly adapt their products to meet the evolving nature of the NIST test procedures, particularly for electronic prescribing. ONC-ATCB product certification updates will be available at http://www.cchit.org as they occur.

"CCHIT is pleased to be testing and certifying products so that companies are now able to offer these products to providers who wish to purchase and implement certified EHR technology and achieve meaningful use in time for the 2011-2012 incentives," said Karen M. Bell, M.D., M.S.S., Chair, CCHIT.

2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.

With Isilon scale-out storage, iLOOKABOUT can linearly and independently scale performance and capacity in-line with application requirements, reducing capital expenses, while enabling the geospatial leader to grow its storage on-demand as business needs change.

"Our business success depends on our ability to maximize the value of our geospatial information and with traditional SAN or NAS, that's simply impossible," said Jeff Young, CEO, iLOOKABOUT. "Isilon gives us what we need, from high performance and on-demand scalability, to easy deployment and near-effortless management, meaning we can focus on our business and not on storage challenges."

iLOOKABOUT produces and delivers geo-coded images to businesses and governments that rely on visual data for their operations. Working with Isilon channel partner JumpPoint, iLOOKABOUT deployed Isilon scale-out storage to consolidate its massive repository of geospatial imagery and related applications, providing a single file system and point of management for its core imaging processes. With Isilon's unique clustered architecture, iLOOKABOUT can scale capacity and performance on-demand as its needs change, taking advantage of Isilon's multi-path I/O and easy capacity expansion to accelerate productivity, while minimizing costs.

"Maximizing the value of large files and growing data stores is a core concern for enterprise business across a wide range of industries," said Sam Grocott, vice president of marketing, Isilon. "However, the limited scalability and complex management of traditional SAN and NAS make doing so difficult. iLOOKABOUT's use of Isilon to minimize costs and improve business efficiency is further proof that Isilon's scale-out storage offers a better, simpler way to make the most of business-critical information."

    About Isilon

Isilon's products are simple to install, manage and scale, at any size. And, unlike traditional enterprise storage, Isilon stays simple no matter how much storage is added, how much performance is required or how business needs change in the future. We're challenging enterprises to think differently about their storage, because when they do, they'll recognize there's a better, simpler way. Learn what we mean at http://www.isilon.com.

National Semiconductor and Suntech Collaborate to Develop 'Smart Panel' TechnologyMulti-year Relationship Moves to Development Phase to Create Solar Arrays with Increased Efficiency

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- National Semiconductor Corp. , a leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog semiconductors, announced today that it is collaborating with Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. , the world's largest producers of crystalline silicon solar panels, to develop "smart panel" technology, incorporating National Semiconductor's award-winning SolarMagic(TM) power optimizer chipset into Suntech solar panels to improve the power output of solar systems.

"Smart panel technology is an important innovation that will help customers harvest more energy from their solar systems. We are pleased to collaborate with National Semiconductor to drive the development of this technology," said Mr. Shijun Cai, Senior Vice President of Suntech.

This announcement follows an announcement in May of 2009 in which the companies announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for Suntech to evaluate National Semiconductor's SolarMagic technology with the intention of jointly promoting the technology and developing future solutions. Suntech has completed its evaluation and the two companies have advanced to the development phase.

"Suntech was one of the first companies to recognize the value that integrated high-performance microelectronics bring to a photovoltaic panel. We are proud of our collaboration with Suntech to develop a next-generation product that will embed SolarMagic technology inside the junction box and ultimately boost the performance of solar arrays," said Michael Polacek, senior vice president, Key Market Segments and Business Development for National Semiconductor.

National Semiconductor will exhibit the SolarMagic power optimizer chipset in its booth #6219 at the Solar Power International conference in Los Angeles on Oct. 12 -14, 2010.

National's SolarMagic power optimizer chipset enables each solar module to produce the maximum energy regardless of whether other panels in the array are under-performing due to environmental mismatch. The technology enhances the energy harvest of each individual PV panel through a combination of advanced algorithms and leading-edge analog power management circuit techniques. In real-world tests involving shading and mismatch, Suntech modules with SolarMagic power optimizer technology were shown to recoup an average of 50 percent of lost energy, and in some cases captured as much as 75 percent of otherwise lost energy compared to standard panel performance.

