1 ABSTRACT

For application in TV transposers in band 4 and 5 (470 - 860 MHz) a wideband linear power amplifier has been designed with two balanced transistors BLV57 coupled by means of 3 dB -90° hybrids. The class-A DC-setting of the transistors is IC = 2 × 850 mA and VCE = 25 V. The main properties of the two prototypes are: Table 1 470 - 860 MHz Gain (Pi = 1 mW) Return losses input Return losses output Po at 1 dB gain compression Po at -55 dB intermod. For application in TV transposers for band 4 and 5 (470 - 860 MHz) a wideband linear power amplifier has been designed with two transistors BLV57 in class-A. The BLV57 is a balanced transistor (two identical chips) in a single envelope with a ceramic cap (SOT-161). 3 3.1 DESIGN OF THE AMPLIFIER General remarks
