Reference Design Kit with PCI SDK
The PLX PCI 9080RDK-401B simplifies your PCI design providing you with a complete hardware and software development environment. The reference design kit includes a PCI v2.1 compliant board based on the powerful combination of the PLX PCI 9080 Bus Master I/O Accelerator Chip and the IBM PowerPC 401GF 32-bit embedded RISC processor as the local CPU. Also included in the reference design kit is the PLX PCI software development kit (SDK) which features a complete set of software development tools including host and local side PCI APIs for the PCI 9080, the Board Support Package (BSP) "C" source code necessary for porting to the target design, and sample Windows® NT® drivers which significantly reduce the time necessary to develop PCI software. Also included is PLXMon® 98, a robust and comprehensive Windows NT based GUI tool that allows for interactive PCI and local bus device monitoring, debugging, configuration, and code download to the RDK board. The PCI 9080RDK-401B addresses the need to quickly bring your embedded design to market while providing you with a longer term investment, a software development platform that will enable you to migrate from the PCI 9080 to future PLX products such as the IOP 480 (Intelligent I/O processor). The PCI 9080 Bus Master I/O Accelerator interface chip available from PLX provides a compact, high performance PCI bus master interface for adapter boards and embedded systems. The PCI 9080 includes two high performance DMA channels, programmable burst modes, and messaging functions. In addition, the programmable local bus can be configured to directly connect to a wide variety of processors, controllers, and memory subsystems.
