Fibre Optic Receiver
The PTAV series are optical receivers suitable for bit rates from 155 to 622 Mbit/s long and intermediate reach SDH/SONET/ATM single mode applications. They use Bookham Technology one piece fibre alignment technology offering high stability and reliability and are capable of satisfying the requirements of the Bellcore quality specification TA-NWT-00983. Bookham's unsurpassed quality and reliability are featured in a rugged, hermetically sealed, ceramic package fully tested for environmental integrity. The receivers are designed to be physically small and their 8 pin mini DIL packages are near pin-compatible with industry standard 14 pin DIL devices. The optical element is an InGaAs PIN photodiode coupled to a multimode fibre pigtail, and an integral transimpedance amplifier with AGC is featured. Operation from either dual +5 / -5.2 V supplies or single +5 V supply is specified by selecting a PTAV**L or PTAV**C respectively. The PTAV series is compatible with the LCV mini DIL transmitter.