Suntech recently utilized SolarMagic power optimizers with its panels on the eco-friendly Suntech Guosheng, a solar energy-powered water vessel ferrying passengers at the Shanghai World Expo.

NI Technology Updates Outlooks for Cree, Micron, Integrated Silicon Solution, Microsemi and IXYS

PRINCETON, N.J., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Next Inning Technology Research (http://www.nextinning.com), an online investment newsletter focused on semiconductor and technology stocks, has published updated outlooks for Cree , Micron , Integrated Silicon Solution , Microsemi and IXYS .

Editor Paul McWilliams has displayed uncanny accuracy in identifying winners and losers during this challenging and historic period for the markets. After calling the rally that started in March 2009 to the day and providing Next Inning readers with buy recommendations that in some cases returned in excess of 400%, he advised readers on May 3, 2010 that the markets were heading for a correction. By the end of the day, the correction started.

In his June 7th Strategy Review, McWilliams advised readers we would see stocks rally in July, but that the rally would be followed by another selloff in August. As we know now, both events materialized as predicted. On August 30th, Next Inning published McWilliams' Fall Strategy Review that outlines what he expects from the markets during the coming three months and naming five stocks he thinks will hit new highs before the close of the year. Investors are invited to read McWilliams' market insights with no obligation during a 21-day risk-free trial.

Trial subscribers will receive the Next Inning Fall Strategy Review and highly acclaimed State of Tech reports that offer in-depth, sector-by-sector coverage of over 65 leading tech companies and specific guidance on which stocks he thinks investors should own and which should be avoided. These reports, as well as McWilliams' regular commentary and detailed earnings previews, are available for free to trial subscribers.

In addition, subscribers will have access to McWilliams' daily commentary and actionable alerts. To take advantage of this offer and receive these reports for free, please visit the following link:

    https://www.nextinning.com/subscribe/index.php?refer=prn1102

McWilliams covers these topics and more in his recent reports:

-- The price of Cree is up 258% since McWilliams urged Next Inning readers to consider buying it as a strategic investment. While McWilliams has been spot-on in predicting Cree's earnings quarter to quarter, Wall Street has consistently missed by an embarrassingly large margin. What is it McWilliams sees in Cree that Wall Street is missing? What is "Cree's Law" and why is it important? What does McWilliams believe will drive Cree's growth and earnings going forward? Does McWilliams think the slump in Cree's price offers investors who missed the first run to catch the next rally? Will there be a "next" rally? What has McWilliams calculated to be Cree's "fair value" price? What strategy can investors use to take advantage of Cree's high volatility?

-- McWilliams advised investors it was time to close long positions in Micron in January when the stock was trading at $10.14 and reiterated the call to sell in June when the stock was trading for $8.94. Now that the price has dropped to $6s does he think it's time to jump back in for another ride up? What data points does McWilliams cite to support his opinion?

-- Less than two months ago when the price of Integrated Silicon Solutions dropped to $6.70 McWilliams advised Next Inning readers it was time to buy. Does his analysis of worldwide semiconductor sales data suggest that trends in Integrated Silicon's key markets have continued to work in the company's favor? How much upside could the stock see from current prices? What is McWilliams' exit strategy?

-- Does McWilliams have a positive view of Microsemi's acquisition activity this year? Does he think the acquisitions collectively represent a clear and synergistic strategy or that they are fragmenting what would otherwise be a good business model? Does he think the growing relationship with Cisco will turn into a material event for Microsemi? What does McWilliams see as a fair value for Microsemi? What sectors does McWilliams think will drive Microsemi going forward?

-- What does McWilliams think about IXYS' acquisitions of CP Clair, Ledis and Zilog? Does IXYS have exposure to sectors that are currently experiencing a strong demand environment? What is McWilliams' fair value price for the stock?

Founded in September 2002, Next Inning's model portfolio has returned 289% since its inception versus 26% for the S&P 500.

Pratt & Whitney on MIT Team Receiving Popular Mechanics Magazine's Breakthrough Innovator Award for Eco-Friendly Green Aircraft Design of the Future

NEW YORK, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Pratt & Whitney engineers are part of a team that today is receiving Popular Mechanics magazine's Breakthrough Innovator Award for designing a greener aircraft of the future that could use 70 percent less fuel than current planes while reducing noise and emissions. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. company.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)-led team, which also includes Aurora Flight Sciences, is looking at the potential application of Pratt & Whitney's PurePower(R) geared turbofan(TM) technology as an integral part of the design for this eco-friendly narrowbody plane. The team's work is part of a $2.1 million NASA contract to deliver benefits for future single-aisle aircraft designs.

