OUTPUTS DESCRIPTION These devices consist of four independent precision voltage comparators with an offset voltage specifications as low as 2mV max for LM339A, LM239A and LM139A. All these comparators were designed specifically to operate f rom a single power supply aver a wide range of voltages. Operation from split power supplies is also possible. These comparators also have a unique characteristic in that the input common-mode voltage range includes ground even though operated from a single power supply voltage. PIN CONNECTIONS (top view)

At output switch p oint, Vo 1.4V, R s = 0 with VCC from 5V to 3 0V, and over t he full c ommon-mode r ange ( 0V to VCC - 1.5V). T he direction of the input current is out of the IC due to the PNP input stage. T his current i s essentially constant, independent o f the state of t he output, so n o loading charge exists on the reference of i nput lines. T he input common-mode v oltage of either input signal v oltage should not be allowed to go negative b y more than 0.3V. The upper end of the common-mode voltage range is VCC + -1.5V, but e ither o r b oth inputs can g o to +30V without damage T he response time specified is for a 100mV i nput s tep w ith 5mV o verdrive. For larger overdrive signals 300ns can be obtained Posistive excursions of input voltage may exceed the p ower supply level. As long as the other voltage remains w ithin the common-mode range, the comparator will p rovide a proper output state. The low input voltage state must not be less than -0.3V (or 0.3V bellow the negative power supply, if used).
