T Y P E EC T h e EC range of capacitors are similar in design to the E T r a n g e but are housed in a more robust container. T h e y are manufactured using a mixed dielectric material t h a t consists of polyester/polypropylene film and c a p a c i t o r tissue. They are impregnated and filled with a m i n e r a l oil. The container is a Synthetic Resin Bonded P a p e r (SRBP) tube sealed at both ends with resin a s s u r i n g a hermetic seal. The capacitors may be used i n air, oil or SF6. They are terminated with M6 studs x 1 5 m m long or tinned copper wire. N o t e : The impregnant used is a non toxic highly purified a n d inhibited mineral oil. A P P L I C AT I O N S T h e EC range of capacitors are specifically designed for h i g h voltage filters and can be sucessfully used in the f o l l o w i n g applications: High voltage smoothing I n d u c t i o n heating RT t r a n s m i t t e r power supplies X - r a y power supplies T E M P E R AT U R E RANGE Te m p e r a t u r e range is - 40°C to + 85°C. Derating is r e q u i r e d for operation at higher temperatures. T E M P E R AT U R E COEFFICIENT C a p a c i t a n c e will increase by 2% per 100°C temperature rise. C A PA C I TA N C E RANGE 0 . 0 0 1 µ F - 2µF. The tolerance is ± 1 0 % . Other tolerance a r e available on request. Normal values measured at 1kHz. V O LTA G E RANGE 1 0 0 0 V D C - 100kVDC