"It's possible that in the not-too-distant future, highly efficient aircraft will be designed based on a fuselage shape that's not round, as conventional aircraft are today, but incorporates two side-by-side cylinders that create an oval - or 'double bubble' - cross section," said Alan Epstein, Pratt & Whitney vice president, Technology & Environment, who is a MIT professor emeritus. "It's estimated that the advanced concept in airframe design could use significantly less fuel than the conventional shape while also reducing noise and emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx)."

The craft's unique "double bubble" fuselage dispenses with the tube-and-wing structure of current airplanes, providing extra lift while reducing drag. Three engines are located on the upper rear of the fuselage. This will allow the engines to ingest slower moving air, using less fuel than under-wing engines. The plane's body and tail will shield the engines, reducing noise. A model of the aircraft is undergoing tests in the MIT Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics' Wright Brothers Wind Tunnel.

The double bubble concept in-service target is currently set for 2035, by which time commercial air travel in the U.S. is expected to have doubled. As the project proceeds, the technology required to make the concept a reality will be a system game-changer.

"This integrated approach to vehicle and engine will yield vastly improved efficiencies compared to today's applications," said Epstein. "Pratt & Whitney's role on the MIT team strongly positions us to influence the technology that will define the future of air travel."

The MIT-led team is being honored at the Breakthrough Awards ceremony in New York on Oct. 5. Popular Mechanics' November issue cover will feature an artist's concept of the aircraft.

Xilinx ISE Design Suite 12.3 Introduces AMBA 4 AXI4 IP Cores, Enhances PlanAhead Design and Analysis Cockpit, Extends Power OptimizationRelease of ISE Design Suite 12.3 Begins Roll-Out of IP Supporting AXI4 interfaces for Plug-and-Play FPGA Design

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Xilinx, Inc. today announced the release of ISE(R) Design Suite 12.3, kicking-off the FPGA leader's roll-out of Intellectual Property (IP) cores that meet the AMBA(R) 4 AXI4(TM) specification for interconnecting functional blocks in System-on-Chip (SoC) design, as well as introducing productivity enhancements to the PlanAhead(TM) Design and Analysis cockpit, and Intelligent Clock Gating support for reducing dynamic power consumption in Spartan(R)-6 FPGA designs.

    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20020822/XLNXLOGO)

"Xilinx is the first to standardize on the AMBA 4 specification as part of our interconnect strategy to support Plug-and-Play FPGA design. SoC designers who have large investments in AMBA AXI3(TM) and AXI4 interface IP have good reason to use Xilinx programmable platforms compared to alternative FPGA and ASIC solutions," said Vin Ratford, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing at Xilinx. "The flexibility inherent in the AXI4 interconnect enables it to be tailored for performance and area all while making it easier for customers to integrate IP from different domains and IP providers. It also enables ASIC designers to migrate pre-existing designs and IP to Xilinx FPGAs."

Xilinx's deployment of the AMBA 4 AXI4 specification means customers will have a consistent way to interconnect IP blocks while enabling better use of design resources through the use and reuse of IP, as well as easier integration across IP providers, all in support of Plug-and-Play FPGA design. In terms of core accessibility and the tools to assemble them, the release of ISE Design Suite 12.3 includes enhancements to the CORE Generator(TM) tool that accelerates design time by providing access to highly parameterized IP as well as the Xilinx Platform Studio and System Generator tools that enable designers to quickly configure their system architecture, buses and peripherals.

"The increases in complexity and scale for new designs means that communication and interconnect are critical to system performance," said Michael Dimelow, director of marketing, Processor Division at ARM. "The open nature of the AMBA standard delivers tremendous benefits to system designers by expanding the variety of IP available for implementation in SoC's and FPGAs, and thus accelerating time to market."

"Mercury's commitment to standards and industry leverage has led us to conform to AXI4 because of its broad ecosystem support, time-to-market benefits and alignment to Xilinx's product roadmap," said Charlie Frazer, Director of Silicon IP Engineering at Mercury Computer Systems

Xilinx's adoption of the AMBA protocol also provides designers access to established ASIC verification methodologies and existing AMBA protocol-based IP, allowing designers to easily make the transition to FPGAs as their SoC platform of choice.

