Metalink's HDSL/SDSL Framer/Mappers for 1,2 and 3 Pair Systems MtH2430 CL MtH2431
The MtH2430CL and MtH2431 HDSL/SDSL Framer/Mappers perform the framing and mapping functions of Metlink's HDSL/SDSL chipset solutions. When combined with a Metalink HDSL/SDSL Transceiver, the MtH2430CL/MtH2431 form various HDSL/SDSL system configurations that are ideal for use in standard HDSL E1 and T1 systems or in multi-rate SDSL systems. The Framer/Mapper's DATA/PCM interface supports standard E1 (2,048 Kbps), standard T1 (1,544 Kbps), TU12 (2,304 Kbps), and N x 64 Kbps datastreams. The HDSL interface supports data rates of N x 64 + 16 Kbps HOH. The MtH2430CL/MtH2431 enables flexible mapping of E1/T1 data. The mapping scheme is programmable, enabling the

L e a d e r s in communication rely on Metalink
mapping of any channel to one or more of the loops (for the MtH2431, mapping is to one loop only). The data of each loop is inserted into HDSL frames and HDSL overhead bits (HOH) are added to the raw data. The MtH2430CL/MtH2431 performs E1/T1 to HDSL conversion and vice versa. The MtH2430CL/MtH2431 performs stuff insertion and E1/T1 clock recovery to support the frequency conversion from E1/T1 to HDSL/SDSL and vice versa. It also uses a stuff predictor to assist the complex synchronization detector. The MtH2430CL/MtH2431 supports HDSL framing of the data payload, including data scrambling and descrambling, cyclic redundancy checking, frame synchronization, stuffing bits, embedded operation channel and indication bits. It includes an internal PRBS generator and bit error rate (BER) measurement. The MtH2430CL/MtH2431 is designed for glueless connection to a large variety of Intel and Motorola microprocessors, to T1/E1 LIUs and to T1/E1 framers. The MtH2430CL also has an internal repeater mode.
