The NW800 enables a new class of cost-effective, high-performance USB-based PC cameras (PCAMs) with CIF CMOS sensors. Leveraging Divio's patented JPEG-LiteTM technology, the NW800 provides real-time, full-motion digital video capture across a standard USB interface. Divio's dynamic-bit-rate control automatically adjusts the camera's video compression rate to guarantee the highest video performance under any given bandwidth conditions. The NW800 also includes a Zoom Video (ZV) port that brings video to portable and handheld devices.

The NW800 replaces the complex, costly chip sets used in current PC camera designs. The NW800's fully integrated design combines a number of functions into a single-chip, JPEG-Lite encoder: image processing, auto-exposure, timing and sync generator, I2C, USB interface, and support for off-the-shelf CIF-size CMOS sensors. To simplify implementation and reduce time to market, a PC camera manufacturing kit with full functionality is also available. The kit includes all the hardware, software and documentation necessary to quickly and easily develop low-cost, high-performance PC camera designs.