"Cadence has long provided industry-leading AMBA verification solutions for SoC Realization, and our support of AXI4 in collaboration with Xilinx will be welcomed news for SoC designers who rely on Cadence's advanced verification IP and enterprise verification technologies to target their designs to FPGA for prototyping or production," said Michal Siwinski product management group director for System and SoC Realization at Cadence. "Our collaboration with Xilinx means integrators now have bus functional models they can use with any tool suite to model and verify their designs more easily."

Expanded PlanAhead RTL Design, Development and Analysis Cockpit

The ISE Design Suite software's PlanAhead design tool now delivers a seamless "push-button" flow, as well as an advanced visualization and analysis flow. The PlanAhead tool's cockpit also includes Project Management, Synthesis, CORE Generator integration, Floorplanning, Place-and-Route, ChipScope Pro tool integration and Bitstream generation. The entire Xilinx IP catalog, including AXI4 protocol IP cores, is directly accessible and searchable from the same design cockpit.

Intelligent Clock Gating Support for Spartan-6 FPGAs

The first release of ISE Design Suite 12 in May, 2010 introduced the FPGA industry's first intelligent clock-gating technology with fully automated analysis and fine-grain (logic slice) optimization capabilities specifically developed to reduce the number of transitions, a primary contributing factor of dynamic power dissipation in digital designs. The technology can reduce dynamic power consumption by as much as 30% by using a series of unique algorithms to detect sequential elements ('transitions') within each FPGA logic slice that do not change downstream logic and interconnect when toggled. The software generates clock-enable logic that automatically shuts down the unnecessary activity at the logic slice level to accumulate power savings without having to shut off an entire clock network. With version 12.3 of the ISE Design Suite, Intelligent Clock Gating supports both the low-cost Spartan-6 FPGA and high-performance Virtex(R)-6 FPGA families.

About The AMBA 4 AXI4 Protocol

The AXI4 protocol is defined by the AMBA interface specification, the de facto industry standard for on-chip communications introduced by ARM more than 15 years ago. The AMBA 4 specification introduced in March, 2010 was designed by and for the industry with contributions from thirty-five of the industry's leading OEM, EDA and semiconductor vendors including Xilinx. The AMBA 4 specification includes definition of an expanded family of AXI interconnect protocols including AXI4, AXI4-Lite and AXI4-Stream. The AXI4 protocol defines a Point-to-Point (P2P) interface developed to address system on-chip performance challenges. It supports multiple clock domains, and data up-sizing and down-sizing. The AXI4 specification also includes features such as address pipelining, out-of -order completion, and multi-threaded transactions. All of these features, when taken together, allow much higher performance systems than those over other bus architectures. As an example of the benefits to customers, Xilinx's embedded platform Targeted Reference Design converted to AXI4 provides 2X bandwidth over the previous Targeted Reference design. Xilinx's connectivity and DSP platforms Targeted Reference Designs converted to AXI4 achieve the same maximum data throughput with a nominal increase in resources utilized.

    Availability & Pricing

ISE Design Suite 12.3 is immediately available for all ISE Editions and list priced starting at US$2,995 for the Logic Edition. Customers can download full-featured 30-day evaluation versions at no charge from the Xilinx web site. To get started today or for more information about the power and cost-saving design methodologies and productivity innovations introduced in ISE Design Suite 12, designers can visit: http://www.xilinx.com/tools/designtools.htm.

"With Ohloh's database, Black Duck can ease the friction of commercial adoption of open source technologies by commercial organizations and provide developers with more and better intelligence about open source project health. This is a win for the company and communities alike."

Black Duck will immediately invest in the current Ohloh website and community. The company expects that enhancements to the site will begin rolling out within a few months, and will engage directly with the Ohloh community to define and implement these enhancements.

Ohloh.net already provides valuable free and unique data on FOSS trends. The chart accompanying this release, pulled from Ohloh, shows the count of monthly commits made by source code developers, sorted by language.

