10/100BASE-TX ETHERNET PHYSICAL CODING SUBLAYER
The NWK936 implements the Physical Coding Sublayer of the 10 and 100Mb/s Ethernet Physical Layer. It interfaces directly to the GPS NWK918 Transceiver and clock and data recovery device to provide a complete solution for the 10/ 100Mb/s Ethernet Physical Layer as defined in the 802.3 standard. The interface from the NWK936 to the MAC layer is across a standard Media Independant Interface (MII) complying with 802.3u MII definition. T h e NWK936 is manufactured on GEC Plessey Semiconductors' 0.8µm CMOS process.
