IT800 Power Line Transceiver The IT800 Power Line Transceiver is an advanced, low cost implementation of ITRAN's patented DCSK technology, offering a simple, physical layer solution for Power Line Communication (PLC). IT800's mixed-signal, low gate - count design is optimized for ease of integration, maximum feature utility, while consuming minimal space. Features and Benefits Utilizes DCSK advanced technology and additional signal processing, providing extremely high communication reliability. 7.5 Kbit/s maximum throughput with variable rates down to 1.3 Kbit/s. Serial interface to Host requires no special logic. Maximal integration of analog blocks inside the chip, specially designed to minimize the external components required for power line communication interface and flexible system architectures.

Extreme Reliability With DCSK The inherent reliability of DCSK modulation/detection technique stems from its unparalleled resistance to the noise and distortion characteristic of the power line medium. the factors which produce the superior performance of the IT800 include: Close to theoretical tolerance of Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN). Differential operation enables impedance modulation handling. Resistance to fast variations in line characteristics. Fast recovery from severe fading or jamming. Resistance to frequency distortion. Resistance to colored noise and Continuous Wave (CW) interference. Error Correcting Code The IT800 also employs ITRAN's patent (pending) non-conventional, forward, short block, Error Correcting Code (ECC) to achieve unprecedented reliability. Applications The IT800 is best suited for home automation, Automated Meter Reading (AMR), security and other applications demanding high reliability and affordable communication over existing power lines.
FCC part 15 compliant. Configurable to transmit in European CENELEC bands. Co-exists with X-10 products.