"Koders.com and the Black Duck KnowledgeBase are tremendous and unique productivity tools, but individual developers have been asking for more freely available open source content in one comprehensive resource," said Tim Yeaton, CEO and President, Black Duck Software. "With this acquisition we'll provide the FOSS ecosystem and all developers using open source with a complete, trusted source of FOSS knowledge and insight, along with community and collaboration tools to engage with peers. Black Duck enterprise customers will benefit from Ohloh's integration with the Black Duck Suite, making open source much easier to consume and manage in their enterprises and making their developers that much more productive."

NICE Broadens Scope of Solution for Small to Mid-size Contact Centers and Branches, Enabling Enhanced Quality Management and Risk Management, While Further Reducing TCONew Version of NICE Perform eXpress Delivers Cost Efficient Web-based Quality Management, Along With Enterprise-grade, Mission-critical Total Recording for Compliance

RA'ANANA, Israel, October 5, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NICE Systems Ltd. , the worldwide leader of intent-based solutions that extract insight to impact business performance, reduce financial risk and ensure safety and security, today announced significant enhancements to NICE Perform eXpress, enabling small to mid-size contact centers and branches to deliver a differentiated customer experience with a new Quality Management solution that is delivered via an intuitive web client. The new version also includes "total recording" to capture all customer interactions, improved call retention and virtualization, expanded support for dozens of additional telephony environments and support for gathering call metadata that is not dependent on the Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) system. These enhancements provide small to mid-size contact centers with capabilities that enable significant improvements to service levels while enhancing regulatory compliance and further reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).

"Small and mid-size contact centers can no longer maintain a competitive edge with simple recording for compliance alone," said Aphrodite Brinsmead, analyst at analyst firm Datamonitor. "On the one hand, a growing number of them require advanced call recording capabilities to ensure compliance as stricter regulations are enforced. On the other hand, they are seeking access to the same advanced applications that bigger contact centers are using to support the organization's customer-centric goals, while still ensuring operational efficiency as a key competitive differentiator."

Simon Rees, NICE Product Manager at Dimension Data, commented, "NICE Perform eXpress has experienced tremendous success in the market since its release in mid 2009. It is easy to install and maintain, and offers a competitively low total cost of ownership - our clients have responded with much enthusiasm. NICE's continued and aggressive commitment to delivering enterprise-grade yet cost efficient solutions that are also the most relevant to small and mid-size contact centers will serve as the ideal springboard for ongoing collaborative success. Moreover, expanding NICE Perform eXpress with quality management makes for the ideal means by which our clients can further drive the quality of service they provide their customers."

"This new version of NICE Perform eXpress underscores our commitment to addressing the needs of small to mid-size contact centers. Furthermore, this latest release of our enterprise-grade solution is ideally suited for our channel partners, enabling them to grow their outreach into potential customers, and for NICE to expand its partner network," said Udi Ziv, President, Enterprise Product Group, NICE. "The new NICE Perform eXpress delivers cost efficient compliance recording with advanced quality management, providing new and advanced capabilities that are no longer the sole domain of larger contact centers."

The NICE Enterprise offering addresses the needs of customer-centric businesses with intent-based solutions that optimize Customer Dynamics. Driven by real-time, cross-channel analytics, NICE provides solutions for increasing revenue, enhancing customer experience, improving regulatory compliance, and optimizing contact center and back office operations. Trimble Releases Next Generation High Accuracy Real-Time GNSS Receiver for Mapping and GIS ApplicationsNext Generation Trimble GPS Pathfinder ProXRT Receiver Provides Decimeter Accuracy with Trimble H-Star Technology and Includes Support for OmniSTAR, GLONASS, and Galileo with Trimble 360 Receiver Technology

COLOGNE, Germany, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Trimble introduced today its next generation Trimble(R) GPS Pathfinder(R) ProXRT receiver, a versatile decimeter receiver combining dual-frequency GPS with Trimble H-Star(TM) technology, along with optional OmniSTAR and GLONASS support. In addition, the GPS Pathfinder ProXRT receiver is now capable of tracking Galileo test satellites for signal evaluation and test purposes.

The announcement was made today at INTERGEO 2010, the world's largest conference on geodesy, geoinformatics and land management.

The GPS Pathfinder ProXRT receiver brings H-Star technology to the field in real time; just connect to a VRS(TM) network or a local base station correction source and collect decimeter (10 cm / 4 inch) or subfoot (<30 cm) positions in the field. If a VRS network or a local base station is not available, real-time decimeter accuracy can be achieved with the OmniSTAR HP option. The GPS Pathfinder ProXRT receiver is also capable of using the OmniSTAR XP service (for 20 cm accuracy) and OmniSTAR VBS service (for submeter accuracy).

