Description

Offering an excellent rate noise density (3.8 mdps/√Hz), STMicroelectronics' L20G20IS has ±100 DPS and ±200 DPS full-scale range and integrated low-pass filters with user-selectable bandwidth as well as power-down (5 µA) and sleep modes for smart power-savings. Thanks to its extremely compact dimensions of its LGA-12 package (2.0 mm x 2.0 mm x 0.7 mm), the smallest in the OIS market, the L20G20IS matches the popular trend of dual-camera solutions facilitating the wiring routing design and reducing external components in the camera module board. The L20G20IS gyro is designed with a focus on key parameters such as fast booting time, configurable phase delay, and well controlled sensitivity tolerance, resulting in a significant improvement in the OIS user experience. With each OIS gyro integrating a temperature sensor, the L20G20IS ensures best-in-class temperature compensation for photos with high quality, improving pictures with long exposure time.

Ultra-compact two-axis gyroscope for optical image stabilization
Applications
Description

The is a two-axis MEMS gyroscope for optical image stabilization applications. It includes a sensing element and an IC interface capable of providing the measured angular rate to the application through an SPI digital interface. x 0.7 mm) The unique sensing element is manufactured using a dedicated micromachining process developed by STMicroelectronics to produce inertial sensors and actuators on silicon wafers. The IC interface is manufactured using a CMOS process that allows a high level of integration to design a dedicated circuit which is trimmed to better match the characteristics of the sensing element. The L20G20IS is available in a plastic land grid array (LGA) package and can operate over a temperature range to +85 °C.
