IT5000 50 Kbit/s DCSK/CEBus Power Line Communication Modem
IT5000: Ideal Solution for Home Automation, Control and Telemetry Applications. The IT5000 Power Line Modem is an advanced, low cost implementation of ITRAN's DCSK patented technology, offering a simple solution for both physical and data link layers. IT5000 is designed to be compact for maximum integration using minimal design space. Reaching bit rates up to 50 Kbit/s, the IT5000 offers a significant improvement to the communications speed defined by the CEBus standard. IT5000 has a selectable dynamic bit rate. Superior Reliability The inherent reliability of DCSK modulation/detection technique is specifically designed to withstand colored noise, CW interference, spectral distortion, impedance modulation, short noise-bursts and pulses on AC power lines. An optimized error correction code is implemented in the IT5000. DCSK Technology The DCSK patented modulation technique is the first to reach superb reliability over noisy power lines. Implementation of DCSK in ITRAN's ASIC's provides a cost-effective and reliable solution for Home Automation, Control and Telemetry applications. The advantages offered by DCSK modulation/detection technique include: ! Resistance to typical noise and interference over power lines. ! Very low gate count and mixed signal implementation on a single chip. ! Low accuracy input clock requirement. Backward Compatibility ITRAN IT5000 allows optional backward compatibility for developers wishing to design PLC products, capable of seamlessly integrating with CEBus. In its CEBus Physical detection mode, IT5000 performs as a superior CEBus receiver, inheriting part of the DCSK performance.
