| Description | The ABSOPULSE Electronics BAP 1K-U7712 series dc/dc converters generate up to 1kW output power with convection cooling. Housed in a compact, ruggedly constructed 173 x 173 x 314 mm chassis-mount enclosure, these converters are suitable for demanding industrial applications where fans or forced air are not feasible. The series complies with EN/UL 60950 and equivalent industrial safety standards. A railway grade version that meets EN 50155 is also available.
The 1kW converters are comprised of two internal modules, each capable of generating a minimum of 500W. The design has inherent redundancy which ensures that the unit remains functional at 500W if one internal module fails. A dual output version with two independent, fully regulated outputs of 500W each is also possible. Several units may be paralleled if output power higher than 1kW is required.
The BAP 1K-U7712 units operate from inputs of 48V, 72V, 110V, 125V or 250Vdc (± 15%) and provide tightly regulated outputs of 24V, 48V, 110V or 125Vdc. Other input/output values are available on request.
The converters meet EMI requirements of EN 55022 Class A. Efficiency is 85% (minimum), depending on the input/output configuration. Protection features include 2250Vdc input/output isolation, overload, over-voltage and short circuit protection with thermal shutdown and self-resetting. A module fail alarm (Form C) and remote shutdown are available as options. Other options include conformal coating, heavy ruggedizing and extended temperature ranges. Generous design headroom and the use of designed-in components with established reliability contribute to high MTBF and ultimately, low life cycle costs. |

· Rugged industrial quality · Fieldproven internal modules · Cooling by convection only (no fans or forced air) · Full electronic protection · Dual output available This rugged, industrial quality DC/DC converter series generates to 1kW output power with convection cooling (no fans). Several units can be paralleled for higher output power. It is housed in a compact, ruggedly constructed x 12" chassis. The design has large design headroom and is rated for operation over a wide temperature range without derating. The unit is built with two BAP 65F internal modules, which have a wellestablished track record in numerous other heavy duty applications. Each internal module generates a minimum of 500W. This modular construction provides inherent redundancy; the failure of one internal module would result a 50% drop in output power while the unit remains functional at 500W. This design can also be used a 500W redundant power supply. Two independent fully regulated outputs of 500W each are also possible. Full electronic protection eliminates failure due to abnormal operating conditions, including application errors. The input and output are filtered for low noise. Additional ruggedizing and conformal coating are available for applications that require high immunity to shock, vibration and humidity. Other options include a Form C output fail alarm to indicate module failure, as well as remote shutdown. Low component count and the use of components with established reliability result in a high MTBF. Versions designed to meet EN 50155 railway specifications are also available.
