DESCRIPTION
T h e µPC2800A is a receiver preamplifier for infrared remote control systems. It can be directly connected t o a PIN photodiode and integrates a high-gain first-stage amplifier, limiter, bandpass filter, detection circuit, a n d waveform shaping circuit to provide a receiver preamplifier on a single chip.

· H i g h reliability due to high-frequency lighting fluorescent lamp I n t e r n a l trap circuit · I n t e r n a l bandpass filter C e n t r a l frequency variable by external resistor: fO = 30 to 80 kHz F e w variation of central frequency thanks to fO trimming · L o w external components I n t e r n a l output pull-up resistor and power supply filter resistor O n l y low external capacitance required · A B L C (Automatic Bias Level Control) circuit C o n t r o l s fluctuation of bias level cause by disturbance from external light · O p e n - c o l l e c t o r output O p e n - c o l l e c t o r output (active low) with pull-up resistor (33 k TYP.)

S e t s the central frequency of the i n t e r n a l bandpass filter by an external r e s i s t a n c e (refer to fO vs. R2 Characteri s t i c s in CHARACTERISTIC CURVE). U s e a resistor with excellent accuracy a n d temperature characteristics.

G N D pin C o n n e c t a smoothing capacitor to this p i n to obtain a DC voltage corresponding t o the output signal level of the internal b a n d p a s s filter. T h e 0.01 µF is the most suitable value f o r the external capacitor between pin 6 a n d GND. In case of reducing this c a p a c i t o r , confirm that the output pulses f r o m pin 2 have enough width even if t h e longest burst signal is inputted.
