General Description
The EV2050 Evaluation System provides a development a n d e v a l u a t i o n e n v i r o n m e n t f o r t h e b q 2 0 5 0 Po w e r Gauge IC. The EV2050 incorporates a bq2050 sense resistor, and all other hardware necessary to provide a power monitoring function for 1 to 5 series Li-Ion cells. Hardware for an PC interface is included on the EV2050 so that easy access to the state-of-charge information can be achieved via the serial port of the bq2050. Direct connection to the serial port of the bq2050 is also m a d e av a i l a b l e f o r ch e ck - o u t o f t h e f i n a l h a r d wa r e / s o f t wa r e i m p l e m e n t a t i o n .

The menu-driven software provided with the EV2050 displays charge/discharge activity and allows user interface to the bq2050 from any standard DOS PC. A full data sheet for this product is available from the Unitrode web site, or you may contact the factory for one.