The GLONASS option for the GPS Pathfinder ProXRT receiver increases the number of GNSS satellites visible when working in the field. As a result, GLONASS improves the ability to maintain lock on enough satellites to keep working when sky visibility becomes limited or obstructed, and can also improve productivity by reducing the time required to achieve real-time or postprocessed decimeter accuracy. G2, an optional service to OmniSTAR HP that provides GLONASS corrections, can also be used with the GPS Pathfinder ProXRT receiver with the GLONASS option.

The GPS Pathfinder ProXRT receiver includes the latest generation of Trimble 360(TM) receiver technology and is capable of tracking the Galileo GIOVE-A and GIOVE-B test satellites for signal evaluation and test purposes, through the Web Browser interface available with the NMEA optional upgrade. This powerful receiver technology conforms to the current Open Service Signals-in-Space Interface Control Document (OS SIS ICD), Issue 1, Revision1, September 2010.

The new GPS Pathfinder ProXRT receiver is available from authorized Trimble resellers or from store.trimble.com. For additional information about the GPS Pathfinder ProXRT receiver, visit www.trimble.com/pathfinderproxrt.

TSMC Expands IP Alliance to Include Soft IPNew initiative responds to design-driven customer demands

HSINCHU, Taiwan, R.O.C., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- TSMC today expanded its IP Alliance to incorporate a soft IP program that will improve soft IP readiness for advanced technology nodes and drive earlier time-to-market.

TSMC is expected to provide specific design documents and technology information through the program so that partners can optimize their soft IP to TSMC's technology. TSMC will also collaborate with these companies to expedite soft IP readiness by aligning their development with TSMC's process technology roadmap.

Soft IP has historically been process technology independent and therefore was not optimized for power, performance and area considerations. Given the ever-increasing need of first time silicon success and early time-to-market for highly integrated circuits such as System-on-Chip (SoC), close technical collaboration between the foundry and the IP provider is imperative to optimize this critical trade-off.

The new program enriches TSMC's IP alliance portfolio, encourages soft IP innovation and reuse through TSMC's Open Innovation Platform(TM) initiative, and helps deliver power, performance and area optimization that are a particularly important consideration to the success of products at advanced technology nodes.

"Understanding power, performance and area trade-off inherent in large SoC designs early in the design cycle is essential," said Dan Kochpatcharin, deputy director, IP Portfolio Marketing at TSMC. "We work with soft IP partners to combine TSMC's foundry-leading technologies and manufacturing capability with their soft IP cores to address this concern."

TSMC kicked off the soft IP program by working with EDA and IP companies Arteris, Atrenta Inc., Cadence Design Systems, Inc., Chips&Media, Imagination Technologies, Intrinsic-ID, MIPS Technologies, Sonics, Inc., Synopsys, Inc. and Vivante Corporation.

    About the Open Innovation Platform(TM)

The TSMC Open Innovation Platform (TM) promotes timeliness-driven innovation among the semiconductor design community, ecosystem partners, and TSMC's complete technology portfolio. The Open Innovation Platform includes a set of ecosystem interfaces and collaborative components initiated and supported by TSMC that efficiently empowers innovation throughout the supply chain thereby enabling creation and sharing of newly created revenue and profitability. TSMC's Active Accuracy Assurance (AAA) initiative is a critical part of the Open Innovation Platform, providing the accuracy and quality required by ecosystem interfaces and collaborative components.

    About TSMC

TSMC is the world's largest dedicated semiconductor foundry, providing the industry's leading process technology and the foundry's largest portfolio of process-proven libraries, IPs, design tools and reference flows. The company's managed capacity in 2009 totaled 9.96 million (8-inch equivalent) wafers, including capacity from two advanced 12-inch GigaFabs(TM), four eight-inch fabs, one six-inch fab, as well as TSMC's wholly owned subsidiaries, WaferTech and TSMC China, and its joint venture fab, SSMC. TSMC is the first foundry to provide 40nm production capabilities. Its corporate headquarters are in Hsinchu, Taiwan. For more information about TSMC please visit http://www.tsmc.com.
